That’s a great tip! I’ve seen mixed feelings online, but it looks like the main thing is to turn them inside out if you do choose to use a machine. Well that explains why my letters are chipping away haha.
I tried the fairtex ones from Amazon, but felt restricted, just doing a squat felt limited. I wasn’t sure maybe it was a size too small but it sounds like you have no issues on the range and flexibility in them.
I have Two yokkao shorts,One classic all shiny and one carbon fit,as you say,the yokkao lettering if it's shiny, will start to come off in a year or so,the shiny accent around your belly will discolorate too,the gloves and the shin guard instead are top notch,no sign of wear,i've even stained mine with someones blood, but they are like new,i will surely buy other shorts, the shine thing that come off is only an aestetich problem, they are very comfy
Yo! I’m also pretty big and a 34 waist. I followed their sizing chart and it’s been fine for me. I’d say it runs a little tight so I could have gone one size larger. Remember that you can always tie it to make it tighter.
It seems likw Yokkao only has up to XXL now. I really want XXXL to ensure they fit. I'm similar stats as you buy my thighs are massive. I accidentally bought XXL Fairtex shorts but I think I need xxxl
Hey izzy, first of all thx for the great review! i’m currently really confused on the sizing My height is 185cm and i currently have a weight of 82kg, the website keeps reccomending me an L size, but i feel like it’ll be too short so should i go for an L or an XL?
There’s nothing wrong with getting larger and then using the string pulls in the pants to tighten. I’d say I followed the sizing chart and it did run about right / tight, but it’s because I have a belly.
So first off I gotta say that I don’t have the traditional ones. That being said, I think the material on traditional is a shiny satin whereas the carbon fit have more of a different material / matte finish. The carbon fit ones also have different details on the bottom of the pant leg. Hope that helps!
@@izzyr__ Thank you sir, do you have the yokkao gloves and shin guards? Planning to buy them but they're a bit pricy so im having a second thought to buy the twins instead
Yeah I do! I have reviews for both and the hand wraps on my channel as well. They do run a bit pricey and I would only suggest getting them if you’re a big yokkao fan. I don’t think they are that much better than their next competitor. I feel p cool rocking yokkao gear tho :)
@@izzyr__ Ohh awesome, I want them becauss of their designs, got my first yokkao muay thai shorts surprisingly for 100php(2us$) from the thrift shop 10/10 condition lol, ill watch your reviews about them, anyway do you fight fulltime?
i know Yokkao does limited runs of their gear, but is their anywhere i could get the Aztec pattern? definitely my favorite pattern and I can't find them anywhere.
Oh dude I was lucky to get them when they were out. If they’re no longer on the store, I’m not sure how to get them. You could try emailing and messaging them on Instagram. Hope you’re able to get it dude.
Hey! I found a retailer that is selling the monster shorts from a few years back. I was wondering what size would you recommend? Do the old shorts from several years ago fit differently to the current sizing on their website? I would be a M/L based on their current measurements I believe. I am 5'8 and generally wear size 32 waist pants, around 155 lbs or 70kg.
@@izzyr__ My pants finally arrived. I ordered it through their website on Thursday night and it arrived on Wednesday of the next week. I am 5'9", 210lbs, athletic/chubby build, size 36 jeans. I ordered XXXL pants and it fits me comfortably with plenty of room. If I want it tighter, I can tie it with the strap, but I would only do that if I was in a fight and scared of it falling off somehow by my opponent. This is with the new sizing chart with the xs size added. Thanks for the video man because I would have definitely bought the wrong size.
Any 2021 updates? Saw that the sizing has changed in the comments. I'm kinda lost with the sizing as well. I'm 5'9 (175CM), 170lbs (77KG) and Yokkao recommended 2XL or 3XL. I've measured a pair of shorts comparing their measurements and 2XL is surely too big on the waist.
Mine are 2XL and I’m 5’5” at about 180 lbs now. I have a belly so I’d say they fit pretty tight on me and I don’t need to adjust with the drawstring at all. If you give me your waist measurement, I could compare haha.
@@hesntls976 sorry it took so long to get back to you. Yah we have the exact same measurements. Remember that you can get 10% off your total order with my code IZZYR btw!
@@izzyr__ hey Izzy I’m a size 32 in or 81 cm I was wondering what size I should get on their site based on their number s I’m 3xl so I’m lost also I’m 5’5as well how do they fit on length? Thank you
Yo! Muay Thai shorts are short by nature. They sit quite a bit above the knees. I feel like 2XL may be your size since I’m a full 3 inches (used to be 4) larger than you.
I don't know. They look like they have nice slim shin guards but they don't have a loop through velcro design that I like that the Twins Sgl10s and Top Kings have. I don't wear the thai gloves I buy boxing gloves instead
Thai shorts are not supposed to be washed mate or tumble dried, i hand wash mine in a tub of hot water with soap and they have no signs of wear
That’s a great tip! I’ve seen mixed feelings online, but it looks like the main thing is to turn them inside out if you do choose to use a machine. Well that explains why my letters are chipping away haha.

Right! The shorts are def super comfy and I do love the material.
What's the difference between the traditional shorts and carbonfit shorts?
They’re actually a different form factor and use satin. I’d say the carbon fit has a more modern + sporty flair.
@@izzyr__ thanks for the reply and info! Appreciate it.
Are you shopping around for these shorts too? I love them! What was the thing that got you looking for yokkao muay thai shorts?

I’d say try it out regardless. As long as they’re not so tight that they’re uncomfortable.

I do not fight haha. I am an enthusiastic sparring partner. I have no plans to fight at all at this point. I just love training MT.
Great video I also am digging the 🌈 short.

Sold out everywhere?

I know the feeling man. It was the same deal for my monster gloves. Hope they come back in stock soon.
what kind of under garments do you wear under the shorts, if anything?
Just regular boxer briefs. Just make sure you have good coverage because those leg holes can get wide when you kick or knee.
@@izzyr__ awesome! thanks for replying and the video. I have my first muay thai class in a few weeks, by surprise, so im gathering all the info i can

Yup! V long ago at this point.

I just measured my hip and it is 33.8inches
I wear M and I’m 5’5” and a larger guy. Prob 35 waist. I like how tight it is on me personally.
So are they recommended for competition? And training or should i stick with AND1 shorts
Not too sure what’s acceptable on competition, but I’m fairly certain all fighters in the yokkao promos wear them.
@@izzyr__ ok
If you were 5'9" with the same build and waist size would you get an XXL or XXXL?
I also think the sizing changed on the website. The waist for an XXL short is now 38-40inches. They added an xS size. Would you still order an XXL?
It does run a lil tight for the under belly for me. I personally love the tight fit, but don’t forget that there’s a drawstring!
@@izzyr__ I contacted Yokkoa, and they recommended a XXXL for a size 36 waist. I put in the order. I'll check back in on the sizing.
Lemme know how it fits you! I’d be down to make a follow up vid just so I’m not spreading the wrong information.

what siez i need if i do 32 at the hips actually M or L? what do you think ?
I think it comes down to how fit you want it.’if you go larger, you can always tie it. My gut feeling says that M is a good size for you.
Any update on what size you ended up getting? I have the same size waist and am looking into purchasing a pair of these.
