  • About Vantastic: We are a happy couple who got rid of everything to travel the world. We make vlogs sharing our daily lives in a camper van, our ups and downs, and our adventures around Europe.
    What camera equipment do you use?
    We use GoPro10, Røde VideoMicro with a dead kitten, Ulanzi tripod mt-16, Ulanzi cage G9, Ulanzi vl49 light, DJ Mavic Pro drone and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the vlogs. Our electrical power set-up in our camper van allows charging our camera and laptops to film and edit.
    What is your van?
    Our camper van is Fiat Ducato 2015, Adria Twin conversion panel van. We have done only minor upgrades and mods to our camper van, we pretty much love it as it is.
    How do you afford your nomadic lifestyle?
    We live on a true shoestring budget. We travel economically, we cook all our meals, we dont visit tourist traps, we enjoy being in the nature and hiking in the nature. We worked traditional office jobs for years and now we live on our savings and investments. We dont believe you need tons of money to to pursue your passion. However, we have learned that you do need to sacrifice comfort, consistency and safety, but that it is possible, very worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes us truly happy!

    What a cool area you are in. Cool stone formations. A bit scary when the lorry came over on your side by the border crossing.

      It worries us also, that we see that as normal interaction on the road of eastern europe and have zero reaction, its just normal thing in here.
      Normal.

    The holy shrine was very interesting. There used to be a drinking tap on the right hand wall outside St. Peters in Rome. I collected a bottle full and brought it back to the UK and made a pot of holy tea for my Catholic work mate. He said it was a righteous brew 😊

    Thank you for showing the Belogradchic Rocks and town. I grew up there long time ago. Very sentimental memory for me because I’ve been living in the states for 30 years.

    Love how you see Bulgaria with your Nordic eyes and souls. No, the roads are nowhere close to Finland, but yes we have great nature and mountains. The trucks you came across are usually 90% Turkish because they have fewer options to travel to Europe via SE and NW Bulgaria. We border many non-EU, non-Schengen countries so this is normal. Finally, do not forget about the Finnish participation during the liberation from the Ottomans and we do have Hesburger :D. You are welcome to Bulgaria.

    The street art on the utilities boxes is amazing. Other communities should encourage that in Europe and elsewhere rather than ugly graffiti and tagging that is becoming so common

    • @Vantasticvan
      @Vantasticvan  9 місяців тому +1

      Agree. Street art and murals are also very cost effective way to make cities look more happier.

    Maybe it will be very interesting a video comparing Romania with Bulgaria. For many including me, Bulgaria is one of the most unknown countries in EU.

      I am afraid we are not in Bulgaria that long time (this time at least) so we cannot really compere Romania to Bulgaria. But it is interesting idea! Bulgaria has a lot of rural areas and low population dencity which we like a lot.

    Welcome to Bulgaria! You will find the real, natural Bulgaria in the small towns and villages, where the houses are made of mud and wood, and their roofs are made of stone slabs. The people there are completely different from those in big cities. If you have time, spend more of it in nature. There is much to see that is not man-made. My country is economically poor, but rich in natural beauty. Enjoy!

      Thank you so much. We love beign in nature so we will skip the cities for sure. Bulgarian nature is beautiful and people are so nice and calm, we as introverts love Bulgaria a lot!

    For the big queues of trucks on RO-BUL border, you need to say “thank you” to the Nederland and Austria governments for not letting them in Schengen Area.

    Usually, crossing the border between Bulgaria and Romania is not complicated and slow. You've probably traveled this summer. The war in Ukraine changed the situation a lot. Bulgaria and Romania are critical for the export of goods from Ukraine. The two countries have opened their borders and even Black Sea ports to Ukraine, becoming a key corridor. Bulgaria is basically the busiest land border of the EU, because of the border with Turkey. Part of the problem is also countries like Austria, which insanely block the entry of Bulgaria and Romania into Schengen. This creates completely unnecessary truck checks and border bottlenecks.

    Guys don't take it personally as there is really nothing against you in what I am about to say.but there's just way too much both of you on the screen,constantly talking for 5 minutes and the only thing people can see will be your faces.It's more interesting to show the road,trip, scenery,etc and in the background add those comments you want to say anyway. It's just a technical aspect of how to make those videos more interesting..and get more returning viewers. Once again this is nothing personal.Just want to help you to grow your channel. Best of Luck.

    • @Vantasticvan
      @Vantasticvan  9 місяців тому +1

      Thanks so much for your feeback. We agree our videos lack b-roll material!
      We personally like to watch peoples faces whe they are talking. Also we are a bit afraid people dont understand what we say if they dont see our lips moving, so I guess that is also reason why we film our own faces so often. :D
      Our past two videos had a lot of scenic views (Transalpina and Transfagarasan) and Google Analytics shows people are not into those. We are not really a travel channel, we travel so slowly and we mainly just live our lives in a van (in a beautiful surroundings.)
      We should definitel pay attention on creating interesting content rather than just film what ever and not really think about it that much. Thanks so much for your comment!

    • @arturgrabczewski3816
      @arturgrabczewski3816 9 місяців тому

      I think your English is clear enough for people to understand it without watching your lips However your channel is about traveling and adventures so there are certain things people expect and hope for. If this was a political debate then watching you talking and your face expressions would be a priority.

      I see so much more that what is highlighted in the title and/or description in your videos. There is a lot to learn with the information you put out verbally, but also the scenery where you park. The decor of your van, the food you eat and how you cook it. Let's not forget little Pulla and his big heart doing his best at such an old age. When one actually watches the video AND listens, one can see and hear so much more. 🫡🚚
