I have just watched this performance, whilst reading the sheet music, and I must say that this young man has just played the most perfect rendition of this piece for someone of his age. Absolutely FABULOUS
I came across an article about Arthur Jussen and it listed his birth year as 1996. Is it really possible that someone so young could play with so much maturity? It's almost unimaginable that at the time of this stellar performance he was only 16. Is that true? Most people barely know how to operate a motor vehicle safely at that tender age.
Lik e you, they have learned that true musicality includes slowing down, speeding up, with louder and softer. It is incredible about these twin boys they are so incredible with their musicality. their attack to the keyboard excels most artists I know. I remeber my lesson only 4 years at the Mormon Tabernacle under the greatest organist of the world Alexander Schreiner who had this same artistic ability, he was trained at Notre Dame a Paris @1920 under Louis Vierne. Barry Rishton
They play as one and were raised in a family of classical musicians from a very young age and were given the gift of loving what they do. A GIFT TO THE UNIVERSE!!!
Played with sensitivity and commitment. I really enjoyed his performance especially of the Pierne which was new to me. Bravo! I found the inclusion of a judge, I presume, and the audience an intrusion on excellent playing.
The other thing that amazes me about this performance of Op.32 nr. 1 is his TOUCH! Pure velvet, which makes the performance incredibly WARM. I was just listening to a performance of the work by the brothers' famous teacher Maria João Pires, and it was the clear, percussive brightness of her sound that drew my attention to the liquid delicacy of Arthur's touch by comparison.
In her letters George Sand expressed her frustration at how other pianists would over-use rubato to the point of distorting the piece. She said, most definitively that Chopin was much more disciplined in his use of it. I think that discipline is key when it comes to using rubato. Here it is used very well and with great discernment. If this is how A played this 10 years ago, then we have much to look forward to - goodness knows how this is going to sound when he is in his forties!
this is the m ost beautiful of chopin´s piano composition i have ever lsitened - this artisti is extraordinary performing this work. i am delighted - whast a vocation. god bless his career. anna braizl.
There will be more! Sunday september 23 we will live broadacast Arthur Jussen playing Beethoven's 2nd Piano Concerto on our website The URL of our website is in the text. Kind regards, AVRO Klassiek
I believe Arthur's use of rubato in the Chopin nocturne is not only more pronounced but, as a consequence, even more emotionally expressive than Rubinstein's. It makes the old chestnut waft as if gently tossed this way and that on capricious breezes to give the performance a delightfully airborne quality. Not merely beautiful but truly magical.
That ‘lady with coffee’ is a famous Dutch television/radio presenter Maartje van Weegen. What you’ve observed is her working setting for her last radio (classical music) program, due reaching her retiring age. She was knighted by Queen Beatrix (by proxy) for all her 40 year of television-/radio- work. She was working. She didn’t know, that Arthur was coming to play for ‘her and her guests’ at her farewell party for family, colleagues and friends Arthur Jussen (then still only 15 years old) was hired/invited/arranged to play for her, as her farewell gift
Wundervoll und sehr einfühlsam vorgetragen, einfach fantastisch 🎶👍🤗🌻

I think he plays everything perfect
What a career he will have! He plays Chopin like a real poet!
young Skywalker, the force is strong in you!
Beautifully played Pierne. It is a demanding thing for such a young man. Very maturely interpreted. I loved it. Well done Arthur. Cathy
Magnificent. Still in full youth it already shows the virtuosimo of the great pianists.

Yes, he was just a couple of weeks shy of his sixteenth birthday at the time of this performance.

Actually, they're not twins, Arthur is three and a half years younger than Lucas, but taller.
@@stevearnold8467 True, but they play like they are.

Absolutely enchanting! Spellbinding!
from a big fan in the USA
You have to have profound sensibilities to play such a piece so beautifully.
How absolutely beautiful!
Prachtig gespeeld Arthur! Wat heb je toch een mooie touche!
Just remarkable, so much expression and he displays the technique of someone much older.
WOW, so amazingly beautiful and musical. I came across this by accident

in a word, fabulous. I do not know what to say
In account of Arthur's exceptional maturity, most of Chopin's creations were meant for him, straight forward.
Amazing performance
Breathtaking! Passion at his fingertips!
Divine gift...
wonderful pianism!
Excellent!👏👏👏👏👏
Beautifully played. Even more incredible considering his age.
-- Excellentes interprétations. --

wonderful concentration and experssiveness
This is most impressive playing!
Mi genio, a los 19 años. Maravilloso.🙂
Actually, he was not quite 16 years old when he played this!!
A foreshadowing of what may come. He is just blooming here. Wonderful promise.
VERY nice MORE, please
fantastico sublime
wonderful playing! please please do not allow the hyper commercial world - starting with piano competitions - to leach your soul of its music
Thank you very much! Francesca
Аbsolute genious!!! The best pianism and musicality and divine insight --- the embodiment of Music itself!
Gabriel Pierne starts at 5:16. I doubt anyone really cares though, he's so obscure
If a composer is obscure, it does not necessarily mean that he is not an excellent composer.. In fact, Pierné IS !
Nonsense, it's a great little piece, regardless of who wrote it.
Rubinstein-like sensitivity. Rare even in older musicians.
I AM IN LOVE

yes
Remarkable . . . astounding . . . amazing . . . .
Bravo! Very talented.
