Brilliant video explains what they both do very clear!!
Wow this is the best video by far thank you for explaining this especially using these two together
Great info, especially the bit about Prime eating other bottled bacteria products thanks!👍

How many drops per gallon for the stability?
Thanks for your informative video sir, I have some qns pls advice
1. My fresh water tank 1year old, I am already used prime at the time of water changing, with salt, can I used stability in my tank with prime at same time with fish?
2. Can I used both in every month not changing the water with fish?
3. Can I used rid all general aid with prime and stability?

Waiting your response sir
So what if your nitrates are in the yellow zone or not cycled not safe but all your other parameters are great. What do I do about that?
Can I add these ever other day in my tank?
Whats better stability or Seed from Aquavitro
How about following the direction on the back of the bottle.
So just checking, you can use Prime to dechlorinate tap water and then add Stability to add more helpful bacteria?

Hi I need advice about my fish tank which I only have a frog and 2 snails in it I always use Seachem Prime and for a while it worked great about 2 days after I do a water change once a week. Afterwards, I check my levels and my Cl2 mg/L levels goes up to 0.8 - 1.5? Not sure why this doing that? I have a 10 - gallon tank for a froggy and I lost one of snail. I been putting a lot more of the Prime in because of this I am not sure why it doing this??? Thank you
How much Stabilty on a 6 gallon tank
First to explain that your tests will show nitrite and nitrate but it's been detoxifide with prime .
hi.. thanks for the video.. when do i apply Prime/Stability? Before, during, or after the water change?
Use prime right before adding water so it can take care of the chlorine and heavy metals. Use stability after to replenish beneficial bacteria
Or you can use prime to help with ammonia spikes like he said
@@thelaughingaddicts5589 when I mean right before adding water did u mean add it in the tank or into the new water before into tank?
Can I add the seachem stability along with the prime for fish-in cycle? And does it lower the ammonia levels? Just wondering before I start just deciding to go between fishless or fish in cycle.
yes you can , if you watch the video how i cycle a fish tank it will cover that
Hello! I have a 5 gallon fish tank with no fish yet. My question is am i adding stability in the tank for 7 days?
Hello, you start adding stability the day you add you fishy friends
Hi I have a question...I have a new setup. Should I put prime first and is it okay to follow it up with stability after?
yes, i always apply prime first then give it a couple mins to mix then use the stability
I'm probably dumb for asking but do I do prime before I add any fish or stability and let it cycle?
Prime should be added anytime you add new water, stability make sure you add it after an ammonia source is in the tank (either ammonia, food, fish etc) since that is what will feed the bacteria you are adding with your stability :)
How much ammonia should I have present in the tank to start the prime and stability to cycle the new tank as my tank has no ammonia in the water right now and has been running with filters for a week just wanted to age the water
please watch my video " how i would cycle a fish tank" it will cover everything for ya ,thanks 8)
Can I add api aquarium salt while am using these both ?
Also, can I use seachem stress guard with prime and stability?
Yes and Yes 8)
@@FishAddicts thank you so much!!☺️
I am starting a new tank 55 gallon with 2 filters running my water has been running for 3 days but the PH is a little on high side should I adjust the PH before doing the prime and stability
it doesnt matter
Hi sorry for the silly question. Do i use prime everytime i weekly change water like 20% of my tank? Then after that add the stability? Great video!
Yes
Declorinate any water you put in the tank
I dont add stability every week tho
That just answered my question I was adding both each water change. I do a 50 percent water change every week. Which I was adding both of these products. That is probably why my tank is cloudy
I am confused, I have both of these products, some other videos are telling me not to use Stability with prime because it will cancel the effects. I am learning everything new, trying to do my first fishless cycle ever.
Yes they are both meant to be used together. They are made by the same company specifically for that. Prime will not remove ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate, only detoxifies it to make it safer for the fish. This allows any bacteria in your system and in Stability to utilize the bacteria existing already.
@@FishAddicts Thank you for the reply! That makes sense, I have been doing my fishless cycle for 4 days now. I am having slow progress developing Nitrate though. What would be my target reading before adding fish? Thank you!
@@trevortheclever1733 Don't worry about seeing Nitrate in your tank for a while, your bacteria has to build up to a point where it can process both ammonia and nitrite first so you'll be looking at around 15-20 days before you will get a readable level. If you are doing a fishless cycle, don't add any fish in until you are finished.
With a fish in cycle they are slowly acclimating to the sub-optimal water conditions so with additions like Prime they are safe, but even with Prime adding a fish mid-fishless cycle would cause damage.
Hello, for example, i add new fish to my tank, i also add stability to tank?
I would -yes
@@FishAddicts thank you
I’ve heard that it smells bad, how long does the smell last for?
Also I’ve had my aquarium fir years. Can I start to use prime and stability for new water changes? It’s just that I’ve seen it on offer and I’ve heard it’s good.i was going to purchase it tomorrow, so any advice would be deeply appreciated. Thankyou
Hi Leanne, the smell is only noticeable coming from the bottle! You can absolutely start using it whenever you would like, it won't change anything that you have used other conditioner or bacterial supplements before!
Aww Thankyou for the reply, I’ve just heard good things about it. So I thought I would try something new.
I used a different water conditioner that I’ve never heard off because I ran out of my regular one. (But I also added a new Corydora fish) It caused like a bacterial bloom, with like fungus. It made my tank so cloudy and it smelled so bad really bad . It took several water changes to get it right, I still don’t think it’s 100%
So I’m hoping the prime will help along with the seachem stability and the stability.
@@Leanne_w buy seachem safe, its the same thing with no smell!
Is Stability supposed to bubble like peroxide when you shake it up? I’ve never used it before and read or heard to be careful about people using it and filling the bottle with water or something to return it, and when they resell it to you it isn’t the right stuff inside. I can’t imagine this ought to bubble like peroxide or boiling water after being shaken up..
We've never heard that before, if you're concerned about something like that the best thing to do is contact Seachem directly. It may be because the product is more viscous then water so takes a bit longer for the bubbles to surface after shaking and dissipate. Also make sure you are storing it in a cool place as well.
Fish Addicts how can i cycle my 55 gallon i pick up my fish this weekend and haven’t started i only own one tank
Trisha Meloling Hi Trisha! Check out our How would I Cycle a Tank video for a more in depth fish-in cycle process!
I don’t have anything in my tank I’m getting a fish In three days should I keep my filter on while adding the prime?
Yes, you should always keep your filter on, as your nitrifying bacteria needs water flow to live and reproduce. The only time that you should turn your filter off is when you are doing maintenance specifically to the filter or a large water change and in that case you should get it running again as soon as possible. Prime will slightly decrease the oxygen content in the water, and your filter breaking the surface is your main oxygen source so if not you have the potential to loose fish.
Fish Addicts thank you so much
I added stability for 2 weeks and I’ve been adding prime and ammonia, I’ve been cycling for 3 weeks but no nitrite or nitrate... should I keep adding stability? Do they die off after a while if the ammonia is too high? The ph is 7.2 btw
Hi Olivia, unfortunately this is something we hear of commonly when people are doing fishless cycles. What is your ammonia level right now? High levels of ammonia will stall the cycle as well as having too low. Your PH level is fine for nitrifying bacteria growth (actually if it is under 7 is when that ability is hindered) If you don't have fish in the tank you do not have to use Prime everyday-only when you add water to your system.
Fish Addicts I have the API test kit so I know the ammonia is somewhere between 4ppm and 8 but idk exactly. I figured that’s too high so we did a 10% water change today. Should I start over with stability once the ammonia is down below 5?
You can also add fish food ther for it will break down and start the ammonia up to start the cycle!
Can I add these in the tank. When the fish are in there?
yes you can
Can i use both in my tankwhich is by now infested with hair algae? Please advise how🙏🙏
yes, neither product will have any effect on any algae-positive or negative.
Will the seachem Prime will it kill a Fritz Turbo start bacteria
to play it safe I would add prime in the morning and the bacteria when your turning off the lights to go to bed
If I'm cycling a nano tank of 5 Gallons I put a molly on it, how much prime should I use and how many times?
.5 mil everyday until the tank completes its cycle which normally completes in 30 day but can go as long as 45 days
How
many drops of stability per gallon?
Can I also use quick start with these? Do I need to?
nope, just these 2 products 8)
So I see the stability directions are for 7 days but do I use the prime for 7 days as well?
@@phillyqueso9164 if your cycling the tank, use prime until there is no ammonia or nitrite present which is usually approxmtely 30 days but can finish a lil longer or shorter.
Hi , I will am having a 50 L tank with some fishes in it, I have not used any solutions in the tank , have some questions regarding this
1)Should I need to do a water change before adding these both solutions ,since my tank is like 4 days old
2) what is the proper dosages for both solutions and for how many days
3) can I add these solution with my fishes in the tank
Hi, for your tank the dosage would be 1.3ml of prime (one time dosage whenever new water is added), Day 1 after an ammonia source is added will be 6.5ml of Stability, and 4 ml for 7 days following
They are both safe to add with fish in and no you don't have to change the water before adding them!
@@FishAddicts hi , I had changed my normal sponge filter to new eheim canster filter and I added seachel matrix also and tried seachem clarity ,but thr tank is not getting clear .
Should I do a complete 100% water change or should I remove the small from below the tank and make it bare bottom .
If I do complete 100% water change ,should I need to add stability for again 7 days .
I feel there is some problem with my aquarium , did a lot to save the fishes ,but every thing going in vain
@@terilmathew5324 Have you been able to test your water at all? It sounds like a bacterial bloom which is totally normal especially when filters have been changed. Often times changing water more will make it worse and last longer
@@FishAddicts I have done the test today
Tetra Aquatics Measurement results - 15. January 2021:
Nitrate mg/l - 0
Nitrite mg/l - 0.05
Total hardness °dH - 6
Carbonate hardness °dH - 9
pH value - 6.9
Chlorine (CL2) mg/l - 0.2
Carbon dioxide mg/l - 20
@@FishAddicts today i have noticed that I have 6 congo tetra and they are having white spots on their body and one gold fish is having red spots
Please advise what can be done
I'm fishless cycling a 20 L freshwater tank and started the cycle 5 days ago brought prime today put my first dose in today 1ML
How long untill I add again and how long do I continue use for ?
My local pet shop told me to use 1ML but never explained everything ..
Whats your opinion ?
Should I get the stability ?
Also my pH level is at 7.3 and pretty stable But I'm trying to get it at 7.0 is 7.0 - 7.5 good enough or should I continue lowering ?
Just trying to do everything properly🤙⚠️
There's no need to keep adding prime in unless you're doing a water change.
Ur doing fishless cycle, u dont need to add prime
3:14 This is the most important point, u have to use both products together
