That's more like what I would expect - that it is often not going to go straight, but most of these videos I am amazed at how square it goes through the block. Granted, they have a curve here, but still...
softer stone cut with metal wire. the pyramids would have been made this way, the blocks pulled with lots of long logs underneath and strong rope attached with dozens of men pulling on the other side. to make rooms inside they would have filled the rooms up with sand or something so the stones could be dragged over and placed before moving up a layer. its not that difficult...
Jamie dyer. You cant cut granite with wire and I've never heard the theory before that involved wire. How did they make this wire? What is the wire made of? There are much more plausible theories these days like concrete. You cant pull a 200 tone stone up hill with men, string and sticks. By the way they used a lot of materials and you cant something is a fact if you can disprove it somewhere else.
Watch the video from start to finish skipping 5 seconds over and over. You can see the metal sinking farther and farther into the stone. It looks amazing!

Imagine the guy on the right lying around when you are working. Annoying guy indeed.
That was weirdly enjoyable and calming :3

after seeing this I'm more convinced all the monolithic structures were made by aliens with far superior tools

For soft stones, can such a technique be applied🙏
It does not work as well on soft or stones with lots of seams. In general. The harder and more brittle the rock the better.

Rolling Stone, yes.
Stone Sour, FHAK YEAH !

Stupid question how did you get those chisels in? Did you need to jack hammer holes in first or just hammer the chisels in slowly one at a time?
The other guys decides which chisel to be hit.
Back in my time we had rock experts and hammer experts on just braking and sculpture
what were they braking - the truck??
But how did they get those pegs in the stone first?
Probably drilled a bit
A rocky start, but eventually you hit it right on the head.
Woah, that's Greg Ondo bro. Show some respect
Caveman say... you made half the wheel?
I wonder if they meant it to come out like a bowl or was it meant to split straight down
The stone cuts a lot straighter if you go slow. Been cutting stone since 1983.

was it supposed to break into a kinda half bowl shape thing?
likely, unless they didn't know what they were doing.
very unlikely that they had THAT result in mind. Just amateurs
I’m kinda curious as well. If that was their intention I’m doubly impressed.
Hans-Dieter Hensel oh yeah, Greg Ondo is clearly an amateur....
You stupid fuckboi
Is Greg a known artist or mason? If they meant to split this with that dish part remaining then this is truly next level.
