I don't think it's just wistful nostalgia on my part. TV adverts really were more interesting in those days. Bright, colourful, catchy, creative, funny, heartfelt, high-budget (sometimes) and very memorable. The coco pops advert is an absolute classic. Shortly after this they introduced Charlie who sang, "I'd rather have a bowl of coco pops".
We didnt have colour til 1981without a remote. But touch sensitive buttons. Which would steam up if the cookings from the kitchen got to it & you couldnt turn the thing over. No VHS til '87. Then finally teletext with nicam ready stereo in early 1991. I found out though garble subtitles would show on old video recordings. Thankfully i have more to do these days. 😂😂

There was a crossword on Oracle?! We didn't get a teletext telly until 1990.
