    Thanks for doing this. This clears up the questions I had. I believe on the 81-83 cars, they came with a slightly shorter radiator (the bottom 2 rows were removed) and the oil cooler tucked right under it, but the later cars (84/85) used the taller full size radiator and it covers up the factory mounting holes. So most folks that do the conversion move the oil cooler a little forward and mount it in front of the rad. You just need slightly longer lines. Either way, there's plenty of room under there to fit it.

      Perfect. I have never owned anything but SA or GSLSE. So I haven't much experience with the early ones!

    Of those 4 derelicts I scored one is a 1981 confirmed by decoding the VIN at NHTSA and it has a front mount cooler and radiator. Have a guy locally wanting to buy the cooler and came across this vid trying to figure out what to charge for it

    Do non beehive engines use a thermostat for the oil cooler? So I want to do this to my 85 12a. Do we need to find an aftermarket thermostat to control oil flow?

    Can I run a thermostatic oil filter pedistal and run it with the beehive ? Just wondering.

    I wanted to mount it on the tube at the front of the car? Recon that's a bad idea?

      I have a video on this, although not specifically geared to a 1980 rx7. I have one that outlines the newer ignition

    You ever tried to fix a floppy front bumper cover? Mines held together with tape and I wanna fix it but can only think of riveting it back together with slats of metal to bridge the sides.

      I'm not a super confident body guy, but I do have my fair share of rotten bumper covers and valences. Ill note it and look into it

    Would you mind showing how to throttle assembly on a Nikki goes on? Like the parts stretched to the primaries, I’m in the middle of a rebuild and I misread the instructions and am now stuch

    Hey can anyone tell me on the 83-85 beehives is there 2 o rings to replace or 4? I've gotten both answers. Took mine off yesterday and there was only 2. Went to order some from mazdatrix and they say you need 4? Can anyone tell me lol?

      @motoredbikemadness2061 2 роки тому

      Did you ever figure it out? I believe there’s 2 more under the oil cooler pedestal that mounts the beehive to the block. But I’m not dead sure, I’ve been reading this same debate on the forum over and over (I’m about to do the o ring replacement)

    Think its worth it to hollow out the fat cats on a 83 gs and plug up the air pump tube? Mine imploded and I'm running no exhaust now

    • @RADPotential
      @RADPotential  4 роки тому

      Ideally you could just find a header. But it won't hurt it to have increased exhaust flow
