You discovered what to me is the best voice I have heard and a beautiful soul and natural artist. This was when she first burst onto the scene in a big way. Everyone one of her performances on this show have gone viral and are incredible. The next year she was in the Grand-Prix for the winners and finalists and the same mind blowing talent was on display. She is twenty now and getting better and better. In voice she is 1 of 1. She is generally classified as a dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones and a timbre only she can produce. And it gets even better. Look into her story on Wikipedia and what she had to overcome at a very young age.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Diana Ankudinova, as close to a Siren as you can get without a shipwreck. There are three songs which, in my opinion, will give you a more or less complete view of her artistic talent: Rechenka, at age 14, Can't Help Falling in Love at age 18, and Paul's Song from the Dune soundtrack, late last year at 20. There is of course far more, anything she does is worth a reaction, but these three will give a good base. She is a voice for the ages, at 50 years old I have never heard a female voice I would put in the same league as her. She is unique and peerless, art is subjective but true talent is undeniable and unavoidable. Enjoy the ride.

This is the first of four performances that Diana gave on the 2018 Russian tv contest _You are Super_ .
She was already famous, but this contest was her coming of age.
All four performances are magnificent, and her superb vocal technique, emotional depth, stunning theatricality, and total command of the stage did indeed leave the judges incredulous.
The performances were so sensational that by the time she gave the fourth, a week before her 15th birthday, the first three had already received 80m views on social media.
For that last performance, Igor Krutoy - one of the most celebrated popular composers - permitted her to perform the song "Tomorrow is a Lie" that he had composed for Lara Fabien (who wrote the lyrics), and did her the honour of accompanying her on piano. Following the performance, and the announcement that Diana had won the contest, he added that he would buy her an apartment in Moscow so as to facilitate her dream of studying there are an elite music school.

Found in an icy winter dumped at a bus stop with a broken collarbone. She is adopted by a great woman. Diana fights stuttering by singing. Then, cups, medals and other prizes from competitions with a weight greater than hers! This is Diana! There is no corner of the world where she is not known, loved and recognized as a phenomenon. To fully appreciate just how incredible Diana is, you need to know what "created" this unique vocal phenomenon:-
Diana is 20yo currently but I've been following her career since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she continually works on her vocals and her upper range. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it often sounds like many voices at the same time! Any song, any genre, in any language, Diana can sing it and improve it!
Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) a passing relative found her in her home with a broken collarbone and several other injuries. She went for the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. At 13yo she held her 1st solo concert and one of the songs she sang was in a very rare Sephardic Jewish/Spanish dialect, a song called "Me Voy" (I'm leaving) with a power and emotional commitment that staggers belief! ua-cam.com/video/-9_c5fPrqno/v-deo.html
She was already winning every contest in Russia and other countries that she could get to. Then at 14yo Diana took part in an amazing Russian project "You're Super!" for abandoned/disadvantaged children (because Diana spent time in an orphanage) The 1st song she performed shocked the judges and audience so much, it went viral. Deniere Danse was her first performance (in French), followed by It's A Man's World (in English). The judges suggested she sing her next song in their native Russian and she chose Rechenka which is considered one of her masterpieces, even at such a young age.
Rechenka is based on Russian folktales about a young betrothed orphan girl who goes to the river, the boundary between the living and the dead, to ask her deceased mother's blessing for her marriage.

Ironically, Diana herself was an orphan who was severely abused and abandoned by her alcoholic mother at age 3. Because of this beginning, she had speech problems and was given singing lessons to help improve her speech. Her talent was quickly recognized and the rest is history.

You have just listened to a true contralto with possibly multi-tonal qualities.. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure” (My opinion), I have been following her for a while. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Wicked Games”, “Take On Me”, "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French, German, Arabic and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful.

But Diana speaks very badly, we don't understand the words and I'm French.

It all started with this song on UA-cam. Diana herself said it was her calling card. This was Diana's first song in the unique competition 'You are Super' 2018 (age 14) ... but she has been singing since she was 5 years old, including professional vocal training.
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered a unique competition and won twice. This project is unique in the world, an international TV- competition: 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace (this video). Diana's performances were uploaded to UA-cam and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship.
