I LOVE how some of the cutscenes are like “recorded found footage” it gives the feel that this is almost a history record that someone (ONI) has put together as an investigation
The deluxe edition is in fact a black ONI box with related papers inside (the main thing aside from the disk is Hasley's diary, that has notes from before the spartan program was even a thing) and a note from someone that gathered all the info available from the archives for us written behind the content list
That's what I said when I first watched Rogue One. It's literally Halo Reach. -Bleaker tone compared to the rest of the series. -Prequel to the first installment. -All main characters are on a suicide mission that results in all of them dying (tho Jun survives in Reach so maybe not all). -The crucial, war ending plot MacGuffin gets transported off planet and then the planet is glassed. -The chronologically following title pretty much begins with the ship containing said MacGuffin being pursued by the enemy.
Spartans have magnetic attachments throughout their entire armor. They just need to activate it in the HUD. This isn’t seen in the games but in the books. Its explored that Spartans go through a bunch of training, one of which was gravity. It’s why in halo 5 during the intro scene to Blue Team. Their soles magnetizes to the floor
@@blackxican1995 you're mistaken there. that extends to the sides of the thighs, back, and sole of their feet. It is not armor wide, and it is seen in game. How else do they holster their weapons?
Amazing detail I never noticed at 15:43 when she says “Még itt vannak” in hungarian, that translates to “they are still here” and you can see Jorge visibly understand and tense up since he speaks hungarian.
A few years back I used to play halo reach with my dad, every day, as soon as we woke up we’d play it, before he started nightshift we’d play it, we’d play this game for hours and it brings back so many good memories, that game was everything back then. We used to finish it in under two hours, we’d still be playing it if he wasn’t up in the skys now.
I don’t know why but 15:46 was the coolest moment/cut scene in the whole game for me, the music and way the camera moved, the whole situation, it made the whole game feel much more serious and like the enemy’s were actually threatening to me, this got my Adrenaline up for the hole next combat zone and I wish there were games that could keep that vibe going 24/7
I never see enough praise for this scene. It’s easily one of my favorites, if not my favorite. The way the music starts, the way there’s just an extremely well delivered, guttural “we’ve been engaged”. Love everything about that scene.
I think it's also one of the most space-soldier versus Alien-esque (as in the horror sci-fi movie series) scenes we've seen in Halo. Tension is high, night-vision was just activated... Then a bunch of very skilled, powerful aliens hop out of the darkness only to quickly attack then recede back dragging civilians along with them...
1:09:45 my favorite cutscene of all time, just hearing the same message over and over again while an entire fleet of covenant ships comes your way knowing you have no chance of winning now is just… chilling.
never even played halo, however after watching this video it just looks so boring but i see now they basically copied off of call of duty while incorporating aliens and galactic warfare....
I never noticed before, but at 1:59:51 the covenant cruiser you shoot with the MAC gun actually crashes in the background. I always assumed that the ship backed off after it lost its main gun, but it turns out Noble Six racked up tens of thousands of extra kills right at the end
29:09 I just realized Jorge was nervous in front of Halsey, both Jun and Emile noticed he was acting kind of funny, I love Halsey, she’s an underrated character, she has a very authoritative presence, and really does love her Spartans in a maternal manner but saves face because Spartans react to authority, not emotion.

this game really has a deep impact on me, back when i was a pre teen, my friends thought i was crazy for obsessing on “a game” but in reality, it’s one of the best games to exist. the story, noble team, and the fact that they all die is heartbreaking. the other games just talk about master chief winning, but this game talks about the reality of the military, and how everybody dies eventually. I will always love reach.

1:33:34 when the drums start to ominously pick up and they're talking about the atomic excitement. "How close!?" "THAT close!" One of my favourite scenes in the Halo universe.
"I've seen your file. . . . .that lone wolf stuff stays behind." Little did Carter know that Noble 6 would leave that "lone wolf stuff" behind on Reach. . . .forever. Great story and great game.
@1:08:31 “We all make it sooner or later.” I love how Jorge gives 6 his tags as he bravely prepares to meet his end. He’s sacrificing himself to save a planet that he loves. This was, by far, my favorite Halo campaign. Loved every second of it. A close 2nd, imo, was Halo 3. I wish they hadn't screwed the pooch on Halo 4 and 5. Finger crossed Halo Infinite course corrects and brings back what made Halo such an amazing story and universe.
Halo 4's campaign was actually good tho. The multiplayer was what was bad. Ironically Halo 5 is the reverse. 5's campaign is by far the worst in the series.
@@Potato_n_Tomato I enjoyed halo 4 for what it was. I actually liked the MP. What pissed me off about halo 4 was the non ending. They continued and finished the story in a damn comic no one read. To me, that is just not right. Halo 5, I loved the build up to it with the podcast Hunt the Truth. I was actually looking forward to playing as Locke and crew, but felt the motivations weren't really discussed or throughly explored in the game. It just seemed forced. Also, not explaining where the rest of blue team came from didnt help. I knew because I read the novels, but I was constantly asked about it by friends and, at the time, customers who didnt read all the novels and comics. I just feel like halo 4 and 5 didnt live up to what bungie had done with the series, story wise. It just seemed like 343 were trying to spread the story out over different medias and it didnt work because they didnt come out and express that thought. The game's stories, which is why I play the series, just fell flat and seemed like they weren't really given the attention of past games.
I think Halo 4 had a decent campaign. Decent ending for Cortana and some interesting premises for a new trilogy. Then they went in the overdone evil AI stuff with Cortana.
Halo 4's story was good in that it finally acknowledged lore other than the main games. Halo 5 overhyped the Locke vs Chief fight that should've been done better and was basically a Locke game with the Chief rather than a game that was balanced between the two. What they should've done for Halo 5 was do the same thing as Halo 2 where there was a balance of levels regarding Arbiter and Chief. That or split the stories into two separate video games similar to Halo 3 and Halo 3:ODST. What they could've done was a main Halo 5 game done from the Chief's perspective and then Halo 5:Guardians that told Locke's.
“ Negative. I have the gun. Good luck sir.” No hesitation, not a hint of fear. He knew what his duty was. Spartan class II & III are a different breed.
1:42:17 is just so good. The way they’re just standing around trying to figure out what’s going on and where to go but they’re never not a Spartan, always got the trigger finger ready and waiting.
As a 33-year-old man that has played video games his entire life; none has had the impact on me that Halo: Reach did. An absolute masterclass. I find myself revisiting it often and appreciating it more every time. Thank you, Bungie, and everyone who worked on it. And most importantly, Thank you Noble Team for your sacrifice. Remember Reach.
1:35:55 My favourite shot from the entire series, it tells us a lot about each member of Noble without a word being said. Jun, the scout and resident sniper of the team who aside from a couple missions in the game remains relatively unseen most of the time, strays ahead from his teammates and is reduced to a small dot in the distance. Carter, the leader of the team, remains in the light while carrying Kat’s body, a heavy burden he’ll have to bear given how close they were. Six, the newest addition to the team and an overall enigma, remains in the shadows next to Carter, befitting of his “lone wolf” nature. And finally, Emile, the vengeful spirit of Noble and the team’s CQC specialist, is covered in red. Rage and anger. Absolutely amazing how clever use of lighting and positioning can convey so much about each character!
Damn, this first mission still holds that horror movie type feel to it that 12 year old me was terrified by. “Something in the field killed his son” still gives me chills haha. Hands down one of Halo’s darkest/horror movie scenes.
Tells you how hopeless the situation was for the high command when Kats plan she came up with in a cave, that was drawn with Emiles knife, in the dirt, was the best idea given to the Colonel. lol
Halo 4's story was great. Halo 5's was crappy, but I don't think it was because of its setup because the question of Rampancy is a big question that needed answering, alone with the flood, and the banished. I think its more the perspective of Halo 5's story and how the presented it. They tried to make us care about Locke, and tried to put him on the level of Chief. Yahhhh no. I still think 5's set ups is decent enough to have great sequel.
@@shadowbandit3975 I really did not like the Didact at all, he sucks the life out of the story and the universe. Completely ruins the OG Forerunners from Bungie. I literally just realized while looking at the comments that Halo Reach's campaign just became my favorite of all the Halo's. I was thinking about it, and no other Halo makes me feel the way I do about Reach. I just get so so so invested in this campaign storyline, like it's a movie or something. The other Halo campaigns (excluding 4 and 5) are all absolutely amazing games. Top top tier campaigns. But the absolute cinematic emotional masterpiece they made with Reach is just the pinnacle of story telling for me. I really hope Infinite heads back to this direction.

2:03:58 is where the choral voices in the soundtrack really shine. I love how the chorus always returns whenever there’s a loss of something during the fight for reach.
I remember so clearly playing Reach when I was 14. The cutscenes, since they were real-time, always dropped frames on the OG 360. Seeing them now in 60 makes the memories all the more nostalgic, yet I yearn for the day this title receives the same treatment as Halo 2.
My god... has it really been 10 YEARS? Thank you Bungie for 10 YEARS of Halo Reach! The best one to date! So many great memories. If there was a game that would describe my childhood, it would be Reach.
Years later and I still play this game frequently. One of the instrumental games of my childhood and life, extremely grateful to have grown up with it. Also, just wanted to state this because I haven't seen any comments stating so, but Noble 6 for as little as he talks has such a cool damn voice. Wish he spoke more. Best halo.
This story is so good, I've watched it a dozen times and still can't get enough. Noble Team goes out like heroes, but Emile goes out like a straight G. Lol
I remember playing coop with my brothers during the trilogy. But I played Reach alone. We’ve recently gotten back into playing halo together again. Soon I’ll be an uncle and married. I can’t wait to play these games with the next generation. They truly are something special.
Thank you Gamer’s Little Playground for this video of Halo Reach. I have not played the campaign since 2012 and the multiplayer since 2016. One of my favorite games in the Halo franchise.
Irony of Noble Team's deaths: Jorge, Noble 5, heavy weapons expert: goes out with a bang Kat, Noble 2, brains of the operation: shot through the head Jun, Noble 3, sniper: actually still alive Carter, Noble 1, Leader: dies clearing the way for his team Emile, Noble 4, close-range expert: really loved his knife, stabbed in the back by a zealot Noble 6, former assassin for ONI: dies alone to an onslaught of covenant and ultimately killed by a zealot's hidden energy blade
One of many childhood games that lives rent-free in my heart. Not many realize that it really is not “just a game”. My older brother and I played this on the daily. Now, grown up and his age, it hits hard knowing how time flies.
I hate how the must have games have turned into the ones we have to avoid at all costs and honestly its our faults for not seeing the bad shit sooner and putting our foots down when we had the chance. Gaming was just too casual for that back then tho.
Good job GLP! And thank you for using default armor, as much as I like seeing everyone's custom Spartans, I always like when game movies have the default character designs 😄
It could just be me over analyzing this but at 1:58:29, you see Six’s shoulders expand and then drop. As if it’s one final deep breath before accepting his fate and completing his final mission. He knows what will happen if he stays behind, and yet he choose to do it like the badass he is.

I don’t know why but 15:46 was the coolest moment/cut scene in the whole game for me, the music and way the camera moved, the whole situation, it made the whole game feel much more serious and like the enemy’s were actually threatening to me, this got my Adrenaline up for the hole next combat zone and I wish there were games that could keep that vibe going 24/7
i dont know about the best part in the game, but it's definatly one of the most badass, epic, hardcore, baller ass cutscenes in ANY game.

Agree 100% as I bought an Xbox for Halo in 2002 after Halo 3 meh
“ Negative. I have the gun. Good luck sir.” No hesitation, not a hint of fear. He knew what his duty was. Spartan class II & III are a different breed.

I remember when Halo had a good story and good dialogue. Hope Infinite does that
I think you should give Halo 4's story a chance. I really liked it. Reach has been my favorite, then 3, then 4 or 2
Halo 4's story was great.
