Thanks for this update! I bought it early then learned about it being broken. Knowing it is fixed means that I can happily jump into the game at long last! I'm so excited.
I’m so glad this was fixed. I was getting nervous they wouldn’t and wouldn’t have played it if they couldn’t. Happy to see I can smoothly play a nostalgic favorite of mine.
Now if only we can get a turnaround on the $60 games we buy nowadays with all the bugs and performance problems 😑 🙄 I will be a happy camper.ps I'm glad sony is paying attention to the fans cuz quite a few UA-camrs were reaching out about this plus all the social media reach from fans now we know they listen 🎶 😉
I'm glad that they fixed the game to at least be playable. But, to be honest here, the game should not have had these bugs/glitches to at least a 20 year old or more game to begin with. I think if I'd played this, I'd rather play through the Duckstation emulator in my opinion.
The ironic part about that is that all emulators have the same issues with this game. I had blue graphical lines everywhere and softlocks on dragoons 10 years ago when I tried to play it on my PC. So it's actually a similar issue. I don't know if it's still a thing on PC though
I played through it on Duckstation last year. World map had slowdown when in fullscreen and I think battles had slowdown sometimes during transformations but windowed it was always fine.
This game is actually pretty difficult to emulate even playing the physical disc on a ps2 has issues. Going Dragoon in the fight against the water dragoon and dragon will soft lock the game and I believe it will against the guy in Shirley’s Shrine as well, and I’ve had random freezes while grinding additions so mainly save often. And this was again playing the physical disc on a ps2. The only way to run the game perfectly is on an actual ps1.
Now I can go buy it. This was my first jrpg that I ever played and beat. I still have my greatest hits version I bought from Walmart for 20 dollars, lol.
Yeah I'm shocked it happened so fast. Thought i was going to be done with my playthrough before they would care. Maybe the speed with which they're doing it shows some desire to keep it's reputation strong because they want to remake/sequel it. We can only hope.

So glad that they fixed it… I had my game crashed a couple of times for using Dragoon magic… nicely done by Sony hearing us and fixing what’s broken… next is Tales of Symphonia 😁

I got my fill of the game years ago when I played through the game more than once, with the last entry being my most ambitious of getting all the expensive armors and accessories. I hope others enjoy it but I have a huge backlog to work through. 😊
Even though I obviously don't want games to launch buggy or broken, but it makes me happy that fans are taking a stand about these issues! Bamco also announced that they'll be fixing the Switch version of Tales of Symphonia as well. Again, while I don't want buggy games, I appreciate that they're taking strides to fix their mistakes

@@genesisSOC Basically from what I've seen it's mostly the switch version that has issues. It's the steam and PS3 version from the PS2 version of the game. But it was poorly ported over. Frame rate issues in some sections. The character models being poorly upscaled. I don't care about the 30 frames per second but I guess that's another issue too. And I guess music transition from battle to the field I think...lol also loading times are terrible. I think there was more but I can't remember lol but hopefully they fix it all so I can get a current port of the game and not a bad one...I didn't care at first but once I saw what happened I decided to wait.

I'm glad to hear that Legend of Dragoon has been fixed to be a more playable state. Too bad they couldn't also fix stuff like the 32 Item limit but hey the fact that it's fixed is a godsend for the LoD lovers.
I played this all the way up til u go to Hoax and get Dart’s Dragoon. So I didn’t know about the bug until I saw people on UA-cam complaining. I did notice the audio bug during battle but it didn’t bother me too much. But I’m hyped that it’s already patched and we can enjoy it thoroughly now.
I don't remember any minor bugs in my original copy but my 4th disc was defective and I've heard I wasn't the only one who had bad discs. I was able to send it in and get a new one but that took longer in those days and right after the events of the end of disc 3 that wait really sucked lol.
Be sure to load your in-game save file and not from the save state. Otherwise you will still get audio glitches. So again if you experience audio glitches still then load from the regular in-game save and not the save state from the start menu.

That's interesting how people said some of these bugs were part of the original experience on the PS1 back in the day. I have an original copy myself and if I recall correctly, I didn't experience anything like softlocking the game when doing dragoon magic. Regardless, I'm glad to see that it was fixed so swiftly! the visual and audio stuff didnt bug me but i was wondering why everytime i went dragoon the game was freezing. also wasnt aware the rewind wasnt working, ive been using it since launch with no issues, makes leveling the additions a lot easier lol
The game no longer crashes using spells anymore, but I'm still getting constant audio issues, especially cutting off mid sentence, or no audio in battle.

I haven't played it since it first came out, so it'll be like a completely new experience once I get around to it. WHIP SMECK! BURNING RUSH! GUSTAV WINDANCE!
Kongol was always useful as a tank and was usually the last "man" standing in a near team wipe, especially against enemies that favored physical attacks. Once you put an Angel Scarf on him lategame, he is near unstoppable. He fades out late game because his final addition multiplier is weak, the opposite of Meru who starts borderline unusable, and ends up god-tier. Shana/Miranda are useful as a white mage and for spamming magic items as their magic is very high, allowing you to kill earlier enemies with ease, especially if you purpose stock magic items counter to a particular foe.
I suppose there are people that buy shoes, they come without laces and keep them so in the future the manufacturer could sell shoes with laces?, that train of thought is just crazy.
Well the voice lines are fixed but now the battle sounds don't play like the running sound and the attack sounds unfortunately Edit. After restarting the game the audio seems to be fixed so it must have just ben a small bug hopefully it don't happen agen

I’m glad they fixed it. Consumers work hard for our money to choose where we spend it, and it’s such a let down to receive garbage in exchange for our hard earned cash.
The game has been released only 5 days ago, I can assure you the bugs have not been fixed because of players uniting for fixes. Patches take weeks to prepare, get fully tested and approved, etc. The devs already had a patch ready for a couple weeks, if not a full month, at the very least.
Sony also had it bugged on the PSN for people who purchased Wild Arms 2 on the PS3 weren't able to download it for free on the PS4/5. But! Sony fixed that within the week.
While I agree that we gamers have a lot of power when we come together... The problem is too many games won't do so. For example, PS1 and PS2 games *should not* be locked behind a subscription. We should be able to buy all of them from the store. But too many gamers won't stand with us who want to replay games with rent only models because they feel as though it's taking away from making new games. It's not a zero sum game, but sadly so many people think such.
I've finished most of Wild Arms 2 now and had no bugs, the only slight annoyance being the same abysmal English dialogue. 'Liz' still speaks utter gibberish!
The glitches were always there cause people always tried to play the game from badly damaged CDs or corrupted ISO, these glitches on the PS4/5 by data streaming issues that the emulator had or the fact that they modified the ISO as not to require disc swapping.
I Platinum the game tonight and beat all optional bosses!! This game Is sooo good!! Remake of this game would be a masterpiece but at the same time this game Is too big ,can be separeted in 2 parts!! Btw best rpg ever!!
It's crazy to me that Pokemon V/S is the top selling game of the franchise people should have gotten refunds for how broken it is. It's not okay for games to be broken. Yes I feel bad for the people that obviously have to work on them and put so much into them just to have a company say too bad it's getting released when we said. That's on the company. A lot of companies need to do better.

I really don't understand the sentiment of viewing problematic bugs as "legacy features". I do not look back fondly on losing almost two hours of progress due to this bug occurring after the Regole fight the first time I ever played the game.
Thanks David. I would like to put my hat in the ring on this. I feel like peoples standards have been lowered drastically when it comes to video games quality or game length or what have you. Which is why these companies release these titles with such poor quality. I see these video game developers and companies as professionals so I hold them to a higher standard and expect effort and quality. Look at this Legend of Dragoon release, it was released like what a week ago? Why didn't the company hold back the release until these obvious problems were fixed? This business of releasing bug infested, poor performing titles is getting old. It's like you pointed out, the original title on the PS1 didn't have these issues and performed fine, so with all the knowledge and experience and technology at the hands of these developers why are there so many issues upon release?
Or do you think that companies are releasing these bugged games so that the Internet will go crazy and provide more press for them, and then they release the patch quickly looking like heroes? Glad to fix it but this trend needs to stop game doesn't need to be released with all these f****** bugs and then they're like oh well we get a lot of backlash we need to fix it now.
David is right, at one point I was gonna be quiet and just accept I wasted 10 dollars but I left comments in every video talking about the "release" and how nintendo makes good emulation and sony has messed up and their online service is a mess unless they fix this. dont be quiet, be loud- it will only hurt us in the long run otherwise. I love sony since ps1 but hiding their awful emulation isnt helping anyone. And you know what, if sony keep releasing great classics and take care of their emulation- they have a subscriber for life, just like I do with Nintendos expansion pass right now with awesome emulation from nes-gba.

Being fine with a buggy game and letting them get away with it is never the answer. I mean sure you throw some money their way, but that would only show them that they can get away with subpar quality. If they want to give a sequel or a remake a try, they will and Legend of Dragoon is one of the games where I've seen people be rather vocal about for a few years now. Not as much as say Chrono Trigger, but still. Many people are willing to pay good money for either option, but it HAS to be good quality too.
bug free on the original PlayStation LMFAO that's a good one ( the game was still buggy as hell even back then lenus boss disc 2 for example ) but yea it was not game breaking in the past at least so this is good news

BTW the ps3 digital version always worked fine so when this came out and it was all messed 😑 I was dumbfounded as to how it happened

Well this IS good news. I could just play it on my PS3 ( PS1 physical ) or my digital copy but I would like to see the new upscale rendering. 👍
Hopefully the Symphonia remaster also gets fixed but I'm not holding my breath.
Actually, Bamco has issued an apology and confirmed they will be patching the game!
What's wrong with it? I haven't played it yet, but I loved the GCN and Steam versions, have dozens of playthroughs with it

Sounds bout right. I fight through the bugs and beat it last night and got my platinum for it and literally the next day they fix the bugs.

They Fixed This Quick It Took Square Enix a Year To Getting Around To fixing Chrono Crosses Problems.
Still got some bugs on the audio but i take it. At least I can enjoy the game now

I was told WA2 had issues as well but have not seen any videos or news about these issues and haven’t noticed anything in my 6-7 hours of play time

Glad to hear it's been fixed! Maybe in about 5-10 years, I can emulate the PS5 version on PC, lol. Until then, the PS1 version emulates pretty well.
Thanks David. I would like to put my hat in the ring on this. I feel like peoples standards have been lowered drastically when it comes to video games quality or game length or what have you. Which is why these companies release these titles with such poor quality.
I see these video game developers and companies as professionals so I hold them to a higher standard and expect effort and quality.
Look at this Legend of Dragoon release, it was released like what a week ago? Why didn't the company hold back the release until these obvious problems were fixed? This business of releasing bug infested, poor performing titles is getting old. It's like you pointed out, the original title on the PS1 didn't have these issues and performed fine, so with all the knowledge and experience and technology at the hands of these developers why are there so many issues upon release?

Or do you think that companies are releasing these bugged games so that the Internet will go crazy and provide more press for them, and then they release the patch quickly looking like heroes? i don't know if it's a PS Plus Premium perk but I def got this game free.
Glad to fix it but this trend needs to stop game doesn't need to be released with all these f****** bugs and then they're like oh well we get a lot of backlash we need to fix it now.
Bought it on PS3 store years ago so it was free for me. Glad they patched the new version though.

David is right, at one point I was gonna be quiet and just accept I wasted 10 dollars but I left comments in every video talking about the "release" and how nintendo makes good emulation and sony has messed up and their online service is a mess unless they fix this. dont be quiet, be loud- it will only hurt us in the long run otherwise. I love sony since ps1 but hiding their awful emulation isnt helping anyone. And you know what, if sony keep releasing great classics and take care of their emulation- they have a subscriber for life, just like I do with Nintendos expansion pass right now with awesome emulation from nes-gba.
David, what do you think of the SNES RPG Super Shell Monster Story 1 and 2, looks like a game you might enjoy. Would love it if you reviewed it.

Being fine with a buggy game and letting them get away with it is never the answer. I mean sure you throw some money their way, but that would only show them that they can get away with subpar quality. If they want to give a sequel or a remake a try, they will and Legend of Dragoon is one of the games where I've seen people be rather vocal about for a few years now. Not as much as say Chrono Trigger, but still.
Many people are willing to pay good money for either option, but it HAS to be good quality too.
This tells us that they did zero quality control on this release though.
bug free on the original PlayStation LMFAO that's a good one ( the game was still buggy as hell even back then lenus boss disc 2 for example ) but yea it was not game breaking in the past at least so this is good news
