I checked all connections and screws while i had mine open and one connector wasn't snapped all the way in and tighten all the power and dac board screws, some were...loose....and reset to factory defaults and was good to go.... ! 👍🍺🔈🔉

I own one and I love it. But the DAC chip, the ES-9018, is now over 10 years old. Needs an upgrade.

Wish it had come with burr-brown chips...instead.... like the Yamaha cd-s1000.... Yamaha.... !

The ESS Sabre dacs are rotten, the worst are the ES9028 and ES9038. The ones that sound the best are the ES9018K2 and the ES9016, used on the Moon 650D ($9000).

The DAC in this player sounds better than many outboard DACs

If you use this CD player, make sure your amp, speakers and cables are high end as well. Otherwise it will not work well
