short notice: for Ankha and Magria you need to do some quests in Hyjal until you unlock the Sanctuary of Malorne for the daily quests, otherwise you are in a different phase and might not see both of them. learned it the hard way when I saw one of the on my druid (who has completed the hyjal questline) and flew there with my hunter to see nothing );
i don't know if it's mentioned elsewhere in the comments but, karoma shares the same model as grimtotem spirit guide. guide was tameable for a very short period of time and it was a REAL pain in the ass to tame it ( you needed bloodlust, troll haste buff and another haste buff which came from a gem that procs randomly, so imagine lining all up) but unlike karoma, it is not a spirit beast and shares the basic abilities of a regular wolf. i proudly own one by the way, Tingoz - Emeriss EU if you are interested. keep up the good work.
I tamed it on a NELF hunter, you didnt need the troll haste, but then had to focus more haste gear with everything else lol. pet still "disappeared" on the tame, but res pet and it respawned right next to me
There's a ghost (or translucent, how ever you'd prefer to look at it) armoured boar that you can only get in RFK. I only mention it becasue A] you can only tame it in RFK, and B] Wilson (my one) is one of my longest owned and favourite pets I've tamed.
I am just correcting/commenting on the important mistakes here: 1. Spirt Beasts do not have Spirit Shock any longer in SL, because all Hunters get Tranquilising Shot back. SB now have a pretty lackluster self purge ability. Actually, all pet families with a similar ability, Waterstriders, Bats, etc will lose it. 2. The Hyjal cats only appear once you reach a certain deep point in the Cataclysm Mt. Hyjal questline. You can NOT just fly over and hope to tame them. 3. Hexapos: Soothing Water see point 1. Also, BM in SL gets Hunter's Mark back. As soon as you see him just slap an HM on it it will purge the invis. This is valid for all Pandaria tracking rare pets. And also for the Legion mechanical dog tames. If you play a hunter or any class and use WoWhead you might want to read over the change reports for your class there now and then. Less ugly surprises.
threw these details into the description, thanks again for the info, I know you've helped the channel out in the past 🍻 edit: bro you should start a channel your knowledge is on point
Another Fel Raven to tame is the boss in Skyreach, he's orange reddish.... Good thing about having one of these is they give pathfinder (15% increase movement), which is great while in Shadowlands 😁 Nice to see Hexapos on here, had that one a long time ago on a different account.. Going to grab it again..
King Krush *does* have special requirements to tame him. He has a fear on a short CD that will interrupt your tame ability, almost every time you attempt to tame him. I don't know if the trick still applies today, but back when the expansion was current you needed a priest and a haste pot in order to tame him. Otherwise he would just keep interrupting your tame over and over again. Not to mention he is a huge mob so he doesn't go unnoticed for very long. Either he'll be tamed or killed in a short period of time.
Here is the story about the original 'Karoma' wolves. Back in burning crusade (patch 2.3 I think is when these were added), this model was spawned by grimtotem mobs in the north western corner of Dustwallow marsh. These were named "Grimtotem Spirit Guide." They were mistakenly flagged as tameable, however they were only active for a verrrry short time. So you needed lots of help in order to tame them. You needed: A leatherworker with haste drums, A priest for mind control, and a shaman for bloodlust. You also needed a gem, the "Mystical Skyfire Diamond." The lowest level item you could get with a socket was a level 68 mail helm better suited for shamans. As alliance, you could obtain it from Allerian Stronghold through the use of the crystals(?) you got by controlling all the pvp towers in the bonewastes and the doing the dungeons within. You needed the priest to mind control a grimtotem shaman so the wolves can be summoned at will. With the gem, heroism, and drums, you could get your cast time of tame beast to about 10 seconds, the same time that the wovles are active. You would have to swap hunter aspects in order to trigger the gem proc, and then activate *everthing* to get the timing perfect. There was no room for error. No matter what, the tame would end just as the wolf 'dies' or de-spawns (it would make the death animation and be essentially dead). BUT, if you cast revive pet and the tame was successful, it would revive and be at your side at level 30! (Back in the day, you had to actually level your pet, and could only do so by killing mobs that would give YOU exp. I killed alot of bugs in zangarmarsh grinding those levels.) I still have it to this day, the best pet out there. For a long time, their animations were broken, so they would speed walk towards your enemy rather than run. Initially, a blue post said that they would not remove them (I have a screenshot of it somewhere, when blizz moved their forums the post was eaten). But then shortly after, the decision was reversed and a hotfix removed the ability to tame them by replacing them with a completely different mob. Hunters who got them could keep them, but people were -pissed-. I am still kinda pissed, there is no challenge tame that was as hard or exciting as getting the Grimtotem Spirit Guide back in BC. The reasoning was that "it hurt the aesthetic and feel of hunters". But then LOL in Wrath they added spirit beasts. Took them until cata to add karoma. I'm glad people can tame the model, but I find ferocity more useful. If you hunt around you can find stuff about it, such as a few articles about it and the wowhead page for "Grimtotem Spirit Guide". I cant seem to find a good legit video talking about this, maybe I should make one, lmao.
Odd fact, my Father was the first Alliance player to tame the white lion. My uncle helped him out with it and they did it during the beta, and then the same thing in the Alpha, and when the game came out they leveled super quick (because they knew the quests) and my father on day 1 in a couple hours of playing Tamed the White lion and named it Pride, because a group of lions is known as a pride, he never dismissed Pride (unless he had to or to tame something else) and Pride was his number one go to pet from Classic all the way to WoD when my father canceled his sub.
Fel Raven is super easy inside the raid - go up to the boss location and they are lying on the floor - just tame and go. Gondria I have 2 copies (Gondria and Gondriatoo - thanks to the GM who helped me name change the second one). Spirit Strike was first removed about 10 years ago, when it was a PvE taunt that let players use Gondria for tanking despite being ferocity, when growl was not as tanky as it is today and it was easy to pull off ones pet. Must have been returned and then removed again (My two are Gondria and Gondriatoo thx to a GM that helped me rename the second one. But tamed 12-14 years apart from each other). Spawn timer shorter than for Arcturis and less heavily camped. But for anyone who can afford to - you can always roll your toon on a low pop server, go easily gather all the rare pets you want, then switch servers. Echayakee - was the perfect example why do with 2 accounts. 1 to play horde and summon and the other to tame on alliance. Or faction swap or buy a summon from a Horde player. Sia-Rotam used to be a real pain. Sounds easier now. If you like Emerald Dream but want the spirit beast you can go for Ban'thalos in Mt Hyjal. It has a particular tame method, involving taunting while flying and directly above a particular dead tree - so you taunt, auto-dismount and land on the very top of the tree and them tame.......hopefully. The alternatives are less fun. Most disturbing rumor - I have heard that on some low pop servers some rare pets have been REMOVED FROM THE GAME. One example being Skarr in Molten Front. I haven't seen that in 8-10 years on Thorium Brotherhood. I've not tried other servers, as I don't have hunters leveled high enough elsewhere. But if Blizz decides to remove rares from low pop servers, to keep them hard to tame, it's somewhat contrary to the way that Blizz wants almost everything in the game to be easier :(
important note for hexpos when he walked back and forth along the root, so if you reach the end he will just turn back around, another quaility of life thing is hunter mark once you get him out of stealth
Easiest way to tame Hexapos.... when you fire a flare in front of his tracks to uncover him, lay a freeze trap on em... might take 2 tries while taming but you'll get him while he's in the trap.... I just tamed him that way.
Love these lists!!! I have been hunting some Spirit Beasts that I dumped due to lack of room at the time. I regretted it and have been hunting for a few years now! Just got Gondria this morning!!! Now on to Arcturis!
I happened to get extremely lucky with Karoma on my hunter alt, formerly my main in Legion, which is when I tamed the beauty. I found him while I was in the area for Archeaology digging. This was a great video, and it helped me realize how lucky I was to straight up find him without trying.
Thank you very much for your video. I just tamed Hexapos! Timing is really crucial here, if you can reach a just appearing mysterious track you need to flare, freeze trap and tame in quick succession.
Enjoying your content a lot. Starting shadowlands in a week when my new laptop gets here. Played from vanilla up till Cata and havent touched it in damn near a decade. Plan on going MM and your vids are helpful, thank you!
gondria shares timers with all the spirit beasts in northrend apparently, so it's very difficult to know which one will pop and when. was lucky enough to find it. the maned lion in twilight highlands is more unique than the white lion, though i have both.
you need to do quests to be able to see the regrowth also magria and ankha do spawn sometimes together - Banthlos spawns either before they do - you don't have to sit on a tree to get the owl you can disengage on your fall down and still tame her
Hexapos took me two days and for some reason I would only see his tracks to the south. And half the time the tracks were buried in the hill so it made it even more annoying even with ground clutter at the lowest setting g. But it ended up being the most fun/frustrating to get. And from what Ive seen, it’s the only one of its type that is white.
I was able to get pretty much all the rate ones right before expansion launch , everyone was out in northrend messing with the boss grind . Got loque, skoll , Atticus the bear , gondria , king crush popped ice the first time for me ever and I accident killed him lol

Fel Raven...I think I got them the hard way (I always get 2 of the ones I like) I already had the mount so I had to have 2 of these...Stood on the spike, had ferocity pets out popped a couple haste 1hr buffs, then as it was coming by I popped primal rage, dismissed the pets, drank the 15 second haste boost and tamed the sucker before he flew by. Hardest I ever had to work to get. I mainly did it because some ahole online commented that if you got the ones circling hellfire citadel they'd fly with you. That's a lie. They don't.

Hi, I hope you read this. Im a New player. Im trying to find a UA-cam video about beast master pets if you are completely New to wow. Because you are using terminologie. I mean how do I start from scratch and which pet do I sart with?
I'm reading it 😋 I always try to get back at you guys asap! I actually made a video about this, it explains some of the terminology and breaks every aspect of pets down: pet families, special abilities, and exotic abilities. It'll guide you through and then help you pick the right pet for you! Hope it helps! Good hunting! ua-cam.com/video/cAGOHHOcAHI/v-deo.html
One more thing, once you find the right pet for you, head to www.wow-petopia.com and search for it. It'll show you every different appearance and tell you where to get it 👌🤙
Not sure about those 2 locations, but petopia is showing that undeads can tame the skeletal hellhounds without the tome, just like zandalari trolls and dino pets
Thats messed up, people should always be grandfathered in to adjustments like that. Maybe it wasn't SUPPOSED to be tameable, but thats their fault, not yours. RIP Oily Boi💔

My idea of unique are pets that you don't see. My ghost worm from Storm Peaks comes to mind. I have yet come across another hunter with it.
Yeah episode 3 will be more "sleeper" type pets. Osca the bloodied comes to mind too, thanks for the suggestion! I'm using the white falcosaur rn, super easy to tame as they're always up, but NOBODY uses it
@@xBLUMONKEY Thanks. It's actually from a quote in the movie "The Fifth Element". I think most people think it's a dick joke. It's my name for basically everything.

Not sure about those 2 locations, but petopia is showing that undeads can tame the skeletal hellhounds without the tome, just like zandalari trolls and dino pets
Once SL comes you can tame any type of Undead pet as a Forsaken Hunter without using the book other races will need.
still able to tame gara at patch 9.2?
Wish I could verify but I haven't played in months
Best pet I ever had was an oil stained wolf until Blizzard stole him from me. Saddest day I ever had in wow when he disappeared from my inventory
Thats messed up, people should always be grandfathered in to adjustments like that. Maybe it wasn't SUPPOSED to be tameable, but thats their fault, not yours. RIP Oily Boi💔
Shy-Rotam should be on this list
@10:12 under the 'white lion' listing...although it is a striped tiger.
How can I start?
awesome video
thanks! glad you liked it! 😎
I tamed the emerald spirit bird in Dragonblight.
Nice! 👌👌
Gib isn't that popular I think. I've never had to really spawn camp him. Just fly there and tame, at least on my server.
I think you forgot to mention for Magria and Ankha that you have to have Molten Front unlocked to see them .
I did! I threw it up in the description a few minutes ago haha thanks friend!
@@xBLUMONKEY hehe you’re welcome ! 😀. By the way I love the hunter videos being a hunter addict and having a long term goal of maxing out all races that can be hunters .. I really enjoy your videos!
@@Anjelica_Zero im glad! Yeah im doing my best out here haha seems I'm always forgetting something in my guides no matter how much research I do 😖😖 thinking I'll move more in the PvP live-commentary direction until my knowledge is a little more rounded out. But I'm glad you have a good time here, good luck on your hunter goals! Quite ambitious 😋
@@xBLUMONKEY nah don’t go all PVP! There are ppl that enjoy these sorts of videos myself especially. Everyone forgets things . Have you checked out the Hunter discord server Trueshot Lodge ? A great bunch and helpful with so much . I use them a lot for hunting pets . 😀
@@Anjelica_Zero surprisingly no I haven't checked it out! I need to tho, I know the class discords are super useful
I mean in both videos I saw a lot of really cool pets but unique? Not really. A lot of em, the spirit beasts especially you can see a ton of them in SW at any one time. My idea of unique are pets that you don't see. My ghost worm from Storm Peaks comes to mind. I have yet come across another hunter with it.
Yeah episode 3 will be more "sleeper" type pets. Osca the bloodied comes to mind too, thanks for the suggestion! I'm using the white falcosaur rn, super easy to tame as they're always up, but NOBODY uses it
@@xBLUMONKEY very nice
Was spirit shock removed?
@jayfedder1578 yeah but you have a skill that does the same thing by default in your kit now, I forget what it's called it's been a while
I've never seen gib. It's like the spawn is broken.
I've only seen him once and someone tamed him right before me >
dont need to take off armor for Regrowth rares anymore. Deth'Tilac is no longer a kite fest either with ilvl 80+
Oh really? Thanks. Always wanted Deth - but what a pia he sounded like to get. I just kept delaying it lol
i have ankha and magria they are my main pets
I've been using Echeeyaki for like 15 years...lol
Echeyakee*
Nice! Haha can't go wrong 👌👌 also nice UA-cam handle 🤣🤣🤣
@@xBLUMONKEY Thanks. It's actually from a quote in the movie "The Fifth Element". I think most people think it's a dick joke. It's my name for basically everything.
Just subscribed
Glad to have you on the crew! 🤙🤙
well, nice video but for me, hunting pets like crazy and play all those years, no surprise :P
SEE DESCRIPTION FOR CORRECTIONS!!!! BTW, I also do transmog reviews! --> ua-cam.com/video/j4CorKjey_c/v-deo.html
I got that transparent ray from the weird instance that you can only get during a single quest
Also got the ghost jormungar
I dont really care about my spirit beasts kinda happy to hang em up
This isn't Shadowlands/BFA? ???
First kul' tyran now hexapose i can not anymore
Karoma added in Cataclysm bro
So much fake info on the internet, not sure where I saw it was wrath. Thanks bro, simply cutting this part from the vid 👌
@@xBLUMONKEY Karoma is a great pet and the only proper rare still on my chase list. Keep it in somehow =)
How dare you not include Humar the Pridelord! The only black male lion!
Keep the episode 3 suggestions coming 👌
