Thank you for sharing your face shield information. It’s reassuring that you take your personal safety into account on your projects. You are an inspiration to young women and should be teaching them in a STEAM or STEM trade school. Thanks for sharing this video. Wishing you a great week.
Peggy, you never cease to amaze me! I had my doubts, but thought you could turn the whole thing off in a minute if it was too bad. It turned out really interesting and looked like a lot of fun doing it. Great job, as usual!
It's got everything. Figure, sheen, natural beauty and color. You have the woodworking skill to spin it and the artistic talent to go your own way and create something unique. Keep it up. Great narration. Thank You for posting.
This turned out really nicely. Looks like it would be a really nice fruit bowl for the dining room table. Love the blended blue color on the outside also.
I heartily agree tht it is important and even vital to keep experimenting and following your instincts. I am 85, been turning for over 30 years, and I still learn new technique and new ideas all the time! I have recently bought some pearlescent paints that I have used to embellish some rims, but this video inspires me to get bolder with them. Well done, keep going!
I thought the 1st paint after you had done the black made it look like Nebula and very space orientated and loved it at that point :). I hope you win this time I think its the 3rd one I have seen. Hi from South Wales UK again :)
Lol I could see perhaps go for the nebula look sometime 😍. See us welshies are following you. Hi bro from Wales ❤ same old me Peggy had another account dissappear. But deliberately this time by me will stick my photo in soon so you can see
Beautiful looking piece Peggy. I have to think that no matter what the medium is there is always beauty in it waiting for the artist to bring it out.❤️
That was really wild, Peggy. I don't usually care for coloring wood, but your result was amazing. Reminds me of a piece of copper which has been exposed to the elements for decades.
Finally catching up with your videos. Still love what you do and your voice overs. (even if I am not a fan of painting wood). I really like my Trend Air Shield!
Yes, i often thought you really made a mess of it, but always trusted your feeling was better as my judgement. And you didn't fail me this time Peggy. What seem to be a little out of balance, became a wonderful artwork. I have to compliment you again. Thank you for sharing this stunning video. 🌹
Great video once again. I'm not a big fan of paint on wood but I always tell people that not all art forms are for everyone. Michelangelo probably wouldn't have liked Picasos paintings that much but it doesn't take away from either of their work. Keep up the great work.
Nice bowl, my only change would have been to have the natural part on the outside with a small step out. I wasn't sure how it was going to look when you were dabbing the paint on - but yes - it works for me as a feature. Great job.
I enjoy your experimentation with colors and epoxy so much. I was ready for you to stop after putting the black on, the rim really popped against the black. But I was cheering when the balloon came out. Love that modeled effect. Like you chiseled it out of a crystal or Geode. Peace Out -eh 🐱👤🐱👤✌✌🖖🖖
That started out kinda wild looking but the more you worked with it the more it started coming together! Did you seal the painted side? Plus, can you comment on your new face shield? (Nice) As always Peggy thank you for sharing! ✌🏻 out
Thanks, Bill. Yes, I sealed it off camera. My new shield is a Trend Airshield Pro. I absolutely love it! I wish I had bought it sooner. What a difference it makes! Link in video description if you want to check it out for yourself.
Beautiful colours ! How did you sneek a peek through the HUBBLE TELESCOPE to get that atmospheric intergalactic view of the Distant Galaxies. Just keep that fabulous mind and imagination working PEACE OUT X
Wow! I noted the chatoyance on that wood even as a rough blank! As for the bet, it can't be for him to visit because you visited Florida a while ago, so it's his turn, anyway... I must admit that I might have yelled at my computer screen a time or two as the paint went on the bowl, but I've learned to wait to see how things turn you- you've surprised me in the past! In the end, I think the paint is interesting looking, almost like stone; it is beautiful, but I'm still not running to the store to buy paints for my bowls.
I agree with you the figure wasn't very good. The paint did make it look a lot better. You are good a picking the right shades to go together. Looks great. Have a good week.
That's beautiful Peggy I love the black grain that came out on the rim it really ties in with the paint and I absolutely love the paint you are a truly magnificent artist as well as a turner 👍👍👍 ps what is your honest opinion on the face shield I have been looking into two different types and this is one of the two. Many thanks in advance ❤
Thanks, Gavin! I love the trend airshield pro. And I’m not sponsored or paid. I bought it myself after realizing that I needed more protection long-term.
In your description I did not see what Chuck you were using. I also have a revo 1836 and am using a 1"x8 tpi chuck with an adapter. I've been looking for a 1 1/4"x8 tpi. Nova's Titan III seems to be out of stock at every webb site I go to. Any other seggestions?
@@PFWoodturning Thanks for the reply. I read the description of the G3 when I first started looking, didn't realize it came in 1" and 1 1/4" models. The 2" Jaws are what my G2 have now. I don't think 2" Jaws will hold a 16" chunk while coring it. What's your opinion?
I've been using the Trend Air Shield Pro for a couple of months. I really like it. The best thing is that I can't hear my wife when she pesters me while I'm turning. :)
For some of us non turners,I just watched you turn a bowl from start to finish in about 14 minutes. Now, of course, I realize that most of the video is extremely sped up.what I’d like to know is what is the “real time” investment in this particular turn? Is this an afternoon project? Is it a weekend project? I’m sure drying time for paint, stain, or finish has to be considered. Thanks, James. I don't really keep track of my total time turning each piece. But in my rough estimate, minus drying time, etc, this one would be an afternoon project easily. The blank is already round, I just have to mount it and turn it. That's the easy part. The harder and more time consuming part is the paint and then finish (i put lacquer on this one, off camera, about 5 coats). and then sanding the foot and branding it after that.
I thought the bowl came out nice. I liked the color. Did seem like an excessive amount of paint for how it came out. Like you said, experimenting with color, I still do.
