Azusa Canyon Off-Road OHV, 2-4-24 Will the hydro-locked 4Runner get towed or driven home?

- Azusa Canyon was a quiet day until the 4Runner takes a dip in the lake! We worked on it for a while. Special thanks to Andy of The Few, Gustavo of Compton Auto Center, Cajun for thr sockets, Dirt Media crew, and at least the motivators. I believe this was our first time ever having the engine to hydro-lock on us. Luckily we didn’t bend a rod and with some help and tools we had the 4Runner taken apart.

@mudgyver5205 let me know if you ever need any welding or fabrication on your truck. Not the best fabricator or a welder. But I do my best.40 years off roading never had a weld break. I really appreciate what you bring in to the canyon your presence your ability not to mention the videos. You are an asset to all the off road community with your wisdom gracias brother
I do my fabrication too. Not the best but have managed to put my trucks together from my own ideas. I’m just someone with a winch that tries to think about reactions prior to our actions. We do what we can to help where we can. A bit of preparation before going to Azusa enhances the trip. Thank you again Hector.

Good stuff brother. Hydrolock doesn't always happen to good engines. Same thing happened to my 03 BMW with a 4.4. Shut down as soon as I hit a deep unknow puddle. I was scared as hell but once I pulled the plugs and did all the sweating, Fired up with no issues. Be safe brother. Subbed.
Well I’d rather say I was lucky rather than think I knew what was going on at the time of letting the truck have a drink. I was inching forward then the front end just dropped in. My fault totally but it can happen to anyone. I guess we were both lucky to get our vehicles running again.

Yes I agree you are a good guy to help others as you do . I got my rig out of the shop only to see no spots for Azuza canyon. Do you know why it is shut down and for how long. My girlfriend and I went there you were gone but solonos invited us to hang with them for the day . I'm
Thank for the kind words. We just enjoy helping where we can. Once the river subsides a bit they will reopen it. That first river crossing gets brutal for even the biggest trucks. Imagine a close to or a stock truck. We are going to other places to play for the time being. We will see later in the week what develops for the next trip.
I know that feeling...but I wasn't lucky.

@@mudgyver5205 my jeep was drenched from a river crossing when I was in Montana, pulled the floor maps and carpet found drain plugs
@@taylormade710 I have pulled the drain plug before. I just don’t want to get sick right now. The flu can mess me up really bad.

I’d suggest you can go any Sunday but go and park. Watch what everyone else does so you can learn from watching. Make sure you have recovery points on your truck and a kinetic rope. I usually go and park. Help others as needed. This time I needed the help and felt good to see all the help. 🙂🙂🙂
