man, you should do a whole video on maximization. i never see anybody talk about it and to be honest, i don’t have that great of a understanding of it and how it works.
Bro your tutorials are always appreciated. You are one of the best advisors on this topic on youtube. You are getting straight to the point, you show the plugin, you show A/B and you have a pleasant voice. The opposite to f.e. Studio Life channel with their "IS IT SHIT" reviews. No disrespect to them, just saying. Keep it up! Greetings from Germany!
While a limiter simply cuts off the loudest peaks of the source, a maximizer increases the loudness and at the same time sets a ceiling for its peak level to prevent clipping. A limiter’s job is to set a ceiling while the maximizer pushes the music up to the ceiling. Maximizers also have other controls/options that can be used to color/enhance a source which might not be found in a typical or stock limiter, like transient enhancement, true-peak protection, oversampling, and dither. Obviously with maximization you reduce the dynamic range. Is there a specific dynamic range value you shoot for so as to not overdue your addition of maximization?
Why am I not able to identify the difference before n after. Is it cuz of my headphones or inability to figure things out yet? If this makes sense, I'm a beginner btw
It could potentially be a combination of both! Having high-quality mixing-specialized headphones is definitely an essential though, especially for critical listening applications.

Would love more simpler videos like this. Whilst I appreciate the technical videos, I’d rather listen to you talk about the simplicities in certain choices of a mastering chain or certain settings in a plugin, rather than university grade scientific explanations on micro adjustments in compression 🤣🙏
I would extend this sentiment to the mix bus and overall mixing. Yes, you can under-process, but the simpler the better. The clarity, punch, depth and bigness will go away fast with over-processing. I hear a lot of over compression out there, and I know this because I made this same mistake myself years ago.

Great video! I like how small, subtle steps make a great difference.
Elephant is a great free limiter

What's the difference between "Maximization" and "Limiting"?

renaissance axx instead of oxford limiter might give you what your asking for!
agree with simpler is better, this mastering chain is awesome might try it at some point
Let us know what you think if you do!
does ozone 11 makes up all of your chain in just one plugin mastering? just curious on whats your take on it..
Is it possible to master a song without using the iZotope suite and still achieve good results? Being honest
Absolutely!
yes, experiment with different chains and techniques until you figure out your final sound it literally does take practice, practice, practice enjoy
Most definitely, you can make a fantastic master using just the stock plugins on your DAW. It's all about knowing your tools and how to use them!
I would want to hear youre opinion on Waves DLX Plug in that iz/was free over black friday Weekend

Is using M/S without PRO-Q3 set to linear phase really recommended ? (your first insert)

@sageaudio thanks
am I right to assume that song is yours and if so have you released it? I’d love to hear the whole thing

excelente muchas gracias
Thanks for this.
You're very welcome, thanks for watching!
8:36 to me it sounds a bit too flat but its ok
Song name?

Thanks for sharing this, pretty solid looking chain!
@@sageaudio thank u for your channel, been following for ao long keep it up🙌🏻
Nice review, but… I think every premaster is unique. I use often (some) surgical eq-ing, which def can microbalance the whole track in a positive way.
Ozone auto is the best 🔥
Is Omnipressor really unique and worth buying for mastering purposes? The plugin version, of course
We think so! It's currently half-off right now as well, so you can pick it up for a pretty cheap $25!
@@sageaudio thanx man! It's 49 against 149 though. But still a good deal
