I'm having an Amazing Day! I always love DP of Avalon videos. As a new grower, I've been focusing on growing San Pedro from seeds. Seeing other people's seedlings is enjoyable and informative. Especially helpful is the info on winter dormancy. It's scary to stop watering, it's a big leap of faith that they'll be OK.Thanks for all the inspiration that you share. Keep the videos coming!
Probably in part to do with the pot size and the lack of any watering at all in winter, San pedro are one of the quickest growing cactus and can tolerate alot more than most, bigger pots help and a couple of waterings during there dormancy, in ideal conditions they can grow up to 1ft per year
Awesome collection!! ~I had an 8foot, beautiful blue, seed grown peru, 7 and a half years old, knocked over by the hurricane a few weeks ago. Big damage to it and it's sister it fell on.😭 -On the positive side I got lots of cuts to finally propagate them. 💕🌵 I miss looking up at them.
Oh no with your 8 feet high seed grown Peru falling over in the hurricane, but thats fantastic you will have more to propagate from the cuttings, a similar thing happened to us a few years ago when we moved house, a big Pilosocereus that was grown from seed by my Partner Hans fell over in the removal van and snapped in half, we was gutted at the time, but now we have two beautiful big cuttings that are growing amazing now, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful new week XXXX

As a mostly Trichocereus grower i must say that you have some wonderful varieties growing there! :) Also it is a tiny relief for me to see that some of your seedlings are the same size as mine that i sown in 2019. It was the first time trying cacti from seed and i was a bit worried. Also due to some people on reddit that say that their seed grown cacti that were way bigger are around 2 years old. But maybe they just show off and are unreal, idk. Anyways, keep on growing and much cacti love from germany
Awwww thank you so much and thats awesome that you love Trichocereus so much too, yes LOL! at the guys on Reddit saying that their cacti are bigger at 2 years old, I get a lot of people like that on the Facebook groups saying the same to me too haha, but a lot of Tricho seedlings can take a good few years until they start to really take off in height, so happy you have seedlings too of these amazing Trichocereus, they are my favourite group of cacti to grow along with Lophophora, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Germany for a wonderful new week XXXX
@@desertplantsofavalon Oh yes i love the Lophophoras too! :) They look definitely magical. I got 5 Williamsii var. ceaspitosa mother plants and a small Jourdaniana growing. Also a lot of seedlings from the mother plants that are 3 years old atm. Maybe i try to graft some next spring, but i haven`t had much luck in the past trying grafting. It`s a little supreme discipline on it`s own i think. Thank you so much for your wonderful content and stay awesome as you are! I wish you also an upcoming nice week!

Love the vid. Been watching your videos off and on now for years. Just thought you might wanna know it’s Helen x Baker not Helen’s Baker. Helen and Baker are two varieties and it seems you have the cross of them. I have some Baker x Helen that is a few feet tall with multiple stems :) you can of course call them Helen’s baker if you want since they are your cactus but thought you might wanna know that :)
Hi there, I prefer to under pot them especially in their early stages as it prevents them from the chances of getting any root rot issues, I have found in the past if I pot them up into pots that are much larger than their root systems that they are more prone to rotting etc, thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful plant powered Sunday XXXX
