    Keep In mind most of the jobs aren't for a full year only for the season. So its really not as bad as you think.

      They can have a second job but cheerleaders do have practice and have to work you whole life to get the position. They also have public appearance(team image).

      Exactly you work 5 months out of the year maybe 6:00 with the playoffs in the super bowl and you get a quarter million dollars that's pretty good, also most teams don't take the cheerleaders on away games with them they just have them at home games and not all teams have cheerleaders.

    How to become an NFL referee:
    1. Start in youth football
    2. Work your way up to varsity football
    3. Work your way into college football
    4. Get scouted by the NFL (yes, the NFL does have officiating scouts).
    5. Get into the NFLOA development program.
    6. Get a job in the NFL.

    Water boys are usually athletic trainers with degrees working there way up through a team once they are out of college so 53,000 makes sense since they are not just “water boys” Per se

      I wish more people looked into it. This is their internships after going to school for however many years needed, only a couple are like teenagers or a special case.

    Cheerleaders practice but put significantly less time into their jobs than water boys who travel with the team and have to be ready during all practices

      These are NFL cheerleaders…. They are more just models who jiggle around… these aren’t like HS and college cheerleaders who do all the tumbling and lift routines or even like the power dancers of the NBA squads.

      Also the only one who job isn’t actually helping someone/something. If you spend your time and effort learning a skill that isn’t helpful or practical you can’t expect to be paid lots of money to do it. Would you rather
      1. Be a referee - where the players could all kill you on accident or greatly injure you, plus death threats from fans and players that can lead to violence, and added stress of making a wrong call that could leave tens of thousands of Americans hating you
      2. Dance around with your friends
      I don’t really see how a water boy should be payed so much tho, but even they are helping players stay hydrated

      No it’s probably if you’re a stadium employee working year round so you’d need to include any concerts or events in that. It’s an hourly wage so you need to be there working to make that

    Waterboys are with the team throughout every game, every practice, etc. and they go to every game, the cheerleaders only do home games, so that’s half the time.

    That’s because waterboys in the nfl are actually not water boys like in high school. They are physical trainers who happen to be the ones handing out water since keeping players hydrated is a part of their job which obviously is more than just handing out water. Think of it as more of the trainer you would have on a track team in high school

    The “waterboy” is a certified athletic trainer usually as well so technically they’re underpaid but could make over 100,000 if they become head.

    To be an NFL ref, you literally have to dedicate your life to doing it, taking over a decade of refereeing games to have the experience to even be considered for it. Cheerleaders getting paid 22k makes sense they literally are just eye candy they dont do anything.

    The cheerleaders job pays for itself. They are able to get endorsement deals, modeling jobs, commercial gigs, etc. Most women would cheerlead in the nfl for free.

    This country is ridiculous. Everyone of these people could easily make over $50k and the NFL would still make billions. $50k is barely survivable nowadays. I get that it’s probably just during the season, but we got players making 30-40 million per year. Pay the workers!

    This is total bs i knew 2 nfl cheerleaders one for the cowboys one for the redskins they made pennies however the opportunities that some of them had gor folllow on jobs were pretty amazing but just like anything else that was 10-20 precent of the cheerleaders.
