3:02 Grandioso
10:45 Andante Sostenuto
16:21 Allegro Energetico - Fugue
22:19 Prestissimo
It's been a while since I listen to Martha on Liszt Sonata. I have the original Deutsche Grammophone recording, but seeing the score and listening is just mindblowing.
My jaw is on the floor by how she just breezed through the difficult parts as if it was as easy as brushing her teeth (e.g. 07:10 and 22:25). And with such a breathless tempo! It's a performance of Storm and Fire.
Mind boggling, sublime, fantastic interpretation by Argerich
Cette sonate en un seul mouvement est extraordinaire
Un véritable opéra ❤
another level period
in my life and to my taste of interpretations, I too tried on as many pianists (never ever can be like you) recordings of same piece, many pianists will excel like no one for atleast one piece, but I can't accept argerich as THE best in any piece, but hers will always be the reference to them
All of them will be like a betterment of hers to me
For me, she has the golden standard interpretation in
Prokofiev PC 3, studio with Abbado
Ravel PC 1, studio with Abbado
Ravel Jeux d'eau
Schumann PC 1, live 1978 with Klee
Ginastera's Danzas Argentinas
and shared best interpretations: Gaspard (alongside Pogorelich), Valses Nobles et Sentimentales (alongside Michelangeli), Prokofiev Sonata 3 (alongside Gilels)
@pavlosgermanidis2754 her prok 3 was an exception, sorry for not mentioning it, actually its equal to graffman's to me, and prok toccata, but I can't accept her gaspard de la nuit as a best, pogorelich will be the only one, i liked seong jin cho too a lot but i enjoy argerich but cannot admire for it
@@pavlosgermanidis2754 I love all her recordings and I would add some reference recording such as:
Beethoven first and second piano concertos
Chopin scherzo 3, barcarolle,sonata 3 piano concerto 1
rachmaninoff 3
and shares best interpretations in Bach Partita 2, Tocata BWV911 and English suite with Gould or Pogorelich (in the english suite)
@@marclopezgisbert6787 I agree with Beethoven 1!
But OG poster may be right about Gaspard. Pogorelich has the edge IMO (also for Chopin 3rd Scherzo). For Rach 3 she has very hard competition (Volodos, Bronfman, Horowitz ...)
@@pavlosgermanidis2754 absolutely agree
Argerich got me into piano music with her Chopin preludes. Even she can’t make this piece enjoyable to my ears though 😅. Maybe I just need a few more listens to get it.
Seong Jin cho played this very good in my opinion
Listen to laplante' performance. The best one
Eher anders herum.... also der Drive... und ich stehe nicht auf Blumen. Nützliche Gesten und ehrliches Interesse an mir reicht
