Very similar set up to your self. Halifax reward account as main account for the £5 back plus at the time there was an offer of £100 for switching. But most spending done an Amex cash back card. Then opened a Starling account purely for no foreign transaction fees and did not like the idea of Monzo’s limits and deposit charges. Just recently got a Barclaycard reward card for non Amex places and overseas effectively reducing Starling to back up and overseas ATM use if needed. And this week opened Virgin account just for the 2.02% interest and 0.5% savings account.
I came to make an informed decision on an ethical bank account to choose and use going into my 20s, while not sacrificing the benefits of a bank account and I got it.

Thanks for this video! So many options! currently with nationwide with a flex account and considering opening a starling account too. However, there is only 0.03% interest rate in a nationwide savings account and 0% interest for current account. I was considering opening another bank account and taking the advantage of any switching incentives but I know if you switch via CASS (which is a safe and easier way) it will close your old account which I don't want to do. I'm also considering cancelling my flex account to go back to normal current account with nationwide as I've found a better insurance deal elsewhere (I only upgraded to flex for the insurance). Any advice Andy? Thanks.
You could look at opening an account you're not bothered about and keeping that one around for when switching incentives return. That way you'll keep your existing account open. With packaged accounts (I'll look at these soon) they're only good value if the included insurances are cheaper than what you'd get elsewhere. If you need all the covers then they can be great. If you only need breakdown or travel then maybe not.

Hi. Mettle looks like it could be good for small businesses and you get FreeAgent for free. Anna is only free for very small Businesses with a low income. Hi Stephen, yes it's falling from 0.6% to 0.3% in April on the 123 account. It's best to ditch that account as the fee wipes out any interest you get. Hi Paolo. Sadly your Italian credit history doesn't transfer over. Monzo is a good start though. It's a decent account and it reports to all three credit reference agencies in the UK. Hi Michael, Triodos is the best ethical bank but comes with a £3 monthly fee. Other accounts with a good rep are any building society, Nationwide being the biggest. Metro and Starling also have an ok reputation, better than the other banks!

In which case you can use the free My Lost Account service to trace any bank, building society and NS&I accounts he had in his name. You'll need to prove you are acting for the estate. Is there a perticular reason you don't like the Santander 123 current it offers 0.60 percent interest if done before April the 12th. Now if you are in a position to deposit 1000 a month I believe this is a good account but I may have missed something Thanks
Hi Mike. A couple of things on the Santander 123. First, that rate drops to 0.3% on 12th April. Second there's the fee (dropping from £5 to £4 in April too). Factor these together and it's easy to beat it elsewhere And you can still get the bill cashback via the 123 Lite account, which has a £2 monthly fee.

if you have a parent with a NatWest account, the NatWest child account is the best, if they have an account with RBS theirs is a good choice too, but otherwise nationwide's FlexOne, Halifax expresscash, TSB under 19, Santander 123 mini (parent needs account with Santander for under 13s), or Lloyds (the smart start account has more parental monitoring and control and a higher interest rate, but you need a parent/guardian with them to open it, you don't need a parent with them to open just the regular child account) all of these accounts, except NatWest and RBS have to be applied for in branch for 11 and 12 year olds, you have to be 13 or over to apply online
Much of muchness really. There's no benefit to choosing one over the other. Though if you have both, it might make sense to keep the Santander 123 (I presume Lite?) as a separate bills account, and use the Barclays for everyday spending.

I definitely prefer Monzo, find Starling quite barebones/basic in comparison, but have accounts with both - and both miles better than the old banks.
Yes Monzo definitely has a little bit of something extra when it comes to savings and look.
