You can hear the heartbreak in her voice, the jaded weariness. She seemed and sounded both tough as nails and ridiculously fragile at the same time. I wish things had been different for her. RIP Amy

And since you liked Stevie Ray Vaughan and all those All Star Blues guys doing "The Sky is Crying", you should definitely check out Buddy Guy. He's incredible. We saw him last year. He's still touring and killing it in his 80s.

Love was a losing game for Ms. Winehouse - she was caught up with a drug addict and their relationship was a hot mess. She died from drugs way too young. That whole album this song is from is about their relationship; it was the last album she put out before she died in 2011.

it's very few singers voice that can bring me to tears and Amy Winehouse is one of them. I would consider her one of the greatest vocalist and songwriters of all time and she definitely was a voice of a generation, MY GENERATION. Her story is so tragic and we definitely lost a huge and important talent waaaaay too soon. RIP AMY!!!!
She had professional training at a very famous stage school here in the UK. Her album Back to Black was a deliberate nod to the black music of old and so done in that style. She was hugely successful over here until she sadly died too young.
I would 100% recommend "You Know I'm No Good" (great video) and "Back to Black" (also a great video) - but honestly, she was so damn good and there's so little of her work that you can't go wrong.
“Stronger Than Me” off her Frank album; “Tears Dry On Their Own” love the Motown sample; her biggest mainstream hit was “Rehab” which is tragic in itself b/c she died of an overdose @ only 27. She was a tortured soul, every bit of that comes out in her music. Her documentary Amy, is sooo sad but worth checking out. You’ll def see firsthand her struggles and her undeniable talent from childhood until her passing.

Also if you love the rat pack you’ll enjoy listening to Frank Sinatra’s friend and sometimes fling Marilyn Monroe sing “Diamonds are a girls best friend” she was a very good friend of all the rat pack guys! She and Dean Martin were making a movie together when she passed away.
There is a live version of this, she in kinda in a studio recording the song. Pure beauty! The level of feelings is so much she got teary eyes. You should check it out! It really is beautiful!
