Really cool, thanks!
Very informative, thank you! PS-I can't get over how cute your dog is!!❤
Aww...thank you❤️🙏
Hi these seem to be fantastic exercises. Where did you buy the disks you are using ?
Hi. Google "balance discs for dogs" and you'll see some options.
Does walking up hills help strengthen these muscles?
Generally yes but depending on the dog's grade and condition of the day (They have good days and bad days just like us😅).
@@CockapooMom thankyou! I wasn't sure if the mechanics of that were similar for dogs.
If I'm not sure which way the knee slides can I do all of the exercises?
Sure, that's fine as long as your dog is willing!
Wher did you get those mats from
These are yoga mats placed side by side :)
I am confused, the MPL has arrows that seem to point out and the LPL has arrows pointing in. May I ask why? It would seem that it should be the opposite.
The arrows are representing the targeted muscle action that helps prevent the ligament from sliding either side (so, it's the opposite).
@@CockapooMom thank you so much for your reply! My dog was diagnosed yesterday, and because her luxation is 1-2/4 and intermittent surgery isn’t indicated but we do need to watch for degenerative joint disease. Hopefully PT will help reduce any need for pain meds in the future.
@@jenniferkepkepner9256 Best wishes on your pup💓🙏
@@CockapooMom 🥰 thank you
Alternatively can pillows be used for balance training ? 3:13
Sure, pillows could be used!
Hi! Do you also use a knee brace for your dog?
No, I've never used one.
I think all small dogs have same problem ı have King Charles and he has same problem
Yes, it's really common unfortunately.
Have you noticed any improvement of the condition?
Results may be different based on many factors but generally, tagetting these muscles help. In my dog's case, his vet confirmed that the right knee no longer luxates when he was 6. In this video, he was about 10.
@@CockapooMom thanks for responding, so you've cured it?
@@bjf5027 I don't know if it's "cured" but it does not luxate at this point. Again, targetting these muscles can help manage the condition.
@@CockapooMom So my pups knee luxated for the first time after she fell from the couch at an awkward angle. She's 5 years old and extremely active so its really been holding her back. At first it would pop out of place several times a day (10-15), but its been about a month now and it only seems to slip out about 3 or 4 times a day. Now I don't know if this is happening because its healing, or maybe she just knows how far she can push herself and doesn't go beyond the limit. Either way, I've spoken to a vet about surgery and we are planning to get it done next month. I'm not looking forward to it, but I don't know any other option to get her back to 100%.
