I watched every episode. I'm 68 years old and I started playing chess again 4 years ago after a break of 40 years. Even if playing chess online seem a little bit strange to me and I've only reached a rating of 1300, I love the way you present and explan. And let me note: Even if I'm from Germany and my Englisch is not the best, the calm and friendly way you are talking helps to understand the fun of the game. Thanks a lot.
28. I’m 67 and have been playing since I was 9 or 10. I think the way you have stuck to principles and explained every move it has been the most instructive chess lessons I have ever had. Thank you so much.
I assume a lot of us have watched every episode. This series has been some of my favourite content of yours. Even the low level games are good to watch. Talking through your thought process is a great insight.
Yeah I’ve watched every ep. Even being higher rated than people he’s played, getting the insights into how a IM thinks like this is sooooo useful and helpful.
The algorithm blessed me with this series on episode 13 and I went back and watched the previous ones. Given that some of these episodes are almost an hour long, it's hard to believe I've watched 28 episodes of this, but it goes by in the blink of an eye. This series has helped my openings become much stronger. Now I just need to stop choking to timeouts.
I've watched every single episode. It's therapy for me, you could redo the speedrun for eternity and I'd watch, I love it so much and good for my mental health. I usually watch while eating dinner if I can.
I've watched all of them, many of them 3 to 5 times to grasp the concepts fairly solidly. I'm 73 and hadn't played a game in 35 years, and that just over beer with a buddy-- amateur action for sure. I played a few games starting a week ago, and went from beginner 200 level to 800 in about 10 games, blundering all the way, but with much better board vision thanks to the Speedrun series. When I was younger, I never had a clue on what to do when I entered the middle game. Listening to your thoughts has seriously improved my tactics and strategies.
As someone who is only 900, i am glad i randomly stumbled upon this series and it has quickly became my favourite content to watch on UA-cam. These videos are really informative and enjoyable to watch, thanks Eric.
21:40 I think the reason behind the resignation lies in the fact that after Ke4, the opponent saw h6, effectively trapping the knight. If white tries to save the knight by going Nf3, it takes away the only square for the king after Bf5+. In that case Bf5+ would be Bf5#, meaning checkmate I have watched from the start. My rating is 1400, I am really looking forward to you reaching that rating aswell with your speedrun account. I haven't played for a long time because of rating anxiety, but my new years resolution have been to reach 1500. You have already taught me so much from your videos! Having been a fan of yours for a couple of years now I think, I just want to say thank you so much Eric! You are an awesome chess player, and I am sure you will become a GM some day :-) Love from Denmark XOXO
Hey man. I discovered your channel about two weeks ago. I began watching this series half way through. But because it was so good I went back to the beginning and watched every single episode. Nice work!
Yup. Every single episode and a couple twice so far. I think I've learned a bit more from these full matches than from many lessons just going over hypotheticals or just covering barely past an opening example. Thanks Eric! I'm enjoying these immensely.
I joined at episode 14. Went back and started at the beginning. I used to watch every single Video of yours back in 2020/21 when the lockdown was going strong and I am so glad that my algorythm has decided to reunite us. I have since returned to playing Chess and managed to hit my all-time highest ELO due to your great explanations.
I miss lots of this series because sometimes I’m not in the mood for something this difficult. I need to go back and rewatch the ones closer to my ELO.
You should watch them all bud. Learning from better players than yourself is the best way to improve. Don't be intimidated, you can only pick up good habits from stronger players 👍
I have been watching and really enjoying every episode of this series quite a bit, and it's always nice to see a new one pop up. They have all been incredibly instructive, and there's a few games I've gone back and watched multiple times because they're such good explanations of certain principles or openings
Haven't seen most of your videos, too busy building 2 houses here in Philippines but currently catching up on your content. Excellent channel to learn chess.
Have watched every episode, genuinely the best chess series created so far. Incredibly instructive and entertaining. I only watch and play chess casually, so my rating doesn't usually change much, but while watching these videos my rating has gone up hundreds of points and reached new highs, even though I'm not really trying to. You're just delivering knowledge directly into my brain. I've consumed lots of other content without that ever happening.
Every episode and this is pretty much the only thing I wait for and actively watch on UA-cam right now. Incredibly high quality content, actually explaining everything as you go and understanding how players at this level may be thinking. More than once I've had a question about a move or position only to have you answer it seconds later
I have watched every episode. Several of them I have watched two or three times. I really appreciate your YT videos and thank you very much for them. These speed run videos are presented with lots of explanation and at a pace i like ( your Tuesday night competition games are out of my league... I watch them a bit but I am constantly hitting pause and rewind so I can understand). I am 67 and had not played since I was in my early 20's... I watched a lot of your videos and It inspired me. I started playing again last year on LiChess. Thanks again.
I have watched every single episode! This is my favourite content you have put out so far. I enjoy all of your content, but especially that where you are able to explain and deconstruct what you are thinking or planning!
Eric, I absolutely love these videos, have watched all of them at least once, and have recommended them hugely to my elementary chess club students who are wanting to dig deeper into the game, sharing this playlist with parents who want more for their kid! I really enjoy your calming and humble approach to the game, and love the feel of the speedrun videos. I’m around 1300 online. Thank you for putting these out, so glad I found them! Cheers to you!
I have watched all 80 episodes to date, and am in the process of going through them a second time, currently on 28. These are all very interesting, enjoyable and extremely helpful! Thank you for the time, energy and creativity that you invest in these!
All of them, and many twice. Your commentary is very casual and authoritative, as well as entertaining. This makes for high value and provides lessons that stick a little more. This series is outstanding - thank you. My brother did not know who you were and I pointed him to this series. He loves it too.
I watched the first 15 in a row as they came out, then due to some life circumstances, was not able to keep up consistently with new uploads, but have watched the last 2, and likely will go back and try to watch all of them again from the beginning. These are invaluable Eric and have helped me so much! Still struggling to get to 1000 but these videos give me hope!
I came across the series recently. I've watched all the way through from the start. I was about to read a book called Logical Chess: Move By Move, but I think this series, given your move by move break-down, has filled that niche for now. It is really wonderful to hear a high level player talk through each move. Thank you, for all your efforts in this endeavour.
I've watched every one of your Speedrun videos and have enjoyed all of them! As I mentioned before, it's a pleasure to hear your thought process when making a move. I never had a chess coach. The closest thing was an "advisor" to our HS chess club which had a mere handful of students. He was a teacher and supposedly a chess master but we never had any structured chess lessons from him. And he never gave any lectures on the game. He never gave us any chess puzzles. So we were pretty much on our own. I've learned a lot about chess theory on youtube in the last few years. It's an amazing resource for this game!
I've watched every episode and found something useful in pretty much every one. You're around my rapid rating now so I'm finding things really helpful in these last few episodes. Loving the series, keep it up!
Absolutely watching every single episode. Slowly but surely. Your cadence is so pleasant, and so much of the content is so very instructive! Haven't been taking much literal notes, but I've absolutely seen growth in my pattern recognition from listening to you think through many fairly simple scenarios.
I started watching relatively recently and I'm watching the playlist, every episode one after another. Watching around on eepisode a day so that I don't catch up too quickly and run out of episodes to watch. Thank you for the playlist, I am really enjoying it!
Here we are on 28 July. When I found your site, I saw the playlist and started viewing right away. Even though these videos are 5-9 months, I am going to watch all of them straight through. Eric, you're doing a great job. Thank you
Really enjoy this series and your approach. Watched all the episodes, and for an 1100 like me the 900-1400 portion of this speedrun is gold. Love how you mix up the openings but also find common themes to reiterate. Thank you!
I really like the fact that you mention that you fork pawns as well as pieces. Always underestimated pawns and pawn structures until I started watching your series. I think I've been improving as my rating has been gradually increasing! I'll keep watchinf, thanks!
I too have watched every single episode of the speed run series. Some episodes I watched again to further understand your comments and tactics. Many of the episodes I had to pause the video to try and anticipate the next moves. Love the series, thanks for sharing.
I am watching and re-watching episodes more than once or twice, especially one's with the openings I think will help me. It's a slow process for me, but I think it's helping me with understanding openings, and calculation in general. It's really cool how you let us know how you are thinkging on every move. I don't see rating improvements immediately, but over the long haul I believe I'm developing a solid foundation. Thanks Eric!!!
Watch every single game! Your calm way to explain everything have made me a big fan. And it has improved my chess so so much. Thanks for all the great content
I have watched every episode until 26, some twice, som prob three times. Sometimes i fall asleep to it, i litteraly watch this every night, Please continue making this, its super helpfull and entertaining.
Every episode watched in 8 hours from the publishing time. Some has been watched several times. This series is a mine of knowledge. The approach and detailed explanations makes this series best in YT so far. Keep going and thank you for your work.
Every single one! I’ve shown some friends who play, some are now fans, others don’t have the attention span. Which is crazy to me because I’m super stimulated and learning the entire time. Thank you so much my dude!!!
First time viewer of this series, long time viewer overall. Thank you for all of your chess content, I’m very excited to binge the rest of this series. Gotham brought me to chess but Eric helped me stick around
I have watched every episode. And I can't wait for more. Your relaxing style, explaining every move calmly is exactly what I need to improve my own game. I will probably start over eventually. My favorite chess series on youtube.
You are the best teacher: you speak clearly and do not rush, providing just the right amount of information. Based on these episodes I have changed my entire approach to rapid chess (still struggling around 450 though.) I watched all the episodes, some twice, or more.
Hey Eric, I (almost) watched every episode. Of this. I’m still quite new to chess (oct23) and just playing casually. You became my favourite chess content creater since then. I really like your clear way of educating - always easy to follow - and I’m in love with your Humor. Even when being calm all the tim e you’re still funny and entertaining. Keep it up!
I too have watched every single episode, and so has my Dad as well! We really enjoy discussing your videos, and when we discuss these episodes there's two things that really stand out to us. The first is that when you are considering your moves, it's really noticeable how cleanly and systematically you consider your options. When I am looking at candidate moves I often find myself swapping between them in my mind, looking as deep as I can or for refutations, and if I don't find anything really winning about the move I might then consider another move. If there's no clear winner emerging I might then go back to moves I've already considered and look for things I might've missed, and eventually I'll try and compare moves from a big picture perspective if I really can't choose. These episodes have really helped me to reflect on how chaotically I do this compared to you, as I burn more time and still make more errors. It's really impressive to see how efficiently you move from move to move, assessing them in an orderly fashion and with impressive accuracy, before recalling your assessments clearly so you can make your choice. It's been really eye opening to see how neatly your brain must organise its model of a chess position, and this must be a skill you've developed from a young age with practice. It is something quite abstract that we now try and practise in our own games to get better, and it's not something like opening prep or endgame practice that we commonly see chess content creators talk about. The other thing we've talked about is what we think Young Eric must've been like given your comments about him, particularly now that Young Eric is around the same strength that we are. It's really interesting to know that even though we might be evenly matched up against some Younger Eric, it is clear that the well coached Young Eric would know a lot more about the game compared to us. It seems he would have a broader and more interesting opening reportoire compared to my dad and I, and we assume that his coaching made him much more of a machine in the endgame. We wonder how he might've been weaker such that the match up is still fairly balanced. Whatever the case, we think that even though our rating would be similar, Young Eric would clearly have much more potential to rapidly improve. Again we think that Young Eric has what he knows about the game organised much better, and that would make it much simpler for him to improve simply by playing more games. We feel that we've plateaued somewhat, and it's now going to take time and hard work studying a variety of things before we start to improve again by playing more games. Anyway, thanks for all the great content Eric!
This is probably my favourite series of yours. Super duper instructive - my rating goes up (for a little while at least ;)) every time I watch one of these videos!
I try to watch every single one and plan to binge them in the future. One: They are instructive Two: They Rosen demeanor is inviting Three: you are my favorite chess youtuber.
All of em, every last one!! I’ve seen my skills improve along the way, seeing the board better than before. Thank you Mr. Rosen for teaching in a way that keeps people excited to learn!
Yes, I have been slowly grinding my way through every single episode after having just stumbled upon episode #7 randomly. Had me hooked and went back to the beginning. You have such a fun, relaxed, and carefree demeanor even under times of real pressure. Feels like maybe you should consider hostage negotiations if theis whole chess thing doesn't work out.
I watched every episode. Sometimes - not kidding - i am watching your tutorials when I feel stressed. You have such a wonderfully relaxed and friendly way and such a pleasent voice, it really helps me calming down and relaxing myself. Thank you so much!!
I have only recently started playing chess. I stumbled upon one of your speedrun videos on my home page a month ago, watched it, found it super instructive, and decided to go back and speed run myself across all of the series!
Dear Eric, I watched every single episode and planning to watch them again slowly with a chess board and an analyzer tool. Thank you very much for this very instructive and positive instructions. You really have a teacher’s gift!
I've watched every episode. At first it was some random episodes that the algorithm suggested, but then I realized I really enjoyed the series and decided to watch it all from the start. Now I'm happy when I see a new episode coming up.
Every single episode I believe... Some of them I might have watched with half an eye, and then re-watched again later... Watching you play and teach Eric, almost fixes my bad conscience from not playing enough myself! Take care Eric, we don't want to see you be stressed and burned out again ❤
Eric, I've seen every single episode multiple times! They are go-to videos for when I'm sitting down and having lunch. Thanks so much for all your content!
Watched a couple of random episodes, then started the series from the beginning. Planning on watching it all the way through, and probably more than once. Also checked out the beginner lessons on the Ponziani video and been killing it online! I follow a few chess channels but this is the one where I actually get practical lessons I can easily remember and apply.
I also watched each episode several times. Your voice is so calming that I watch them go fall asleep. These videos calm me down and provide me with something to think about and concentrate on - perfect to stop worrying about life and fall asleep. I also watch these videos during the day to learn something.
I have followed the whole series Eric. From anyone else this could be an insufferable exercise in seal clubbing as you steam roll weaker players but your explanations are wonderful and you are so polite as you "show no mercy". Overall it is a wonderfully instructional series.
Yes, every episode seen. I just love these. It is so nice to hear you calmly explain every move and situation. I even spotted the case when you missed that you can not get the sacrifised Queen immediately back but you got that easily solved anyway.
I'm 70 years old, have no rating at all, and do not play chess. Still i watched all episodes, and enjoy your chess videos very much. I highly appreciate the combination of chess skill, the power of speech, and a perfect attitude.

I've watched every Speedrun episode. Some of them I started watching again. I liked the "Italian" opening for the first several dozen episodes. I also like the fact that the Speedrun episodes seem to speak to my level of chess, which is very beginner...... Thank you for doing them!
Ive watched about six episodes in this series. I watch your videos every night off and on for a few years now. You have a calm and soothing voice and you are a great chess player. Thanks for all the great content, Eric! 👍✌️
I have watched every episode and look forward to them. They’re really instructive to me as a lower rated, newer to chess, player. Thanks for making them!
Hey Eric! I've been watching this series ever since episode 1. It is very helpful because I am learning all the tips and tricks to know throughout the rating ladder. Currently 1600 rating myself and am looking forward to gaining new knowledge to hopefully increase my elo. Good luck with the series and keep on keeping on!
I've watched every episode. Sometimes even two or three times. I've been keeping up with every single video you post. :) Just makes my life a little better.
I've gone back and watched them all, I think this one might catch me up? I appreicate how you explain every move and the pace. You could go macho fast as possible climb but this is far better. For the range of openings you challenge and refute I feel my chess has improved even if I remember only part of your lines. Thank you for these videos!
I so far watched every episode and strangely enough I had the feeling that you might struggle against some opponents but now I have the feeling that you are upping your game as your enemys start getting better, which is super fascinating to see!
I've watched up to the 30th so far and I will keep watching! I love the content and I need to study more. The explanations are very detailed. Thanks for that, Eric!
I discovered you when this series popped up in my suggestions and have since watched every episode in the speedrun (including the "pilot") and now getting into your other content.
I watched every single episode, but I found you when the 5th one was out. So basicly I saw your channel and I saw what I clicked was episode 5, so I went back and started it from the start. I have henceforth watched every episode when it came out as well as your other uploads since I subbed.
Hey Eric! I’ve watched every episode so far and it’s actually helped me improve my playing. Thank you for these videos. I love them! Please keep uploading!
Originally I was suggested to watch episode 16 but when I saw the episode number I went back to the first episode and have watched every episode since, even subscribed to your channel. So this series has worked at least once for your channel!
Watched every single episode. Helped me a lot tbh. I think I was close to 500 when I started watching this series. Sitting at 942 now thanks to your speed run. Big thanks
I've watched all 28... and I'll watch the rest of whatever you make. I'm not even really a chess player but I find the strategy/tactics discussion very instructive and interesting. Thanks!
Like so many subscribers, I have watched every episode, some more than once. It's a great series, and I look forward to catching up after a busy period at work.
I have watched every single episode, and as a player who's between 1520 and 1580 at this level, each episode is becoming more and more relevant to me. Really really enjoy this series.
I watched every single one and I’ve went from 700 to almost 1000, and it feels like I’ll probably be going higher, love the content and it’s super helpful brother keep it up
I can’t get enough of these videos! I watch every single one and my wife has been listening to them and got a rare win against me and she thanks the subconscious information grab. I used to watch you before bed and she would play in her head whether she wanted to or not 😂
I've watched all the episodes in the past few weeks, thank you for all the lessons. One of my favorite openings when I get the chance is the Evans Gambit. So I picked up a few tips in your last episode.
I stumbled upon a lower episode, I believe you were high 700's. For a few days I watched random episodes till I saw you hit 1,000 and have been watching in order since. I will probably go back and watch the early ones once I finish though. Entertaining, calming, and educational - Love them!
I've tried to watch everyone. I think I missed 27 but now I'm getting caught up as I had a lot of personal things to get done. Love this whole episode, Thank you
I have watched more than 15 of your chess playing episodes , most of them recently . I liked the way you put this game simply, and wondered how you build your algorithms quickly so you don't let the opponent to have the chance to win at the end
I watched all episodes, most of them several times. I really enjoy the way you're explaining and I've learned a lot-also by researching some of the lines a bit by myself. You've reached about my rating level now, so I'm looking forward for what's coming. Thanks, it must be a lot of work to do this! (And I'm not even talking about the lifetime spent learning to play like this!)
I watched every single episode- some twice.
The Ponziani one😂
I also have watched all and some twice. Super excited about every one and missed you when you posted these less frequently
U should try watching some Daniel Naroditsky speedruns aswell. They are great!
Same!
same. will be studying ones like the ponziani to add openings to my play
I watched every episode.
I'm 68 years old and I started playing chess again 4 years ago after a break of 40 years. 1300 is a strong rating bud. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Yeah, that's serious play
Love to Germany you have a beautiful country. Unfortunate how immigration is hurting that.
0:28 I've watched all of them, keep em coming! :)
28. I’m 67 and have been playing since I was 9 or 10. I think the way you have stuck to principles and explained every move it has been the most instructive chess lessons I have ever had.

"How many episodes have you watched"
Every single one bro
I've watched every episode of the speed run, while drinking out of my "every blunder is a gambit mug" while wearing my "oh no my queen" shirt.
fanboi alert
I knew this name looked familiar... didn't expect to see a fellow TDI clubber here :)
I've watched every single episode. It's therapy for me, you could redo the speedrun for eternity and I'd watch, I love it so much and good for my mental health. I usually watch while eating dinner if I can.

I watched EVERY SINGLE episode. Thank you so much Eric. Your speedrun are super informative and entertaining.
That catch in the second game was fascinating, mad props to you for analysing so thoroughly in a line that looks so appealing at first glance
As someone who is only 900, i am glad i randomly stumbled upon this series and it has quickly became my favourite content to watch on UA-cam. These videos are really informative and enjoyable to watch, thanks Eric.
ABSOLUTELY SO!!
Best Chess channel on UA-cam by far. You create content that shows the fun of the game and not the pop culture twist of it.
21:40 I think the reason behind the resignation lies in the fact that after Ke4, the opponent saw h6, effectively trapping the knight. If white tries to save the knight by going Nf3, it takes away the only square for the king after Bf5+. In that case Bf5+ would be Bf5#, meaning checkmate

Rating anxiety! LOL! I can relate, but once you lose rating the games get a lot easier!
bf5 not bf3 because the king just takes the bishop on f3.
@@lilpi1645 Yes of course, thank you for the correction. Must've been thinking about if penguins have knees when I wrote that
it happens my brother .no problem@@markthomsen4269

ive watched all 28 episodes and here’s the thing, i dont play chess. at all. there’s just something comforting about you explaining it.
That's outstanding !! (But Eric is very good.)
I watched all the episodes as well as almost all of your videos. Very instructive! The explanations were also very calm, nice, and gentle. Way to go!
I miss lots of this series because sometimes I’m not in the mood for something this difficult. I need to go back and rewatch the ones closer to my ELO.

Thank you!
I watched all of them, sometimes just a game at a time. It’s a nice, relaxing but informative and sometimes amusing way to pass the time.
The best chess series on UA-cam by a country mile. Great pace. Insightful, clear and instructive.
One: They are instructive
Two: They Rosen demeanor is inviting
Three: you are my favorite chess youtuber.
I’ve watched all the episodes so far. Trying to pick up chess as a hobby and have always enjoyed your content in the past. Thanks for doing this!
19:55: IMRosen: "g3 is a very tricky move" (analyzes 5 sequences 6 moves deep). Me (1324): "g3 attacks the knight"
Watched all, in order. Thoroughly enjoyable & educational. I appreciate Rosen's calm demeanor.
Just makes my life a little better.
Eric, I have seen up to now all of the episodes and I am planning to continue to watch it to the end. Learnt something from you - thanks !!!
I'm just starting chess at 49 years old, so I am watching all of it and I'm learning a lot ...so thank you and keep up the good stuff ;-)
Originally I was suggested to watch episode 16 but when I saw the episode number I went back to the first episode and have watched every episode since, even subscribed to your channel. So this series has worked at least once for your channel!
I watched some of the episodes, like 7-8 so far. They are just amazing, thanks a lot Eric for such instructive videos!
I've been following the series since it started. Some of the best chess content on YT.
Thanks!
I stumbled upon a lower episode, I believe you were high 700's. For a few days I watched random episodes till I saw you hit 1,000 and have been watching in order since. I will probably go back and watch the early ones once I finish though. Entertaining, calming, and educational - Love them!
I appreciate that you are very humble being such a good player!
Love your videos as a newbie! 😊
