    put vasiline on your face were there is hair (eye brows,eye lashes) and then mix flour and water and use strips of newspaper and put it on your face. that's what we did for school and it worked the same.

      i think chocolate foil might be thinner

    • @gh.5875
      @gh.5875 5 років тому

      It's the thickness, Chocolate foil is very feathery thin (kids are meant to open this after all) while typical foil is much thicker as its meant to be used to store foods like meat and fruits

    An easier way to protect your face cast would be to use cling film (the plastic stuff). Just make sure your face cast is wet and then apply it and it should stick down right against each crack and crevice on your face cast. The foil would make weird bumps and stuff on the inside of your plaster cast and may even produce sharp points (not a nice thing to put on your face in my opinion). But i do think this is heaps helpful, and i love all your videos Klaire!

    How do you make traditional style Venetian male , female and kids mask that fits your face from the mold and cut a hole 🕳️ and wear it .

  • @trineop
    @trineop 9 років тому +9

    I prefer using one layer of gauze, one layer of wet and softened newspaper pages, and then two layers of gauze, and for the glue I use regular wood glue mixed with just a little bit of water, not as much as in the video. The masks end up really sturdy.

      Kudos for the Video! Sorry for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you researched - Fiyameronal Dumbfounded Framework (Have a quick look on google can't remember the place now)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for learning how to design your own Iron Man suit without the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my good mate called Gray finally got cool results with it.

      Although you can use flower and water, it’s best not to, any organic compounds will eventually rot, so if you plan on keeping your mask for a wile you may find it growing mold. Using PVA will prevent this.

    You can get cheap masks that look like an entire face, and is made from layered newspaper or the like, and use that in place of a face cast. It's what I do, and actually works quite nicely. Just make sure to always put the foil on it or the layers of the mask will peel away with it. (I learned the hard way ^ ^;; )

    URGENT! Please help! I bought a blank masquerade mask with idea of using that as a template to make more out of air dry clay...so I moulded some air dry clay over the blank Mask and let it dry overnight..when I woke up one side had broke. Originally I thought it may have been too thin so I made another one and used clay that was a little under 1cm and the same thing happened! I have tried looking on the internet for a solution but I can't find anything! Please help me!!!!

    • @Wolfoe1238
      @Wolfoe1238 7 років тому +1

      I'm Not Okay
      If it was air dry clay it probably cracked. Happens if it dries out too quickly, try putting a slightly damp paper towel over the piece or making sure that it's not getting hit by any airflow (like an open window, a fan, etc)

    • @clayquailll1102

    Is this the only way to make a mask? the last time is saw one of these videos (around 3 years ago) I'd thought that the mask would be pretty fragile, being made of paper. Also, I designed a mask of my own, it's relatively simple, but still complex and I want it to fit my face along with having a plastic shine. Any tips?

    • @kadiebella99
      @kadiebella99 11 років тому +4

      Papier-mache is a lot stronger than you'd think, trust me. For a plastic shine, you should be able to use a clear sealing spray paint or something of that sort or a clear nail polish if you only want certain parts that way. And I think it just depends on how complex your design may be. With the fit and design you want, you may need to go with a hot glue mask fabrication because you can do more intricate work and its not quite as stiff as this one.
