This is such an amazing track. Would’ve been amazing added to like a Virgin as a bonus track after the remastered edition came out. Madonna if you’re reading this, this is one of your most underrated tracks!
Ofc not. This is one of the 4 songs she taped to showcase to Seymour Stein, back in early 1982. The other 3 were "Everybody", "Ain't No Big Deal" and "Don't You Know?", all featured on Steve Bray's Pre-Madonna album released in USA in 1997 (in Europe it was titled "In the Beginning"), rumour has it Bray did it because he still had bad blood after 1989 debacle with Shep Pettibone remixes of Express Yourself. Anyway, Pre-Madonna was once available on streamings but soon removed. I guess this was when M started negociating her new contract to Warner (she has just posted an IG story using a demo very similar to the Pre-Madonna one for "Burning Up," which fans have hinted as a way to announce soon the expanded edition of 1983 Madonna album for its 40th anniversary, which maybe could include extra content. No way Bray were involved on Ray of Light sessions. Despite having bring friends since the Breakfast Club days (her first band, as a drummer than a vocalist; Bray accompanied her on her second band Emmy and the Emmies and on the band Camille Barbone suited for her; her time with Barbone as a manager almost secured her a contract to Columbia Records but before that, M sued Barbone for bad results of her labor as a manager) Madonna and Bray (who had met themselves in their hometown Detroit, and then found each other in NYC) have never teamed after Bray dissed Pettibone's remixes for Like a Prayer singles. I believe both have now a better relationship but Pre-Madonna was most an act of rebellion against Madonna, much like the showing by Camille Barbone of some demos M recorded back in 1981 during a sensationalist programme during Erotica era, which had been released years later in DVD. These demos, although in litigate state since forever, leaked in full and in very good quality somehow in the late 90's/early 00's. One of these demos - "High Society" was sampled for the COADF version off "I Love New York." Sorry for long essay but I felt the need to give some context to this album and why it was released and subsequently removed from all streaming/download official platforms.

this version has an atemporal vibe, i love it. it sounds very ahead of its time and mysterious.
Wonderful
love this version
I like this version
crazy to me how much better the demo is than the album version. happy to have found this.
Stay 81 has nothing to do with Stay from Like a Virgin and both songs are excellent.
Que rola tan mas sorprendente muy de la epoca de los 80s pero sin duda alguna me sigue gustando❤❤❤
1:08 amoooooo ❤️❤️❤️
one of my favorites
Thanks for this video. Yes, my playground....nice and sweet!
Bellissima Stay.
Suena muy bien. Los preámbulos para la gran artista que iba a ser.
This is better than her last 5 albums - all together!
Totally
Rebel Heart and Madame X are horrible albums.
@@atrocchiarebel heart is a fucking masterpiece don't speak on it
Confessions on a Dancefloor is one of the greatest albums ever, but it's better than Madame X
@@spenwilrec4738Totally agree with you. So many decent tracks on Rebel Heart
I like this better than the version on the Like a Virgin album.
Well they are two completely different songs that have nothing to do with one another lol.
Both are great.
they do bc one of the synth lines in this is the main melody in the Album and they lyrics.....@@RockinDaBoombox

MADONNA MI AMOR ♡
❤
This starts up similar to Now I Need You by Donna Summer & Giorgio Moroder.
It’s a totally different song.
Onde consigo o clip dela cantando stay demo pre- Madonna?
Não vai conseguir nunca, pois não existe.
Suena super adelantado para ser de 1981, sin exagerar pero parece descarte de Ray Of Light.
