Alasdair tips on horror writing: 1:37:38
1. tip - Make a big list of horror you like, make graphs, drill down, this is gonna take a while, at least a week, figure out the motives you like, the stuff that you respond to, and why you respond to it, then work out which stories you want to tell with which parts of those, work out what you will be exited about.
2. Then, start getting funky- work out how you want to pace/structure things (this is a job where research is more fun than any other job, the stuff that you love will become the stuff that you write - your first existential crisis will be: "oh i'm just doing a bad cover version of a horror writer that i like")
3. you need to find people in the industry whose work you like and respect and ask for help, so many of us wish not to be perceived, but this is one of the rare moments when you should be perceived
