- Some moments in life you'll never forget like our experience in the desert of Dubai. My tour for this trip is Jacob from Platinum Heritage Safari and he was an outstanding host. He picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the desert.
Along the way Jacob had extra time and passed through the Camel race track.He explained how tjey race camels in Dubai.Once entering our destination we were greeted with cold drinks and male camels. Local guides walked our camels for about an hour through the hot desert.I was completly shocked how much the camels obey.Upon ending our camel ride we got cold drinks again and saw an amazing falcon show. The sunset back drop was undescribable .Jacob drove us to our final destination where they had hot foods and local culture entertainment.
At the end of the evening Jacob drove us back to our hotel (hour drive)

Camel toe aside, what an amazing adventure! Dubai is fascinating, I always assumed it was unrealistic for us common people to think of visiting there. All the people you have run across are so nice and hospitable, hopefully that wasn't just for the cameras. Too bad Dubai already has a King - but then again so does Haulover!! I bet the King of Dubai isn't 6-2, 235, and shredded!!!

They look like Australian camels! Seriously! They were bought out to Australia from Afghanistan in the late 1800s for transport in our deserts along with Afghan handlers, and when trucks eventually took over in the 1930 to 1940s the camels were let run wild where they flourished. They eventually became pest...too many of them but are now exported back to the middle east! Love the old land rovers. Learnt to drive In one of them 55 years ago.

Had a similar excursion when in Egypt, camel tour around the Pyramids, and it was awesome. Only problem was they wouldn't let me off the camel till I tipped them(baksheesh)😊
