Hi from Texas, New Subscriber. Good luck on the Trip and I look forward to following you. I’m downsizing from a 2006 R1200GS to a 2011 F650GS in a few days. At 62 and Disabled I just can’t handle the Height and Weight on the 1200 anymore. I look forward to seeing how your F650GS does on the Trip. I’m actually just making a even Trade with someone much younger who will really enjoy the 1200 and keep the Sport going. I’m really looking forward to the lighter Weight and the lower Seat Height, plus I think I will enjoy it more off Road. Thanks for the Video, and actually the one I’m Trading for has everything already on it. But so does the 1200.👍👍
I would suggest showing video close-up clips of the mods you did. Just having a static wide shot doesn't show or tell me of what you have done. For instance the tool tubes you added, couldn't see what you did. Keep up the good work.
Very interesting. I used Touratech stuff...but except for the skid plate your stuff looked good. I rode from Redding,California to Ushuaia over 3.5 years 98% of the time solo. ...both off road and tarmac....on an F650 GS....yes dropped the bike numerous times. Luckily the only problem I had was when the battery failed after a particularly rough section on the Carretera Austral in Chile. Ended up trucking the bike back 1200 kms. Part of the adventure. Great bikes. Looking at doing it again next year. but on a the new 750. I like the mag wheels as they are tubeless and a plug works if you get a puncture.
Nice set up and a great choice of bike for that trip. I have thought the 21" front wheels with spokes were the way to go but cast rims make puncture repairs so much easier. Good luck on your trip. Hit the thumbs up and sub buttons.
azdesertdog Thanks. We've made it to Inuvik and mike bike has had no problems. Friend with KTM1190 has had 2 punctured tires that we plugged, hole in his rad that we JB welded and a leaking fork seal. It pays to be prepared.

What Seat Does he have here? I don’t think he covered this part.
$71 for the windshield on revzilla. I have an 07 f650 gs, revzilla and cycle gear are selling it for $152 now. You got a really good deal

Congrats. Good to hear you are having a safe trip. Can't wait to see the videos.
azdesertdog Now the real work to start editing the hours and hours of footage. Will start looking at it next week. Thanks.
I'm departing from Portland Wednesday. I want to do both the Haul road to Deadhorse and Tuk. I'm flexible. Let's stay in touch. I'm on a GS1200.
Good luck and Godspeed!
Suaga thanks!
great video btw and i think by know you got rid of 650 but how did the panniers and wind screen work hold up ?
To far away gold the camera and go close up, be nice to see the tusk boxes removed on the mounting frame
Is the road from Inuvik to Tuk open yet? I'm leaving in 2 days.
BlackdogGS it's not officially open until November but we're going to try and get on it. Where are you leaving from. We might run into you.
