The Byzantine rulers seem to be the biggest idiots in history. 1. John V has to be a vassal because of previous emperors' idiocy. 2. His son Andronikos doesn't like this, and deposes his father because of it. Loses, and gets half blinded. Then he goes to the guy he doesn't like being the vassal of, lends an army, deposes his father and gives his true enemy a highly important peninsula as a reward, as well as sparking war with Venice when he gives away Tenedos to the Genoese. 3. His father lends another Turkish army to depose his son once again. Succeeds, and gives away the last Byzantine holding in Anatolia to their truest enemies ever. So. What was gained? The title of emperor shifted from father to son, and back to father. Aka, nothing. What was lost? Gallipoli, Tenedos and Philadelphia. As the fourteenth century wore on, the Ottomans continued to expand into territory that had not seen Muslim armies since the Umayyad raids on Constantinople almost 700 years before. In the 1350s, the Ottomans crossed the Dardanelles Straits into Europe for the first time. Taking advantage of Byzantine disunity in the region, Sultan Orhan, and later his son, Murad I. were able to firmly establish Ottoman authority in parts of Thrace. If you check the Catalan Atlas, all the beyliks had 6 point star flags (not banners). The history of Anatolian Beyliks split into 2, first phase and second phase. First phase is the arrival of Turks into Anatolia and poweful Seljuk generals and Beys carving out their own territory. Seconf phase begins with the fall of Sultanate of Rum and withdrawal of Ilkhanate Mongols from Anatolia. A VERY VERY weird thing is that, first phase beyliks had nothing jewish about them, but with the second phase beyliks suddenly all their flags are 6 point stars. Exceptions are Ottoman, Eretna and Aydin beyliks. The rest had it. Karaman, Teke, Menteşe, Candar, Hamid etc. Also Ramazan and Dulkadir (also second phase beyliks) had arabic writings on their flags because beys were landed by the Mamluke sultanate so they followed their coat of arms traditions.

Only because Khazaria had Ashina family as ruling class, or they've claimed to be. Who were the last remaining members of Gokturks. Later on Khazar noblity converting to Judaism (supposedly) under the rule of Khan Bulan, Oghuz, Pecheneg, Kimek and Cuman formed a coalition and attacked them. Its such a sad thing that no details of those events are written. I keep asking and thinking why and how?
C'mon. Those Ottomans are trying way too hard with a 2 directional conquest. Either focus on the Balkans, or Anatolia. Not both. There is no way they are going to submit both regions like that. Mark my words.
Modern Turkey is like a mix between the Ottoman Empire/Byzantine Empire. It's a combination of all the great Anatolian Empires. Their flag says it all. Classic Islam Crescent Moon with deep Roman Imperial Red.
While there is much more than this to the Turks, it is true that Turks rank among history's great empire-builders and rulers. Under the Ottomans they conquered vast territories in the Balkans and the Middle East and ruled for six hundred years.

They called it Seal of Suleiman(Solomon)
Was supposed to be a holy charm or something.

@@muhammadadeel8639 Selçuk himself (ancestor and founding father of Seljuk dynasty) served under Khan Manasseh II ''the Kind'', who was the Khan of Khazars. Before all of that, Kimek, Pecheneg, Oghuz and Cuman were tributaries of Khazaria, not necessarily direct vassals but paying tribute rather.
$5 a month is really worth it for this quality content. Highly recommend.
Great video as always
Thank you , K&G .
🐺
really enjoyed this one thank you 🙏
Finally it’s back
C'mon. Those Ottomans are trying way too hard with a 2 directional conquest. Either focus on the Balkans, or Anatolia. Not both.
There is no way they are going to submit both regions like that. Mark my words.

So are you doing remakes of the older videos from 2017? You have a video on Kosovo already, also you have one on Nicopolis.
Waiting for the next episode
Good video
Modern Turkey is like a mix between the Ottoman Empire/Byzantine Empire. It's a combination of all the great Anatolian Empires. Their flag says it all. Classic Islam Crescent Moon with deep Roman Imperial Red.
Thank you)
This hits different after the recent earthquakes in Turkey
While there is much more than this to the Turks, it is true that Turks rank among history's great empire-builders and rulers. Under the Ottomans they conquered vast territories in the Balkans and the Middle East and ruled for six hundred years.
epic video
