As i have never ever replaced coolant in any vehicle before, this visual footage was similar ones to what other ones i had seen. Yes, helpful thank you. P.s. i like working on my own vehicle. Therefore i know it IS done properly...
So after you drained the last of the cleanest distilled water, did you just use coolant concentrate? Did you just assume the residual water that didn’t drain out was enough to get it to 50/50?
What if my antifreeze holes busted and I got it replaced and the antifreeze still leaks when the car is parked what should I do I have a Ford Focus 2003
+phenom_ 1986 If it's a case of not knowing what was previously used in the system then yes. Some coolant types can react in weird ways when mixed and cause issues in the system.
Have a question on my ford focus. Its a ztect engine and the recommended is motorcraft but i cannot find it anywhere. Can i use other 50/50 antifreeze like Peck? (It wont take yellow, but also want to know the difference between the colors like green, gold etc.) Thanks for vid
Each have different additives based on the specifications from the manufacturer. The base for most antifreeze/coolant is usually ethylene glycol. If you can't find the Motorcraft(most auto parts stores should have it or the dealership), a name brand universal should be fine. make sure to fully flush the system to get out the previous type then add the new.
Car is working great thanks for the feedback. The previous owner had less than half gallon of antifreeze and looks like a rusty color. Now the heaters working and now overheating
JungleKing007 oh I see. So the radiator never empties itself? My Nissan Altima has access to both the reservoir and radiator. There were times where only the radiator was empty (as if the reservoir wasn’t sending coolant fluid to the radiator).
Sadly, these are not Nissans. the system is technically sealed. however, if you are having issues with the radiator filling or trapped air, there is a vent plug I was not aware of until a viewer alerted me to it located on the passenger side of the radiator you can loosen to free any trapped air. the reservoir is higher than the radiator so the coolant will flow into the radiator when this port is opened.
JungleKing007 no, not having issues, I just wanted to know if the car had direct access to the radiator itself. Ever since my recent overheat issues with my Nissan, I want to get to know my car better and how to prevent future problems.
+Paul Pope try running vehicle(parked) without the coolant cap on for a bit, should work its way out. Worst case, there are tools available to draw a vacuum on the system to draw out the air pocket.
It won't, but if you flushed like I did, you may further dilute the prediluted antifreeze. If you are in an area where the weather stays warm most of the year, you should be fine, but if up north where temps will regularly stays cool or dips below freezing, might want to use concentrate and mix your own following an antifreeze dilution chart which can be found online.
THANK you! Dude it is so hard for me to find decent how-to's for my 07 Focus. I'm an idiot with cars, so this definitely helped me out a lot.

Many thanks, now I can see what to do!
Thanks man. Time to change a lower hose and add new coolant
Straight water is just fine to flush you don't need distilled😂
neat idea the hose trick thanks im going to try this im due for a coolant flush
May I ask for the total coolant capacity for this ford focus model? Thank you
Thank you

I could be wrong but usually the coolant will already be 50/50, so I don’t think you need any water in the radiator at all (after the flush)
Sucks Ford engineered such a shitty drain plug. Thank you so much for the help!
Thank you !
is the engine running while you putting a coolant?
No need to use distilled for every flush. The last flush would be fine with distilled.
thx!

First items to check are that the hose clamps are tight and there are no cracks in the radiator itself.
When you had the car running for about 10-15 minutes did you have the coolant reservoir on or off?
Reservoir was connected while car was running.
05:50 Basically get it ready to make moonshine, thanks.
Thank you for this awesome video!
So it is imperative that you drain the old coolant before adding new coolant?
+phenom_ 1986 If it's a case of not knowing what was previously used in the system then yes. Some coolant types can react in weird ways when mixed and cause issues in the system.
You know what a block tester is?
Why would you do a fluid only change? especially afer 5 years, i'd say change the waterpump etc.
Valid point, but in my experience I've only had to replace one water pump on all of the vehicles I've owned. So I'll take the risk.
@@jungleking007Channel To me thats half assing it.
Hi. Why when you added the fresh coolant it didn't show the color green?
That's because the recommended fluid by Motorcraft was not green to begin with.
JungleKing007 thanks

Just get the antifreeze that you can use for any vehicle except Imports you can usually mix antifreeze with no problem
But where do I put coolant fluid if I need to put more fluid directly into the radiator?
Through the reservoir. That's the only way to fill.
JungleKing007 oh I see. So the radiator never empties itself? My Nissan Altima has access to both the reservoir and radiator. There were times where only the radiator was empty (as if the reservoir wasn’t sending coolant fluid to the radiator).

What size is that tube you use to drain plz
can't remember sadly, it was a random bit I had lying around. probably 3/8"ID? but not sure.
What's the best way to get airlock out of the system
+Paul Pope try running vehicle(parked) without the coolant cap on for a bit, should work its way out. Worst case, there are tools available to draw a vacuum on the system to draw out the air pocket.
JungleKing007 done that no airlocks gauge still playing up
Having the same problem here..... anyone know how to get the airpockets out???
Squeeze the hose and watch the air run
Yru having the vehicle on ramps at an angle with cap open and run it squeezeng the radiator hose the bigger ones
It won't hurt if I add the gold pre diluted ?
It won't, but if you flushed like I did, you may further dilute the prediluted antifreeze. what kind of Antifreeze/Coolant, are you using?
Ford Recommended Coolant. Motorcraft Gold Concentrate VC-7-B, diluted with Distilled Water
Red antifreeze is fine in mk2 focus as well

nice video!!. thanks, but WHAT year is the FOCUS in your Video?
It's a 2007.
The important question is how you bleding the air from instalation and ehere is the bleding ....
Why the heater?
Because the heater core is full of coolant
I like that big silver pan on the garage floor where can i buy that ?
+JOE FORD DIY bought it at Walmart. Think I paid about $15 for it. Definitely helps keep the garage floor from getting too dirty.
hi thanks for the reply i just read it now been so busy anyway is there a part number would you be able to take down the dementions for me ?
Do you know the water to coolant ratio?
Normally 50/50, but can be adjusted depending on the weather conditions in the area you live in.
Awesome my butt
Thank you
