Andrea, I needed to come on here and let you know that these pin curls have changed my life. I used to wear my hair up every day because as a student teacher I have no free time and I"m not about to wake up at 5am every morning so I can get my hair done before I have to teach. I spend less than 10 minutes putting these up every night and my hair looks amazing everyday. My hair also sent me a "thank you" card now that I've stopped frying it. PS Thank you!!

I am old enough to REMEMBER pin curling my hair - haven't used a pin curl OR a roller in at least 30 yrs. Going to a 50's party & needed a 'refresher course' not only on pin curling but on where to find a good Bobbie Pin. Considered vintage on eBay then found this video. You are darling & your hair is gorgeous! Oh to be young again!! I appreciated your styling tips & plan to try some of your products. As we age our hair does lose its luster. Thanks for an informative and entertaining video.

I absolutely love doing this to my hair! When we do shows at my performing arts high school we have to put our hair into pin curls for a wig prep since we use wigs for every production. It just looks better on stage than natural hair. But when we take them out at the end of the show, and it's been like 3 or 4 hours since we did it, they look so awesome!

I have recently started doing this and it really reduces damage and also you get a good curl. Mine lasts for several days.
Thank you for this tutorial! I have naturally straight, lifeless, oily hair. When I attempt to go a second day without washing my hair I can't do anything with it. I slept in the pins and my hair looked gorgeous in the morning :)

I already saw someone do a video like this. You don't need to straighten it first. It still works.
She didnt straighten it she blow dried it.
When you have curly hair, and it is blow dried, it can still take whatever shape you put it in! I have very curly hair and if my hair is straightened or even brow dried and i decide to braid it, it will curl with it! if you have naturally straight or wavy hair, you could try this while wet and it should hold.You could also put a sculpting cream in to help it keep shape! Hope this helped:)

the no heat styles never work for me because my hair is like puffy and wierd and all that stuff...and so i did this and it worked! i was getting compliments at school all day about how volumous it looks and pretty..i was like YES THANK YOU ANDREA! :D

It usually helps my curls to stay on longer if i do this or any other heatless curling on partially damp hair like 75% dry (air dry) and leave it for a lot longer like over night or most of the day (whenever u have some free time and don't need to go anywhere) and only use a tine bit of hair products so it doesn't feel heavy and pull the curls down. Also having layers helps too cos shorter hair stays curly longer. Hope it helps :)

i also have curly hair and i know it's hard to blowdry it straight :( but when your drying it you should hold your blowdryer down. don't hold it straight on your hair because then it will get fizzy :s and you should use a leave in conditioner before you start blowdrying it :) believe me, it really helps!!! the leave in conditioner i use is from CHI. it's a really good one you should try it!!! :)
To everyone whose curls aren't coming out right, the same thing happened to me at first but I found that if it ended up looking like a fro you should use bigger pieces and use mousse and hairspray because these do fall out. In the end you just have to experiment because everyone's hair is different. Hope this helps :)

I do this style ALL THE TIME. I have straight, fairly thin hair that doesn't curl easy. Here's an added tip for chicks like me: after you get all the curls pinned, heat them up with a hair dryer. If I'm going to be hanging out for a few hours waiting for the curls to set, I go back and heat them up every hour or so. And, YES, mouse or gel is a MUST before styling!

I did it, literally cost me 2 dollars just for a pack of bobby pins after I showered and at my work every male customer kept telling me how beautiful I was LOL ...I didn't even have makeup on at all! Thanks Girl for the TIPS!!!!!!!! xo
then wrap the curls around more fingers, like three or four instead of just two fingers. it'll loosen the rotation of the curls. also do a bigger section of hair when you wrap it :) hope that helps!

I think that this works best if you have naturally curly hair to begin with, because when I do this it lasts pretty much all day. Thank you so much ^-^ its so easy and looks like I spent hours in front of a mirror with a curling iron :3

I did smaller sections because my hair is medium length, and I didn't have no Bobby pins so I used little rubber bands...... And it turned out great I did it on wet hair though and when I moisturizes it when it is wet the moisture seals in better

I really love this tutorial, but I thought you'd like to know that the little part that sticks upward on the bobbypin is supposed to face downward and lie against your scalp. something I recently learned and I thought id share it with you. &actually when I started doing it that way, in my opinion, it held a lot more hair.
I've tried just about every heatless hair thing in the book, and this is the ONLY thing that works on me.

curl your hair after you blowdry it. Andrea said she's tried it without, but prefers and likes the final curl better when hair is blow dried before...hope it helps
The heat from the blow dryer sets the hair. Usually I blow dry mine and braid it and get great waves that last for two days.
Wow, after seeing this, I now know I will stick to using my curling iron. Your hair looks great, dont get me wrong! I just dont have the time to do it this way! I just make sure to care for my hair and not overstyle too often to dry it out and rehydrate with the right products/deep conditioner. My method takes 30minutes and I am done...
