Good L/S of a large windmill. Diagrammatical drawing of one of the earliest kinds of windmills which was built on an oak tree and was shaped like a wooden hut. More drawings showing the development of the mills down the years.
L/S of a man pushing hard on a large pole to push the sails of the mill round to face the wind. Several more diagrams of the evolving mills which included the 'Flyer mill' and the 'Smock mill'. L/S of a working 'Smock mill' L/S of a stone 'Tower mill'. Cross section diagram of the workings of a mill, an animated arrow point to the key components which include the gears, hoppers, millstones and meal spouts.

First mill is Horning Ferry Drainage Mill, second mill uncertain, third could be Cranbrook in Kent, fourth could be Benenden, also in Kent. Dutch mill uncertain
