MOST Remote Village in EUROPE (Mestia & Ushguli, Georgia)

- In this video of Living the Jo Life, we visit two of the most spectacular and unique places in Georgia, Mestia and Ushguli, which are a 6-7 hour drive from both Batumi and Tbilisi. First, we explore the alpine town of Mestia, which is surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains, lush green valleys, waterfalls, and the famous Svan towers dating back more than 1000 years. Also known as a winter skiing destination, Mestia offers plenty of accommodation, restaurants and cafes options. It takes an additional 2 hours to drive to the remote towns of Ushguli, which is located at 2,200 m above sea level and is inaccessible during winter due to the poor road conditions. Located at the foot of the Caucasus mountain range, Ushguli is surrounded by natural beauty, but it is the remoteness, historic vibe, rustic buildings and the sheer number of Svan towers that makes this place so special. Despite the remoteness of Mestia and Ushguli, we can highly recommend visiting these unique and beautiful locations: a truly amazing experience.

I must say this was a very different video ..I loved the beautiful and breathtaking scenery .Such beautiful and natural countryside with all the animals roaming around with no concern for people coming up and patting them. Just another day on the road. That pig with just its nose out between the bricks was the highlight. I loved seeing all those old buildings in their natural state and how the people lived away from the hustle and bustle of modern cities. So peaceful amongst the chips..[poooo] Thanks again JO's for a view of a different life in another beautiful and interesting place.
Yes it's certainly a unique place. The animals were really funny. Couldn't live in all that cow poop though lol. That's the fun thing about traveling, you really get to see how others live. I also notice that you flone drone there , did you had problems with that .? And the driving was it hard due to broken roads ? . We are from Israel. Thanks for your help

Amazing video !! I'm traveling to Mestia-Ushguli on the 23rd April (in 2 weeks). Are there buses from Mestia to Ushguli and back everyday and in high frequencies?
Thank you for watching! We don't think there are any buses that go from Mestia to Ushguli and back. We booked a taxi through our Airbnb. Our driver was a very good and safe driver. You can DM / contact us on Instagram if you would like the phone number of the driver we had.
