I’m glad you recommended Tidelands by Philippa Gregory. I’ve just finished it and absolutely loved it. I have ordered the second book from my library and hope to get that very soon. So looking forward to reading it.
Thanks for your honest opinion on this book. I don't like it when a book has an abrupt wrap up. It's like the author has met their page quota, and the story is just over. I would of loved a book on Stonehenge. Would you have any to recommend? Loved hearing sweet Tillie put her two cents in. Looking forward to more of your videos.
Thanks for your comment - yes, IMO the abrupt ending shows a lack of real feeling or respect for the characters he has just put through a traumatic experience! I can't think of any books I've read (fiction or non-fiction) on Stonehenge - but I've noticed that Bernard Cornwell has a novel called 'Stonehenge' - and he is a good writer, so you might like to try that! I'd definitely like to read it myself...
I would recommend Sarum by Edward Rutherford- Sarum being the old name for Salisbury. It's a tale of the English history from the Age to current times covering various families including the Masons who are involved with building Stonhenge and later generations Salisbury Cathedral. He has written books about the history of other places too, Dublin & London for example. Its a while since I read it but really enjoyed it at the time. I think I started the Bernard Cornwall novel but don't think I got far can't remember why 🤔
Yes - I heard that a few hours after posting the video. Big shame (not the right way to go about furthering the cause IMHO) - I hope English Heritage will be able to clean it up.
I read Stonehenge by Bernard Cornwall and it was great.
This sounds like a good thriller, do like a good thriller🎉

I just love Tilly. I don’t think I will read that book so thank you for the tip off
Thank you for the review! This book doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but I do enjoy your reviews. I didn't much care for The Da Vinci Code, either.
I so enjoy hearing your reading recaps - especially when Tilly makes appearances,,,, she is so sweet, thank you for not editing her out 😊.
I love how you say "couldn't get invested in" rather than it was too far fetched to be believable!

Yes! I just finished The Push and was quite annoyed by the ending.

@@booksfrommybookshelf Thank you.
@@linbourne8731 Thanks for the recommendation.
Ironically, Stonehenge has just been defaced by just stop oil protesters. The book sounds great. I love your videos.
