Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Very interesting and complex. I was wondering, what do you think of platforms with print on demand, in regard to pattern design? Is it possible to profit from them, or would you suggest other ways of working in the area of pattern design? I don't have a big following yet, but I do have some commercial experience in pattern design.

Thanks for watching. Yes it's definitely possible to profit from Print on Demand, but I'd just say that it's not any easier than other ways to build in the industry. There are specific strategies and it takes a lot of dedication just like anything- I feel like the narrative can be that you just upload your work and you're good to go, cash will roll in. That's definitely not true. I have a little more about the trap of multiple streams of income in this video : ua-cam.com/video/8daSNTI9lqI/v-deo.html

Can you make a surface pattern collection out of photos that have a pretty pattern via mirroring done in lightroom? Looks like a cool wallpaper design etc.

If you want to, sure, as long as you own the copyrights to the original photos.

What’s the best software to use when getting started?
I usually sketch by hand so I will have to scan most of my things but I also want to learn digitally creating.

Honestly, it's what you're comfortable with and it depends on your goals. You may hear Adobe Illustrator is the gold standard but that's not really true in many cases- it depends on what type of art you create.
