Whats funny is this showed more respect & went out better than the actual finale to the DCEU because The Flash didn't establish that he made the DCU & that we are now entering the James Gunn era because Andy decided to ruin it by having George Clooney cameo in it & confirming he is Batman & Bruce Wayne.

You gotta love how the DCEU survived for only 10 years before ultimately crashing whereas at this point, Marvel would have released Infinity War. Planning, people, this is why it's important.

Planning, good movies, a consistent vision, no twitchy Lex Luthor, less gloom and doom, at least one solo movie or appearance for each Justice League member prior to the team-up film, no treating your actors like shit behind the scenes, no Jared Leto, no needing to chase one of your lead actors across the globe for over a year. Anything else important that I missed?
Okay, but we are not gonna pretend Marvel is all good movies 😅 let's no rewrite history 😂 planning and structuring will always be the MCU's strength and their biggest advantage over other franchises. The rest could be debated for hours.
Planning, absolutely. It also doesn't hurt to literally own a third of the U.S. Film & Television Industry so that you can quash enough bad press to keep a dud or two from derailing things as well as saturate the market with enough content to increase your odds of hitting a crowd-pleaser. I agree though, mainly planning.
@@q94141 And no big name actors to play big roles so they can't control your franchise. Forget Jared Leto or Dwayne Johnson, I've lost track of how many times Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck announced they were no longer going to play their DC roles. Compare that to Marvel who took the Chris's who were mostly obscure actors at that time and RDJ who desperately needed a second chance to play the central characters of MCU and they were more than grateful and didn't try to interfere with the movie making decisions. Actors did screw up movies for MCU like Gwenyth Paltrow and Natalie Portman refusing to come back for some of the movies in their trilogy but MCU wisely cast them in secondary roles so they can be written out if needed.
They could have chosen Brad Pitt as Thor or Tom Cruise as Iron Man, and that would definitely have gotten more seats in the theaters but then those actors have enough influence to decide what would later happen in the series and they might use it too.

Ryan has a tremendous voice with sass and depth. Where’s he’s been hiding it all these years. And yes I have binge listened to all of the WZ musical vids with him in them.
Goodbye DCEU. Some of you will be missed.
Best moments. Superman learning how to fly. Batman Warehouse fight scene. Wonder Women cross no man land(and pretty much the whole movie). Deadshot killing all those minions in Sucide Squad. Half of Zack super cut of JL. Flash going back time in Zack's JL super cut. Some parts of Aquaman. That's pretty much it. Everything after sucked. I don't like either Shazam, didn't like Harley Quinn birds of prey, The new Suicide Squad, or WW84. Black Adam and Flash as ok. Nothing that really stands out.
Worst parts. Short list. Lex Luther, Joker, Enchantress, Steppenwolf. Pretty much all the villains. The Martha sence could've been handle better. The og JL released movie. 90% of everything behind sences. Especially Erza Miller. Pretty much 90% of all movies after Aquaman. The complete lack of direction.
WB 2013: we are the DCEU

WB: 2020 No we are DCEU again.
WB: 2013 we want dark.
WB: 2017 We need jokes. Lots and lots of jokes.
WB: We are making a Justice League movie. Let's not make sure one of our main leads is inform so his other commitments to other projects interferes with the movie. (Talking about mustache).

This is actually beautiful. I've loved the Warp Zones DCEU satires and parodies for years. Helped me laugh off some of the emotional turmoil (both good and bad) the films themselves consistently generated amongst DC fans.

As someone that genuinely enjoyed the DCEU, I agree. Is time to let it rest and move on. Looking forward to the future with Gunn, but grateful for what I liked in the past.
This brought me an odd mix of emotions and even a stray tear. Bravo. So long DC, our old friend. Here's to the future.

Okay, but whoever's playing Wonder Woman has a genuinely beautiful voice.
10 years of embarrassing fumbling later and the DC Animated Universe remains the forever best adaptation of the DC Universe
I have no idea how they do it. DC's animated stuff is (for the most part) fantastic, even the stuff that isn't part of the DCAU (their most recent animated universe might not be as legendary as the DCAU but it was pretty good) but outside of Batman-solo stuff and a couple of movies in the DCEU they just seem incapable of capturing any of that magic in live-action. There shouldn't be this big of a gulf in quality between them, and yet there is.
According to James "I am the studio" Gunn, the DCU Gunnverse is a complete brand IP retcon reboot. No more DCAU, movies, games, logo, everything going except Gunn's characters. Everything DC nuked and trashed. It's not the soft reboot everyone's making it out to be.
Unworkable, unnecessary and overkill! Too many eggs in one basket.
Snyder and the entire DCEU cast all wish to continue the story. For Darkseid.
Sell the Snyderverse to Netflix.

Actually you can sell the Snyderverse to Netflix, there's already DC Studios IP syndicated to Netflix, just like ZSJL was streaming on HBO. There's already rumours that there may be a Snyderverse/Netflix deal happening.
Ever since the Hamadaverse and James "I am the studio" Gunn announced the DCU Gunnverse and started insulting and exploiting cast, crew, and fans, DC Studios and WBD have been bleeding money so they could use a Snyderverse cash injection.
So you just want 1for 1 adaptation of comic books? Hell even the MCU doesn't do that. This is all the pencil pushers fault cause they wanted them billions. but you have to build to that.

All the endless behind the scenes drama and insanity that happened during the DCEU’s tenure could literally fill up an entire Tiger King-style documentary
-The entire Justice League Whedon/Snyder situation
-Leto’s inappropriate method acting (remember that?)
-Ezra’s multiple crimes
-Batgirl’s cancellation
-Ray Fisher’s allegations of racism
-Recutting of Suicide Squad 1
-Cavill’s mustache
-Zachary Levi having a public meltdown after Shazam 2 bombed
-The Rock’s failed coup attempt, sabotaging of Shazam 2 and Cavill’s brief rehiring
-Amber Heard being cut from Aquaman 2
It’s just endless. Maybe the biggest, most fascinating clusterf*ck in Hollywood history
This was...weirdly beautiful if I'm being honest, kinda nice they were saying good luck to James. Rip DCEU, can't really say it's been fun but it's had it's also had good times.
I really am looking forward to the newer movies to finally see a new and better universe

For all its faults, I really am going to miss this version of the DC universe, and it’s amazing actors
The actors did some great versions of the characters. I'm just looking forward to a Superman who sees a situation where snapping Zod's neck would be the most efficient way of winning and says: "I'm going to find another way." Once again, that's an issue with the writing. I'm not sure how they'll find actors who LOOK more like how I imagine the characters for Batman and Wonder Woman (although, I thought that it would be hard to do for George Reeves as Superman... then Christopher Reeve did a great job, so who knows... I think Cavill really needed higher quality writing, which was out of his control).
Having better villains is also a must. Tony Stark really helped kick off the MCU, but Obadiah Stane was important in solidifying that. Thanos, Killmonger, Zemo, the Mandarin (from Shang-Chi), the High Evolutionary, Red Skull, and a few others really helped the MCU gain traction. The DCEU managed the worst versions of the Joker and Lex Luthor that I've seen in live action. Oceanmaster, Black Manta, and Doctor Sivana were good villains. General Zod and Ares were okay. Steppenwolf looked practically nothing like how I expected from the comics (actually, his style of combat might have made Kalibak a better choice, although neither of them seem like good villains for a Justice League movie). I would probably use Brainiac, Darkseid, or Mongul for a more common DC enemy (although Starbreaker could work if a more obscure villain was acceptable).
@@calebowens693 I'm still hoping for a Legion of Doom movie, and while I normally dont like the idea of Deathstroke being on that team... Joe Mangianello has been wanting to do this for a long time.
I think villains they should add to these movies (not just for the Legion) are Metallo, Parasite, Livewire, Poison Ivy, the Rogues, Deathstroke, & Silver Banshee
@@nicksmyth4050 The Rogues and Deathstroke got lots of screentime in the Arrowverse (I'm wanting to say that Metallo, Livewire, and Silver Banshees appeared in the Supergirl show, but I don't think they appeared a ton).
Parasite and Poison Ivy would be great, particularly Poison Ivy. They haven't done much with less human villains in Batman Movies (Killer Croc, Man-Bat, etc...). Bane was done poorly in Batman & Robin (same as that movie did with Ivy) and he was very odd in the Dark Knight Rises (a mask that numbs pain really wasn't as interesting as the venom steroid). Mister Freeze could work... I almost wonder if 3 less human villains in such a legendarily bad movie have contributed to writers since then sticking to villains without powers for Batman.
I'd like to see Sonar, Catalyst, Doctor Polaris, Firefist the Incendiary Man, Killer Moth, Tattooed Man, and other semi-obscure villains.

This made me kind of emotional honestly, a lot of these movies had a lot of heart and thought put into them, yeah the management was misguided but the directors and actors tried, and these are fun movies with a lot of quirk

Yeah I agree. Honestly there are films in the DCEU that I didn’t like for the longest time that I went back and rewatched, and I kind of have a new appreciation for them. Mostly Batman vs Superman.

Sad thing is, a number of these actors have potential. I understand some people liked Affleck as Batman (I don't have much of an opinion), and Caville has the physical and skill potential to make an incredible Superman.

This made me sad as a DC Fan, the characters and stories we love and once dominated the comic book industry were never given the justice it deserved and fans suffered the most. I REALLY HOPE GUNN CAN HELP DC MAKE A COMEBACK, A TRUE UNDERDOG TALE.

Excellent job! I can't imagine the work and imagination that went into writing and performing the song, much less with filming a video that is true to the spirit of the movies had they been done competently.

So true. Dwayne Johnson is a one dimensional actor who is playing the Rock as the wrestler and still act the same way. Can't tell if he is in Jumanji or Jungle Cruise.

Hopefully Gunn makes a DCCU where the first big collab fight isn't against fucking Darkseid and that he also goes into other stories like Blackest Night that either haven't seen the light of the big screen or any other form of media since the comics or were poorly handled in previous iterations. Like, no hate to Darkseid, but if he is supposed to be this super ultra dangerous bad guy who can destroy planets at the drop of a hat, why is he being considered the weakest opponent they have to fight. Surely there are some weaker villains they could use as an opponent. Like, if Marvel used Thanos instead of Loki in the first Avengers movie, suddenly, they would start to run out of stronger opponents for them to fight. Darkseid is meant to be this all powerful guy and then he just somehow gets his ass kicked by 5 or 6 heroes who only just met about 3 days ago max? That doesn't make sense from a continuation standpoint.
Rant over. I just don't like how Darkseid keeps getting the Vader treatment too early.
