Pumping the foil on Camano Island

Sunset session on Camano Island on Sat March 20, 2021. Sufficient conditions (15-20kt) for testing out my new 1300cm2, 1.5cm-thin, high-aspect foil from Gong (Veloce L), and the new 40” carbon mast. In a word: slick. Tons of glide and lift, yet breaching is unforgiving. Set my new speed record: 20mph. I moved my front straps 2” forward, and still had to place my back foot inches ahead of the mast. I was told by a park visitor that a gray whale was frolicking somewhere near me but I didn’t see it in the footage.
