Im 16 in high school rn and I picked up the trumpet 7-8 months ago. Videos like these is what inspires me to keep practicing everyday to get better. You’re one heck of a trumpet player and I hope to get as good as you one day

After putting the trumpet down for about a year, your videos encouraged me to pick it back up today. I am a bit rusty with the high parts, (I can get up to a F5, but it takes a few tries) but I am just happy to be playing again. Thanks, it means a lot :) It's great you picked it back up again! It honestly seems decent you can get to an F5 already. I remember when I couldn't play trumpet for a few months. When I started again my lips had a really rough time lol

May I ask what you use to record the trumpet parts ? Your tone is stunning … I used to play quite some years ago and just recently dusted the old horn off & giving it a go once again …. Your content has helped with that immensely . For that I cannot thank you enough !
Thank you very much! I'm happy to hear that I've been able to play a small part in helping you get your playing skills back :) I've used different equipment throughout the years, but for this particular video I used a CAD 2200 Microphone and a Behringer Xenyx 302 Mixer to record the audio.

That's very kind of you Trumpet Man to let trompeters have the Bb Trumpet Sheet Music. I play the trumpet too but unfortunately struggle with an overbite. Anyway I'll give it a try.
Thanks! I'm sorry about the overbite. You could always try taking it down an octave to help.
I have an overbite and have found that trying to not press your lips against the mouthpiece as hard helps. I realise that your supposed to do that anyway but I think it really helps especially with having an overbite. Try setting the trumpet on a table or something where it's not being held in place and try playing it👍

Trumpet Man, which music notation software do you use? Your score is significantly better than what (musicnotes) has offered.
I use Finale. And really? Hmmm. I can only see the sample on musicnotes, but it looked to be relatively the same to mine other than some note lengths. I'm hoping to get my specific sheet music online, but it hasn't happened yet, so I figured I would offer the musicnotes link for now since it seemed similar.

I guess the only tip I have is to try and hit the high notes effortlessly. The more effort you put into them typically the worse it will be.

Dry lips and a bit more airflow,
Back off pressure on lips by barely holding the trumpet, then practice lip trills, in the arbans, the muscle will build up to it.
Looks like the cavalry has already arrived lol. But yea, try to use less pressure, let the air do the work, and practice things like lip slurs to build up strength.
