Yes Teach, Enjoyed this interview ! Sir Donaldson is a very charismatic and jovial person, Jah Bless
It was the festival season of 1971 my teenage friends and I went to the Sombrero Club, Molynes Rd for a stage show. While sitting at a table, a very polite and nicely dressed young man approached us and asked to sit with us. He did not speak after that and had his eyes fixed on the stage and performers.
Then after a short while, the M C declared that none other than the festival song winner was in the house and called him on stage.
To our great surprise, our table guest spang up an mounted the stage. Wow! He brought the house down. Everyone was one their feet dancing and singing along to Oh Cherry Oh Cherry Oh Baby. It was as a blast. Those were the good old days in Ja. when we could go out and have fun without fear.
I love this man .I remember how my dad use to sing his song for my mom.O Cherry O Cherry O Baby
UB40 sung this song. I don't know who singed 1st.

If you listen keenly he stated that he left school age 15 /16 that was the age people graduated from primary school in those days.
Your voice is still strong, loud, the song sound clear and always. God blessings to you Sir Eric Donaldson. Still sound younger. Wow.
Big up to the Legend! Mr. Eric Donaldson. Nice interview.
I am happy to listen to the great Eric Donaldson with his beautiful voice - thats the only way I can describe his voice as he sings and it flows in my ears. All the songs hit the spot but. 'Oh Cherio Baby' I listened over and over as a teenager in Jamaica till now. 50yrs later. Yes JA should name a Boulevard. I hope u get through to USA again. The 'herb' was always a problem for artistes but them cant stop talented singers. Continued success to u Eric and thanks for an informative interview.
Mr. Eric is such a humble man. I personally love his music. And, his voice is still harmonious and beautiful.
Teach them
Respect every time me general..

PRICELESS TEACHINGS EVERY TIME, MY BROTHER.
Teach Dem, you are carving your place in Jamaica’s history using this program. I think you are battling Ian Boyne’s legacy, right now.

My love and respect for Mr Festival Eric Donaldson is endless 🤗 love this legend so much! Sweet music always.
Teach is on a roll: pure top-notch! Eric Donaldson´s "Cherry Oh baby" tune is one of those tunes that we used to play many years after festival 1971: I'll posit that it was 1 of the biggest festival songs ever -- Mick Jagger, UB40 dem covered the tune; the tune was/is huge (even though it wasn't as patriotic as Mr. Donaldson's iconic "Land of my Birth").
Eric Donaldson the festival

I think this is the most relaxing and enjoyable interview you ever did 'Sir, Nuff respect 🤘🏿!
I really enjoy this interview I would watch this every day.
The very 1st time I saw Eric Donaldson, I was going to Kingston on a country bus 🚌 named Orchid from Montego Bay. I saw when he came on the bus 🚌 on the Flat bridge road, by a little district named Kent village and I heard 👂. Some people said this is Eric Donaldson, he had a guitar 🎸 with him at the time. Like he was going to Kingston too, before he did any festival songs as yet in the late 1960s. I remembered when cherry 🍒 obaby came out in 1971 independence August 6th, I was living at Waterhouse at the time of that festival song. I heard some people was talking about those cuts ✂️ in Eric Donaldson face, I heard the same story he was sharing. That people was saying it was Toots cut ✂️ him up,because he stole one of Toots song. That is what I heard 👂 from in the 1960s, but I was very glad that he cleared it up. But as what he rightly said, that most Jamaicans like myself don't know any of his records away from the festival songs. I only learned about them since UA-cam channel came in, and it is so I know that he was in Brazil 🇧🇷 for a while. But to be very truthful, Toots and the maytals in Jamaica 🇯🇲, is a very long time household name 🇯🇲. Long before even his festival song in 1966 with Bam,Bam,it is really, really hard for anyone to beat Toots and the maytals. I been around a very long time so I know all the top singers, in Jamaica 🇯🇲 from the early 1960s. So nobody cannot fooled me so easily, because Toots and the maytals was more popular than Bob Marley. Man like Justin Hinds and the Domino's, Alton Ellis was called the king 🤴 of Rocksteady. But the two most popular singers in Jamaica in 1960s was, Prince Buster and Decker Morgan. Those two guys useto run 🏃♂️ Jamaica hot musically wars, the government haveto beg them to stop the feud.I useto go by Prince 🤴 Buster record shop on Orange 🍊 Street, sometimes I useto go by Randy's out by Parade to listened music.
Good history
Thank you again teach dem
Eric Donaldson is a very true legend 🙌 has done alot for Jamaica 🇯🇲 Mr Prime Minister, take a good look at his contributions in music, he deserve that Ric Donaldson Boulevard along that stretch to Bog 🚶♂️Walk, I would like to see his dreams fulfill, look at Cherry 🍒 oh Baby, Bambang, Love 💘of the Common People,
Ok. Who is gonna interview teach dem. Cause his message reach dem.
