Haters go home. Nobody will replace Jeff Beck but Rick is his own man. A master class in power trios just the same. I was a fan of Bogart and Appice since Vanilla Fudge.
These guys are all Professional's Professionals - they are the musicians brought into the Recording Studio when the ''Rock Stars" can't play the tunes right. Rick Derringer was brought into the Recording Studio by KISS at the height of their fame in the late 1970's, because Ace Frehley couldn't perform a guitar solo as it was written in the song. After hours of Ace messing up and costing expensive Studio time, they brought in Rick, who nailed the solo in one take and was out the door in less than an hour. A Pro's Pro.

One of the Very Best power trio performance of All time without any doubt! With Beck Awesome but with Derringer with his unique style and well I have no words to describe the Joy to see this Jewel of musicianship ❤️🎸✌️
@rickolson7775 Yes, he was smoking, but have you heard the same song by CBA with Char? I like the sound of Times 6 string in this one. ua-cam.com/video/pk0ccAhSYJA/v-deo.htmlsi=GMfObgvacvs3-drS
What a talented trio. Amazing musicians. Rest in Peace Tim. I was fortunate enough to see you with Carmine and Vanilla Fudge in 1968 at Mount Saint Mary's College in Emittsburg, Maryland. Boegert total blew me away on bass as did Carmine on drums.
I remember Rick was known as the "up and coming virtuoso on the guitar" way back when he was with the McCoys! He was basically "Johnny Winter's Protege"! "He's too cool for School" !!!
People get that wrong, if anything Rick probably got more from Edgar than Johnny. Johnn probably got a lot from Rick. When ricks management took him to see johnny he wasn't impressed and was about to go elsewhere but when Johnny played the slide Rick could see what was there.
Winters was older than Rick by a few years, that's why it was written in the tabloids that Derringer was Winter's protege!! As far as their talents go, Winter's was more like a Savant than Rick, because of his affliction probably !?!@@MrMojabo
And the critics back in the day said Tim and Carmine couldn't sing. They did a great job in my book, especially considering the complex instrumentation.
That's a Ludwig Octa-plus. I would love to have heard some of those Neil Peart style accents on the high toms, but it was a different time, and every drummer has his own style. An awesome performance by masters of their trade.
They probably would have gotten along better with Derringer in the band/ never even knew this lineup existed/ probably came after Beck bailed mid-tour !!!###
Seriously, and I loved Jeff Beck, but maybe the the best 3-piece band ever. Good God. Tim Bogert killed it. Carmine is incredible as always and Rick Derringer is, well, Rick Derringer. What a group.
BBA Although short Lived was Truly Awesome...kind of like Blind Faith " A Super Group. No way could Jeff Beck be Replaced ( RIP Jeff) However, Rick did do what he does- plays Guitar in a kick ass way. BBA- 5 Stars Derringer Bogart Appice- 4 Stars.
That's one helluva a guitar Rick is playing, and it's kind of weird that Bogert is playing a headless bass, which is kind of minimal. Saw Rick play live once and was blown away. Very inspiring but not in the 'I'm going home now and playing the shit out my axe' way. In a way that has you wanting to stop playing altogether. He was that good, Hendrix level good.
I always thought Appice's cymbal-work was the best element of his drumming/and its hard to follow Beck/ but Derringer is certainly no slouch here !!!###
That is a nasty riff (up there w/ 25 or six to 4 or Hocus Pocus) and they work the hell out of it. Derringer goes way out (like science fiction out). Didn't know he had that in him.
I was a drummer and Carmine was one of my biggest influences. However, Mr. Producer, there are two other musicians up there and we'd have appreciated a lot more camera time than they got here.
@@69zenos1....you're right, Beck had his own sound and signature in that....just that Derringer is more rocker and sometimes it's good to be like that on a live stage....

Derringer was a monster guitarist back in the day, still is.

A Pro's Pro.
Do you know which song that was?
I always thought Ace was overrated. Mainly because I was raised on Derringer, Beck, Winter, Blackmore, Trower, Hendrix, West, etc.

Fantastic! RIP Tim Bogert
allright prople, no problem, for sure this version is hot, R.I.P. Bogert........
I think it's cool when rock stars get together and play each other songs. It doesn't happen a lot but it's cool to watch
Where's the rest of this concert?
Tim was actually crazy talented!
So amazing to watch conducting from the drummer's throne.
Bogart is a monster great job all way around
Derregers best DayZ was with Johnny Winter.... When God wants to play guitar he Burrow's becks Hands 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤟🤟🤟🤟
Derringer is one of those woefully underrated guitarists. I enjoyed this collaboration. Gonna miss Jeff. A unique and unsurpassed talent.

Tim Bogert was a great bass player, never got the credit he deserved
True ..he inspired me
as a drummer myself for more than 40 years, Carmine or Vinnie , i love these 2....one plays 1 bass-drum, the other 2 ....
Derringer sucks
Tim Bogert looked like Warren Zevon
Warren is much cooler
That's what Tim Bogart could do with no one looking over shoulder.

Interesting to hear this with a different guitar play. There is room in the world for multiple interpretations.
I love Derringer (with Winter), but Beck’s better
That may be, but Derringer can make you forget all that when he's on.
subjective.
Yes. Beck. But Derringer always has fun. Happy Guitar. Spell check edit.
Totally different players

Totally agree

Rick is a little over his head here, kudos for trying but no!
With “Johnny Winter And Live” he smashed….Historic 2 guitar freestyle, awesome stuff!
This is as good as it gets.

Rick doe's this song great justice. But no-one will ever play it like Jeff.

Rick's is a really great guitarist, I wrote the Lyrics to Lady for B.B.A. was credited on their L.P. but never recieved a penny. rock n roll eh !
You should've got a mean lawyer after them!
This is fantastic! Carmine and Tim always had great bands
Derringer is rather a full-fledged caliber .50 S&W revolver...
And now, the Emmy for the most bad-ass bass/percussion pair for all of eternity....
Except Bruce/Baker, maybe
Rick Derringer...the American Jeff Beck
De acuerdo !..pero en este concierto...Tim Bogert se lleva las palmas !!!...espectacular
