The things I love most about this video, 1) Khanyisa starting to hand her bottles back instead of dropping them 2) the way Adine talks to Tokwe, mother to mother, matriarch to matriarch. 3) how Stavros knows exactly what Khanyisa was doing all night, (because even though he'll say he got some sleep, we all know he probably stayed up all night to make sure his darling little friend was alright) 🤗😊❤️
I've come to admire Fishan so much! He has stepped into the role of helping the allomothers protect Khaniysa which I find so interesting given he is a bull. In spite of everything he has been through, he has not allowed his trauma to change his disposition. He has a huge heart and is always such a gentlemen and so trustworthy! He is one of my favorite elephants now.
How exciting! The morning greeting party looked calm & unphased. Cool to see some of the herd still snoozing on their sand mounds (haven't seen them doing that before). Looks like Khanyisa's first night was a triumph! 🥰🙏❤🐘 Good to see Lammie & Nungu getting on with their grass eating chores! 🥰🙏❤🐑
Many thanks for this update. Khanyisa looks very confident. It is interesting to see how sensitive the elephants react to changed processes. And how easy going they cope with it. Im absolutely fascinated. I feel so privileged to be able to take part in all this behaviour and reactions! And seeing Adine, being happy to give Khanyisa a nice stroke and some loving words makes me smile, not to mention all the carers, patiently monitoring and helping. You all made my day!!!
05:33 aww Khanyisa's little foot on the Rock! 🥰. I feel like she's saying to Limpopo, "Okay now that I'm a "big ellie" what is that we do in the morning? Put foot on rock? Check✔️"
Me as well. Every time I see there is a new video, I quietly hope on the inside for a chance to see Fishan. Also want to massage his foot that continues to be stiff and bother him.
it's amazing that something as simple as watching her search thru the bucket for her fav treat the pellets can be so entertaining. I could watch that for hours.
Lammie and Nungu, thank you for your part in helping with Khanyisa and all of the herd. This is just such a way for me to wake up. This is better than any coffee. What a beautiful family! Khanyisa seems to be adjusting quite well indeed. What a big girl our baby has grown into! Thanks to all.
Itt van a Föld legbékésebb helye! Itt a zaklatott lelkek is nyugalomra találnak . Köszönet és hála, hogy részesei lehetünk szerte a világon ennek a harmóniának! ❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Sweet Kumbura, ever interested Limpopo and beautiful long legged Fishan (and of course Tokwe). Khanyisa is bound to be safe and happy surrounded by her family. Stravos looks on like a proud Papa! I can’t believe she went for the pellets first over sweet potatoes. Something new and different. Thank you for the captions on these last few videos! This deaf old lady appreciates it so much. ❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦
I feel so close to tears for you, Adine. Your rehabilitation and reintegration efforts saved Khanyisa and the herd has enveloped her with such caring protection. I think K truly belongs to the herd now. Which is what everybody wanted. Still, it made me a bit wistful that your baby has grown up. Thank you for all that you and your knowledgable assistants have created. And for showing us so many aspects of the ellies' existence. Kindest regards to all from an Australian viewer. 💗🐘
Khaynisa 🐘 looks like she had a good night. It was very interesting that she was standing between Timisa 🐘 and Pisa 🐘 during the night as they were sleeping and also slept on her sand mound. Khaynisa 🐘seems very at home just after one night. Thank you to all of the carers who got up through the night checking on our little meisekind 🐘. Welcome home Khaynisa 🐘. ❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐑🐑❤️
Just like her family stood to protect her in the bush when she napped, so too does Khanyisa stand to protect them on her first night. She will learn her role and the ways of the herd as she takes in these lessons as she grows in confidence. Thank you HERD for showing us Khanyisa's adaptation to her family.
I got the vibe from Limpopo's face, like she was telling Adine that "she's fine, we took good care of her." Bunch of teen allomothers still surrounding Khanyisa.
I was wondering what Limpopo was doing. She definitely was communicating something. I thought maybe she was looking for information, but you're right, she could have been saying something ...
I am in Eastern Canada and have been overwhelmed by the positive outcome of this new beginning in the life of our dear Ellie. She has experienced the very best of care by such amazing people, now she will experience the care and love of her amazing companions. It just “fills the soul.”
I really appreciated the close-up of her eating from the bucket. To see how dextrose her trunk is and how she uses it to find her favourite foods first was fascinating. Thank you.
Khanyisa looks like she had a restful 1st night, HERD looks so proud that she made the move! Thank you Adine for the update & wishing everyone a very good day ❤️👍
Just as I was thinking of Khanyisa thing morning and wondering how her night went, I see your video! I'm thrilled it went so well and it makes my day to see how much the herd loves her.I love these magnificent creatures, they'll never cease to amaze me! Also, thank you to Adine and all the carers for protecting the elephants. Sending hig hugs from Canada. ❤🌼🌻🌿🌟🐘❤
It maybe my imagination… the eyes of Limpopo has as she looks at the camera and Adine as well seems to say “Thank you for gIving us our baby Khanysia, she makes our herd whole”. Bless you all for saving this baby❤
It looks like Limpopo is trying to keep the baby away from the fence. They are all wonderful in their love and protection of each other. Thank you for sharing!
I didn't think anything was tastier to Khanyisa than sweet potato! Boy, did she let me know otherwise, ha! I'm just so happy that this new chapter is starting off so wonderfully. I'm enjoying getting to observe the rest of the herd before they start their day in the bush too. ❤️🐘❤️
This is just awe inspiring. Khanyisa is so precious and lucky to have the love and care she gets from her herd of elephants and humans. I didn’t have a moment of worry. I knew she’d be just fine. Kumbura’s obsession with keeping K safe has always been my favorite time watching. Watching her learn “to elephant” from the members of the herd is a joy. 🥰
I couldn't wait to get home from work to see how she did in the Homestead overnight. I very much enjoy all of the Herd videos; everyone does such a nice job there with these magnificent elephants!
Been watching from the first video of her and it's been amazing watching this little pink orphan grow and develop her own little personality. I'm so happy she has taken her next step 😊🐘🐘🐘
Me too. I still remember her and Fenya in the orphanage together and all the lows in Khanyisa’s health. She has been more than supported through out her short life by the Herd staff and her Jabulani herd. What a team the 2 of you made for her.
Me too have been watching from day 1 , incredible dedication from Adine and All the carers, vets, suppliers of food , everyone involved.Khanyisa looks happy and content with the herd , brilliant outcome
They are just as comfortable with her there as they have been. They are aware of the responsibility they have for her and are doing great from what I can see! Good job everyone carers, Adine, maintenance staff for fixing broken gates and maintaining accommodations for animals and humans. Also thank you to the rest of the staff who do all the other things that keep HERD and all the programs that animals and humans benefit from that are involved with the Jabulani Inspired ventures running and operating!! Without all of your care and efforts Khanyisa’s successful full integration into this very special herd wouldn’t have been possible! Thank you to all the donors, sponsors, and viewers as well these majestic awe inspiring animals certainly deserve this help and support! What a beautiful day it is to know the worlds ray of Sunshine, that continued to shine even on the cloudiest days of the pandemic, persevered when the world look so dark, and fought for a chance to continue to shine! With the help of Veterinarians, Adine, and round the clock carers! Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough when I think of how you are saving animals for all the world to have a chance to see and know so our future generations can do the same. To continue to help the diverse life in this diverse world can thrive just as well as us human animals do. Thank you all!!!! What a day to celebrate 🎉 Khanyisa is a big girl now!! My sunshine on a cloudy day. Such a proud heartwarming feeling to know she belongs. Completely encircled with protection whenever needed.
Anyone else get the feeling this a bit of a new adaption to the morning routine, as if the Elephants currently most in charge of raising Khanyisa, are there to let you know they know she needs her breakfast milk before they head out for the day, as she has always been given that meal before being allowed to catch up with the herd. Definately feels like they are at the milk drive up with an order for 4 bottles, but baby is staying in the car with them. Felt like Fishan arrived and joined the females with Khanyisa and placed himself between them and the carers and stared very intently as if he wanted to make sure you knew how well Khanyisa had been taken care of all night and you did not have to be concerned and there was no reason to consider this anything but a success and to know she was staying with them now and not going back to the nursery. It's going to be interesting how they will deal with something that takes her back to the nursery even for a short time such as a weight check or a vet check.
If they take her back to the nursery at all- she is reaching the maximum weight for the scale; Adine mentioned it not too long ago. She will be too big to fit in the stall. Vet can check in her in the homestead, just as he would any of the other eles. I think Khanyisa is finished with the nursery. Just my thoughts.
Yes, I loved the group standing at the fence waiting. They knew Khanyisa needed her milk and your "drive thru" comparison is perfect! I also noticed that the carers and Adine brought her milk and bucket of food farther out into the bush away from the nursery and the homestead perhaps to avoid a confusion or another commotion like we saw in the earlier video. Oh and seeing Lammie and Nungu was a nice touch!
Glad she slept well. It’s strange that she didn’t approach where Adine was standing. Wonder what little K was thinking. Limpopo, Kumbura protecting/ surrounding her & sweetly caressing her with their trunks & Limpopo stayed there w/ Tokwe, Timisa &, Fishan,( even after Khanyisa walks away followed by Kumbura) like saying: ‘love you but don’t trespass & don’t take her away, we’ll protect her now. Impressive how Limpopo stood ground. 💖🐘 -Pellets over sweet potatoes?: a new discovery for me.- Thank you, Adine & carers for your hard work & for showing us all their moves, especially Khanyisa. 💖🐘
Baby K grabbing & drinking her bottles is still one of the most darling sights to watch on this earth. What a little nugget. She seems to be doing well out in the homestead. I do have a question. Will you put sunscreen on her now that your summer is coming? Thank you for this sweet video of the HERD and thanks to all of you for caring for these incredible, majestic elephants. 🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️
Khanyisa walks like a princess. She still makes me sad to see the little girl outside her beautiful nursery. Today she seems to be waiting for her milk, a little disconcerted by the change of place. She is like a little girl entering elementary school. Love from 🇨🇱
There is so much being said in "Ellie" language. It must be such an emotional rollercoaster for everyone. So happy and proud yet concerned and uneasy at the unknown. Everyone seems to be quietly confident that works around this magnificent herd. Tigre's voice is so soothing. Adine, is it like sending your last born child away to college? It is all so beautiful to see, this family of elephants and their carers. 🥰🐘💖
Khanyisa appears to be so Content having slept all night with the others. Her confidence is amazing which gives tribute to the healing love she has been surrounded and imparted with over these last 3 years. Humans and elephants, all one family. Beautiful HERD, makes me quite emotional seeing the way in which this little elephant has healed from her extreme trauma💗 Tears of joy for the success of everyone at HERD
Now Khanyisa is a herd member. She moves with the herd. The special treatment comes to an end. Whatever Khanyisa gets, the herd will get as well. To belong, is to be safe. Carry on.
She's an orphan with no access to the milk she should be drinking -- though HERD does its best to match the nutrition that helps sustain her. A few extra pieces of potatoes to give her a boost is not unfair. If equality is important to you, please do donate to HERD so that every elephant can get extra treats in the evening.
Those milk bottles are what, 2.5 liters each and Khanyisa's chugging them down like crazy. This world is better because of Adine and the carers and what they do at the orphanage for these majestic, beautiful creatures. God bless you Adine and everyone else at HERD.
She is a Khanyisa Braveheart adapting as best she can. I'm sure there was a little shock her first night, not understanding why she wasn't going back to the nursery. But all her old friends, elephant and human, are still around. I feel sure she will be fine, especially with all the warmhearted care she receives from everyone. Thank you so much for the daily updates. I know we all eagerly await every bit of news as she enters her next chapter. Yay, Baby K!❤🐘
Beautiful & so peaceful ❤ love that second where it’s Khanyisa, Timisa and Pisa standing side-by-side looking small, medium and (almost) large 😊 Plus big sisters & always watchful allomothers Limpopo & Kumbura there with Tokwe showing Khanyisa & us their real large love 🐘🙌🏾
I'm confident she will adjust to her new routine as will all the other elephants. She will continue to be well cared for and loved and that is what counts. She must learn the ways of the herd now, and I know she will.
I feel they came to let you know, “we got this”! So happy you are keeping all of us informed with this wonderful transition. She’s is definitely a big girl now. It has been a very exciting journey. Adine, you must be a very proud momma. I know you will miss the closeness and love she has given you. 🇺🇸🌴🌺❤️
All is up and rolling for little miss Sunshine in the Homestead but she is still granted with "special Baby K breakfast" It is so amazing that all the Ellies from Tokwe and Fishan's group are in alert as soon as somebody approaches the Homestead and all the ellies from the group are mobilzed to surround our Pink Baby so sweet ! 💖
That was a wonderful start to both Khanyisa's morning and mine . Thank you very much for letting all of us share in this once in a lifetime sweet moment
I’m so relieved!! I knew she would be ok, but I still worried a little!!😅 Thanks Adine for the update. It seems all that playing on the stalls when she was litt, helped her remember and relax and know she was safe! Love you guys! Love our Meisiekind!!😊❤🐘
I’m so happy I found your channel just when you first rescued Khanyisa over 2 years ago, and have watched every video since! I’m so happy to see her integrate into her forever herd with Adine and all the carrers and hoping to see more…..Thankyou from Arizona, US, Tobey 🌵🌞
How intelligent these animals are! Tokwe and the rest of the ones around Khanyisa KNOW that there is something significant happening with baby girl spending the night with the big Ellie’s! They know something different is underway. It’s easy to see why Tokwe is the leader! She is so intuitive.
Meisiekind is a miracle. When I'm sad, feel defeated or depressed she shows me if she can survive and thrive after everything she's been through then maybe I can. She's fortunate to be surrounded by so much love, support and protection. 🐘❤️
Makes me feel good knowing there are exceptional people in the world like your crew, that are looking after one of the worlds most precious animals. Thank you from a city dweller.
Adine I commented you, and the Cares, integrating Khanyisa into the Jabulani Elephant herd, while dealing first with Khanyisa severe injuries. And the Jabulani Elephant Herd has welcomed Khanyisa into their family, and have been reach by her how to be n Elephant. And yesterday I saw the Elephants take her into their Herd completely and like you indicated Adine, The Jabulani Herd will continue to raise Khanyisa. Well 👍 done.
I love them all. Looks as though K has settled in well and great that she has used the mound in the night. Great shot of those on the mound, must be so helpful for them not having to get up from a horizontal position. That is why my heart bleeds when I see elephants in India and the like where they are forced to sleep horizontal on concrete. Thank you for being there for all of these precious elephants.
The elders appear somewhat confused: "Hey! Did you guys forget to take the baby home last night?? Well. NOW she's OURS!" A perfect step forward with our little one.
One of those sad but sweet moments when your little one is no longer the baby. So wonderful to see her enjoying life as an elephant. Without all of you she would not be here for thousands to share and enjoy.
It’s a pleasure to see the acceptance and protection of her family. She will do well as she’s done since her arrival at HERD. Thank you all for the caring, entertaining, informing videos you share! I’m absolutely hooked on HERD! Good little one, yer in the big time now!🧡🐘👍🐘🥰🐘
Thanks a lot for the much anticipated follow-up of Khanyisa's first night with the herd! One gets a bit sleepy oneself while watching the morning atmosphere…how tenderly they treat each other 🥰 She will always remember her time in the nursery and her human allomother and fathers - 'elephants nerver forget' as the saying goes. And how she is digging for those pellets 😉
My heart break when I see the baby elephant she look a little sad and out of place she been such a big part of my life from the begining when she first came.
👍.. "Limpopo" is So-Beautiful .. and she seems to "thrive" by just "sharing-space" with Adine, by "connecting with her" at the start of the day .. Hugs & Kisses to All of "The HERD" ..🥰💋
Sure enjoyed watching video of beginning of her 1st night being so lovingly welcomed to homestead by her Herd. 🐘🐘🐘🐘And now this mornings video after. Precious to see her transition as her ellie family teaches her the ropes. 🐘Thx to Adine & all the hardworking amazing Carers & for Tigere overlooking ALL the ellies. God bless u all for all u do for them!🥰 And for including us on the journey. Means so much to get to enjoy way over in Western USA. 🥰🇺🇸 Looking fwd to next videos. Take care over there.! 💕
As someone who knows almost everything about elephants from watching HERD, it looks like Khanyisa is even MORE loved now that she sleeps with them!!!!? So happy the 1st nite went well-good work HERD and also, the HERD elephant family for accepting Khanyisa so readily.
It went smoothly. Breakfast in the bush with Adine and Herman, so lovely to see. Lammie and Nungu was close. So happy. Thank you, everyone there, HERD 😃😊❤💗❤🐘🙋♀🌍.
Bless those elephants who accepted Kanyisia!
I notice she doesn’t drop the finished bottles now; she waits for someone to take it from her! So cool.
Polite little princess 👸
I was about to comment on that as well. The awareness of these elephants is quite extraordinary.
You're so right 👍, thanks for pointing it out
It would be awesome if the carer team can teach her trunk back the empty milk bottle 🍼
She actually gave him the last bottle she’s amazing
The things I love most about this video,
1) Khanyisa starting to hand her bottles back instead of dropping them
2) the way Adine talks to Tokwe, mother to mother, matriarch to matriarch.
3) how Stavros knows exactly what Khanyisa was doing all night, (because even though he'll say he got some sleep, we all know he probably stayed up all night to make sure his darling little friend was alright) 🤗😊❤️
I love how they all surround her….so she knows she is safe and loved! She is getting to be such a big girl….❤❤❤❤

Thank you kind hearted friend ✨🌟
Indeed! So much better than looking at world headlines.
05:33 aww Khanyisa's little foot on the Rock! 🥰. I feel like she's saying to Limpopo, "Okay now that I'm a "big ellie" what is that we do in the morning? Put foot on rock? Check✔️"
Cute 🥰
😉😅
That's the cutest thing I ever did see 😍🐘❤️
Yes it totally cracked me up when she put her foot on the Rock like monkey see monkey do
Fishans eyes are the sweetest and most gentle eyes I’ve ever seen. 😭 glad to see baby K is doing well 🥰
Me as well.

Khanyisa had a good breakfast.
Mr. Tigere is a wise man. He knows the elephants well.
Lammie and Nungu, thank you for your part in helping with Khanyisa and all of the herd.

What do you do with all the elephants' poop?
@@sandrawallach7719 there are several things they use it for. They make soap, paper, gin and they use it to stop the land from erosion.

-Pellets over sweet potatoes?: a new discovery for me.-
Thank you, Adine & carers for your hard work & for showing us all their moves, especially Khanyisa.
Mud and dust baths are nature's sunscreen for the elephants.
Khanyisa walks like a princess. She still makes me sad to see the little girl outside her beautiful nursery. Today she seems to be waiting for her milk, a little disconcerted by the change of place. She is like a little girl entering elementary school.
Love from 🇨🇱
I love watching all the Elephants !!
Thank you so very much, too everyone at Herd for caring for these Gentle Giants !!🐘❤️🐘
The first night seems to have gone well. Brave little ellie 🇦🇺💕
The first night is the hardest. I'm sure our princess will sleep better tonight as she will be more relaxed and fall into the new routine 😁
It is so beautiful how Kumbura takes such measured steps to watch over Khanyisa without hovering over her.
Carry on.
Beautiful as always 💖 thank you
WELL STATED ERIK249❤️!!!
Yep!! Shouldn't be anymore special treatment. I hope the herd will all get sweet potatoes in the evening too, but we will see
I figured she would still get all the special treats and the other ones won't. I don't play favorites with my horses. What one gets they all get.
I wish i could live old enough to see khanyisa become a matriach one day. Thank you HERD
Those milk bottles are what, 2.5 liters each and Khanyisa's chugging them down like crazy. This world is better because of Adine and the carers and what they do at the orphanage for these majestic, beautiful creatures. God bless you Adine and everyone else at HERD.
It’s really neat to see the larger elephants sleeping on the sand mounds.
It’s as if they are telling Adine and the rest of the carers that they will take care of Khanysia now. It’s ok too rest after doing such a great job!
That’s what I thought as well!
Yes indeed, they have everything under control 🥰
Thank you. That was beautiful to see. Such a lot of work and TLC ❤️
So glad the transition went so well. Very interesting.
I knew she would be ok, but I still worried a little!!😅
Thanks Adine for the update.
It seems all that playing on the stalls when she was litt, helped her remember and relax and know she was safe!
Love you guys!
Love our Meisiekind!!😊❤🐘
Starvos still looks at her like it's his baby and so proud.😅
What a privilege it is for us to witness this miracle. It really could not have gone any better. She is doing so well and they are all fabulous! 💟🐘
They all look very happy to be together ! That was a seamless transition. Incredible work Adine & everyone at HERD ! 🐘💕🇨🇦
I send my best wishes to Khanyisa lovely baby Good luck baby
Terrific video. Great closeups of her picking her favorite foods first. Loved that. You guys are great! 🥰
Thank you so much! We really appreciate you watching and caring 😊🐘
I am so happy to see Lammie and Nungu. Fishan is one of my favorites. I think he is a peaceful and wise elephant
Sweet, gentle souls. How could anyone not love elephants! ❤️
I love Kumbura for being so protective of baby,is so funny to see Khanyisa copying and her touches with each other❤❤
Kumbura is my favorite elephant. I love her face, so full of compassion and caring when she looks down on Khanyisa!
How intelligent these animals are! Tokwe and the rest of the ones around Khanyisa KNOW that there is something significant happening with baby girl spending the night with the big Ellie’s! They know something different is underway. It’s easy to see why Tokwe is the leader! She is so intuitive.
YIPPIE, a 20 minute video. Gotta turn on the big screen right now. Love y'all 💕
Love and sunshine to you!
The pretty pink Princess looks like she had a good night with her herd, but I think she was looking for her milk bottles. 😂 🐘 💕 🥰
she's always looking for her milk bottles in the morning. Remember the pacing?
I love Lammie. Cute closeup, selfie.
Meeee tooooo!!!!! 🥹💗
I love to watch while Khanyisa takes her milk bottles with her trunk & drinks. 😂🤣🐘👏👍
I love watching these peaceful beings, from the other side of the ocean.
Uruguay
The elders appear somewhat confused: "Hey! Did you guys forget to take the baby home last night?? Well. NOW she's OURS!" A perfect step forward with our little one.
Marvelous news! Great beginning! Thank you HERD
One of those sad but sweet moments when your little one is no longer the baby. So wonderful to see her enjoying life as an elephant. Without all of you she would not be here for thousands to share and enjoy.
I have such respect for Mr Fishan, what a wise wise intelligent beautiful elephant, i love him so much, God bless you Fishan
So calm and peaceful among the herd. They are happy.
She is happily discovering her new space and getting acquainted to everything. Like anyone in a new home except with one big family living with you 💖🐘
Kumbura always close to Baby ! she is amazing and so protective !!! love her very much !! ❤
As someone who knows almost everything about elephants from watching HERD, it looks like Khanyisa is even MORE loved now that she sleeps with them!!!!? So happy the 1st nite went well-good work HERD and also, the HERD elephant family for accepting Khanyisa so readily.
What a big girl! So happy it went so well. I bet she’s going to need a few naps, though!
Excellent news! Congratulations all on good transition
Good morning Khanisa !
Make sure she knows if she doesn't eat her vegetables, she won't get pudding.
It went smoothly. Breakfast in the bush with Adine and Herman, so lovely to see. Lammie and Nungu was close. So happy. Thank you, everyone there, HERD 😃😊❤💗❤🐘🙋♀🌍.
She made it. So relieved to see this. She made it. So happy for her and all the elephants at HERD. Thank-you Carers.
