FAQ:
Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. It is in the province of Foggia in the Puglia region of southeast Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina enjoys making food for her family in the same old fashion ways as she was taught by her mother and grandmother in Italy, and also new things she has subsequently learned from family and friends in America. She also enjoys gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera and behind the scenes?
Grandma Gina’s retired son-in-law, Nick, does the filming, editing, production, and channel management. Her daughter, Maria, helps with food preparation, kitchen setup and fan support. Also, Grandma Gina usually has one or two grand-kids in the kitchen to help.
Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video! - Навчання та стиль
YOU WANNA EAT??YOU GOTTA COOK!!! Omgosh I just wanna hug her she’s just so adorable and sweet and a blessing
YES!❤️🙏🌲
She reminds me of my Nonna. I miss her cooking and her stories about Italy. She taught me all I know about our culture and cooking. Gina really takes me back to those times.
We need an album of Grandma Gina singing so we all can sing along with it while we all cook!! 💗💗💗
Oh my gosh, never knew you could eat the leaf. What a treasure you are grandma Gina.
I am african American but I love italian foods. I only know how to make a handful of dishes. Thanks to Gina I can cook more now. I love watching her cook. Thanks Gina. ❤️🙏🏽
My wife loves watching your videos. Her father was Italian and could cook just like Gina. He could sing some of the songs and could speak the language. Brings back so many memories for my wife of her parents and grandparents. Always wished that you could put English words on the screen while you sing. Keep the videos coming and thank you for what you do!
Oh Gina, how blessed we are to have access to you! A wonderful day it was when you decided to leave your family the recipes. Little did you imagine your family would grow to over 1 million. Thank you and thank god FOR you. You are a gift!!
Hello my beautiful, legendary signora Gina. It's been a long while since I've watched your happy cooking videos. It is so good to see your cute, smiling face again and hear your cheery voice. "I gotta eat". "Let me taste, let me taste". "Buon-a-petite" "So good, so good". "Buon-a-petite, buon-a-petite". You are priceless! May God always bless and keep you and your beautiful family. Sending you a big, warm hug from Australia. xxx ❤
I have eaten zucchini flowers for years... but didn't know we could eat the leaves too! Thank you beautiful Gina. Much love to you and your family🇬🇧🥳🧡

I never knew that either, but I'm not surprised. Many years ago I went to visit my parents in Italy and my dad came home from the market with a bag full of beet leaves. I asked him what they were for and he said to make soup. He made beet leaf soup the same exact way as Gina made the zucchini leaf soup here! It was delicious!
@@ElizaDolittle we make soup and dishes with sweet potato leaves. Didnt know this about zucchini/squash leaves
Flowers are fabulous.
I was in Rome when they were in season. We ate them everyday 😋
Omg Gina I love watching you I'm 100%Italian and you make me feel like I'm watching my momma &grandmomma

Granma Gina, you are a ray of sunshine. Never heard my family make this and they cooked all kind of greens, this is interesting, but you make everything interesting and fun. God Bless You and keep you healthy. Love you😇

*God bless you our beloved songstress and chef, Mama Gina!* ❤🙏👩🍳
🎉 I just recieved my Nona Gina's cookbook and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I can't believe how nice it is. It is so worth buying. It has everything in it. No more rewinding videos, no more screen shotting recipes, ect. Also, this cookbook would make a nice Christmas present. I will be buying two more for Christmas gifts this year. She even has her canning recipes in it, step by step. The texture of the book cover and pages are real nice, as to also all the colored photos on every page. I am so glad I purchased it. Can't wait to show it off to all my girlfriends. I thought I'd leave a comment to tell everyone how nice it really is and that you definitely get your money's worth buying it. I really really love it!!❤
I always love to watch you cook. I learn so much from you. I love your stories of when you were young and where you lived. I love your cooking as your mother and your grandmother. Every recipe you do tells a story of your life. Thank you for sharing your love of food with us. Will you do another cookbook? Take care and God Bless
What a wonderful way to start this day😊. Making soup with Gina ❤

Hello, Grandma Gina! It is such a joy to see you and watch you cook. Everything always looks so delicious. We love our grandma Gina.
When she put the gravy in, it looks like the perfect Christmas 🎅 soup!
Oh my goodness this is so amazing, who knew that you can eat zucchini leaves in the first place, but to know that they are very soothing to the stomach when you are having a bit of digestive issues is amazing. People need to know this stuff! ❤ To Nonna Gina ❤ Thank you thank you for sharing. As our world gets crazier and crazier people need to return to growing their own gardens and to know that the easiest most prolific thing to grow, you can also eat the leaves???? Mind blown. This can literally help people survive and thrive in hard times.
So fragile they are still helping thrir family with cooking . It's mother's unconditional love.
Gina, You teach us more than cooking. We learn from your peaceful heart.
I just found your channel. I have grown zucchini for years but didn’t know I could eat the leaves and stalks! Learning something new at 75. Thanks so much, your videos are pure joy. 🥰💕❤️👍👍
Oh thank you Grandma Gina! I’m 72 and thought I knew every zucchini recipe! This looks delicious.🌺
I lived many years with wonderful Italiani! I learned so much from them. Now I am old. All have passed. How thankful I am for my “amici’ . Beautiful memories. I also learned to cook many
authentic Italian dishes. After more than 60 years this is the first time I have seen such zucchini recipe. Grazie senora!
You don't waste anything. I love them. Eating the zucchini, flowers and leaves.

Oh Gina! Yes, I wanna eat! I am Native American living in Ontario Canada, near my reservation now. But I was born and raised, and will always be a Jersey girl. I miss all of the Italian Nonas I knew growing up, including my wonderful late mother-in-law. I watch and listen to you, and it brings back. You’ve taught me so much, and in such a loving and beautiful way. I appreciate you. Beautiful memories. Grazie and God Bless!❤

Ciao Gina sei fantastica! Seguo le tue ricette semplici che sono antiche del sud Italia ! ❤❤❤
Gina ti voglio tanto tanto bene! Si intuisce che ti manca tanto l’Italia, le canzoni che canti vengono dalle tue origini del sud. I love it
She is the best chef ever…so very authentic…I just love her ❤
Keep cooking your meals from your garden and from your heart! Love watching you! Love and best health to you and your family!! You’ve taught me how to grow and can tomatoes and my family loves the tomato sauce! Thank you so much!

Gina is adorable!
Thank you for sharing this zucchini leaf soup recipe. I've never seen this type recipe. A good way to add more greens into a person's diet and use everything God gave us to eat.
I've been cooking a long time and never, ever, knew the zucchini leaves were edible! I've eaten and loved the flowers, but never the leaves. How great to learn new things...I'm going to try this! (I love soup). Thanks so much; I love your channel.😊
Yay, its Gina!!...Gina!! You are a serious cook. Wow...i never knew how to cook like this!! Im learning so much. I will try...but i know wont be as good as yours. Some cooking, you have to just "know" what it is supposed to look like, smell like...but i like to try new things! Youre the best teacher. Food from the garden...is so good!! But i dint have a garden anymore. I miss it. Especially the tomatoes!. I take salt shaker and go out to garden and eat tomatos!!😂 Thank you Gina and all the family!!

Gina, so good to see you and hear you sing. We need more of that in this world. The soup looks wonderful. Didn't know you could eat Zucchini leaves. We left NJ. (I miss it so much) now live in Pa. and I can't find any escarole. I ordered some seeds by mail and will try to grow some when the weather gets a bit cooler. I love escarole and beans and miss it a lot. Thanks for sharing your recipe and your daughter has a beautiful garden too. Hope to see you soon. Stay well and safe.♥

Ciao Nonna Gina, sei bellissima da guardare. Riporta molti ricordi meravigliosi crescendo a Brooklyn. Ti auguro il meglio e continua a cucinare e cantare. Dio ti benedica e un abbraccio.
I never heard of this recipe. But it's on the menu now. What a sweet and beautiful soul is Ms Gina. And what a cook!
Beautiful Nonna Gina💗 So happy to see you🙏 I know my Nonna used the zucchini leaves in her soup...in fact, I doubt she threw much away! If it was edible, she found somewhere to use it! The best soups she made for wintertime. Everything that she put in her soups, came from her garden. She canned her soups all summer and during the cold months we enjoyed them. Nothing like the flavors of summer throughout the winter months. I miss her very much.🙏 Thank you Nonna Gina. 💟
Grandma Ginna, you are so cute! I love when you Sing, It brings me so much Joy! I remember my grandma Maria, an Itália Citizen living in Brazil, and i was always around Her, helping with the food, catching herbs for Her to Cook. She also had a garden with a bunch of herbs, and i learned with Her the names...i have Sweet memories when i watch you cookjng! Thank you for sharing your kindness and talent for music and food!!!❤🙏💐🌷❤️

Those leaves have to be full of vitamins! I've never heard of such a thing! I haven't been watching you for a while because I lost my little partner who loved to watch you and loved your singing, GingerCat. She passed over rainbow bridge in May at the age of16. 😿

How much I have learned from you, dear Gina!!! Zucchini leaf soup!!! Fantastic.
I just canned up 2 quarts of tomato sauce from my garden this morning, and I add in basil leaves just like Nonna Gina. Watching this video just makes me happy. ❤❤❤
You keep teaching me new things. Zucchini leaf soup! Wow! BTW, your new hair style is lovely on you.
