Kudos to these men, they are breaking the stereotype that only women can knit :D I wish I could find a huge group like this. I think I'm the only person who knits and crochets in my area, or at least the only one who carries it around in my purse if I'm going to have to wait in an office or something. I've never seen an ad or a flier stating that there is going to be a knitting circle :(
Very nice. I've been knitting for a few months and am learning to crochet as well. I love the craft, oh my the different colors and textures of yarn are amazing to me. This was real neat to see, I'm fascinated when I see men knitting and or crocheting.

I'm so glad I came across this! I really believe more guys should do this because they add a different dimension to it artistically. Like that invention for instance with the needle caps for travel. I would buy a couple of those definitely. That's incredibly handy! The approach is fantastic I saw that that little clip from Ledova I think it was. That sweater was amazing all the colour changes reminded me of what my family used to term as "Fair Isle". The design work was spectacular. It was a great combination of those countries incorporated together.
For years I have read in Piecework magazine of men who publicly and privately engaged in needlework. At times it puzzles me that modern view point is that only women do this. My dad had watched his mother knit and was the best at describing to me how to figure patterns out. My two sons have knit and crochet and sew (machine). One, a Marine stationed in Iraq had many of his fellow soldiers doing handwork. Interesting experience to refresh his memory of knitting through emails, lol. In reading it is my understanding that before 200 years ago men dominated these arts.
The local community centre run a free knitting and crochet group. Have attended and made a load of new friends. The person that teaches the knitting and crochet is man. I have learned a lot since joining the group. The group has many new and old members of all ages and cultures.
