@Mike Ostrowski I'm not an Apple user so I'm not sure about what features Apple offers but I recall seeing some type of mirroring feature on Apple, just not as feature packed as Dex. Dex is truly on a whole other level.
I always use wired dex. Honestly its become my only computer, no other OS. I love the tab s8 plus and the feature set of dex. If Samsung pushes for better app optimization and we get more pro apps, I think more people would switch
Dex is my daily driver! Been using it since the Note 8. Every One UI update makes it better. There are very few instances where I have to dust of my laptop or desktop, even then I can remotely access those thought my S22 Ultra without having to physicaly sit in front of those.
Hello If you have experience with Samsung Dex and touchscreens combo I want to ask for advices. I also appreciate answers from any viewer, in case the creator of this channel can't respond to my message. I'm interested in using Samsung Dex with a touchscreen monitor myself. Since I spend time in my home mostly and don't really need an additional battery. To not mske things longer, I have my eyes on two devices. 1. Magedok OLED full HD 13,3. Has touchscreen and no battery. Very similar to Asus Zenscreen OLED 13,3 (you can find more reviews for the later here on UA-cam). 2. Magedok IPS full HD 14'. Similar to above, just a little bigger and IPS instead of OLED technology. Had no battery as well. My phone is Samsung S20 FE. I tested Samsung Dex using another monitor (no touchscreen) and it works, but drains my battery very fast. So asking about BOTH monitors my questions are as follows: 1. Does plugging the power source (to the monitor) stop phone battery drainage? Does it even slow it? I watched reviews, but all they say is that plugging the monitor I can just boost the brightness. So I'm worried it would still consume my phone's battery even when I plug monitor to separate energy source (even if it doesn't need it). 2. If you aren't sure about the above. What would you recommend me to get additionally? Would buying an USB adapter solve it? I have hope that maybe an active (and not passive) adapter could help, being able to PD power deliver devices using it. Any experience with using it? 3. Most importantly. Can an use touch screen from the MONITOR when connecting monitor to my phone? Does it transfer both signal (image) AND touch or just the image? I want to control my phone through the monitor (its touchscreen), so both signal and touch transfers are needed. 4. If the above is true, how much control it gives. Can I use the monitor just like I used my phone? Meaning, could I play 3D android games and use controls just like on my phone? I play one game especially (Sky Children of the Light), it has two on screen 'sticks' (for moving the character and camera, with two thumbs). So I was wondering if using Samsung Dex I can play it normally just like with my phone - Or if it supports only clicking one area at the time (so I couldn't play normally with both thumbs and move the character/camera at the same time). You can even test the game itself if you got some time as it's free and without adds. I'm worried that it works just like a mouse even with touchscreen and offers zero support for multiple touch points pressed at the same time. For now this is all. Thank you.
DEX is my main PC for atleast a year now, its absolutely amazing to not use a laptop with a screaming fan but a efficient and nice device like your phone.
I use Samsung Dex all the time to connect my home lapatop to my Galaxy S22 Ultra wirelessly (even when I'm at an Internet cafe). I love it so much. My job requires extensive traveling (so happy I'm reimbursed for travel expenses lol) and all I need is just my phone. I leave my laptop at home and use my other one at work. I never knew Dex is this powerful. Wow 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
When I was studying, I had a phone and no money for a laptop to conduct my studies. I did, however, have the money for a monitor, keyboard and mouse, so everything could be done without worry. The cheaper Samsung phones can do a similar thing but rather than a Dex skin it uses the same Android skin as the phone but all the inputs and outputs are operated with PC peripheries assuming you have a USB hub to connect everything. I love this feature.
Dex has no lag on my note 20 ultra.... I'm absolutely flabbergasted it's working so well after on and off using it for 2 years. It's absolutely amazing now
I'm watching a video on Samsung Dex using Samsung Dex. Mind blown... Lame jokes aside, I love, love, love Samsung Dex. To me, the pros vastly outweigh the cons. I seriously haven't used a desktop since, and I really only use my work laptop for (gasp) work.
I paired a NexDock 360 with my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with Samsung DeX specifically so that I can use my smartphone as a software development environment (Termux within which runs a Alpine Linux virtual machine via QEMU within which I run Docker, tmux, vim, nodejs/mpn/npx, etc.). If I want a larger screen, I connect the smartphone to my HP Z38c 37.5-inch Curved Display Monitor via USB-C cable.
Will it replace PCs as a whole? I don’t think it will. But this absolutely has the potential to catch on,and make mobile phones a lot more capable than they already are. Imagine carrying a pocket sized laptop with you, keeping your data and work on you,and expanding it into a desktop experience seamlessly. So i wouldn’t be worried about dex replacing windows, but It would most likely be a great compliment to it.

Due to my physical condition, I have to use Samsung DeX only with the phone as a touchpad, and only with one finger. Because of this I can't scroll with two fingers. What solution is there to be able to scroll with one finger?
Not gonna lie to the samsung dex on the tablet is amazing, and the fact that you can utilize a full bluetooth keyboard with a mouse on bothe the tablets and fold series is truly a game changer. I'm using it right now because as much as I love my Windows pc, it has been acting funny as of a couple of hours ago connecting to the internet. Which sucks because I was doing some work but my fold came in clutch (no wireless dex ) with the keybaord and I wanted to see if how the dex experience faired on the tablet and its even better with a bigger screen.
Good analysis. Do you know if this supports playback of protected contents via HDMI? I have some subscription services in my smartphone and some of them (fotball mainly) can't be streamed directly to a TV, TV Box, Console... using Chromecast and the likes. So I was wondering if it could be used directly via HDMI input in a TV or projector? Thank you.

Thank you Sir.But please help .When I connect Tab S9 plus with monitor, though Dex mode is activated only video plays on the screen:No sound on the monitor ,but both Video and voice is on the Tab .Same is the problem when my S 22 Ultra mobile is connected .A message was shown saying " TAP THE TOUCH PAD ICON ON THE NAVIGATION BAR".I have no idea about that ? My both systems are android from Samsung.
can I drag and drop files from the phones file explorer onto my dex desktop? For example if I want to work with excel files on dex, can I setup my dex desktop like a windows desktop? I googled that question but all I get is information about drag and drop from a windows PC which is connected to dex. that is NOT what I want to know. I think about getting rid of my PC and using the phone as an all in one solution, therefore I need to know If I can customize it to a level which is acceptable.
Additional questions: does it support a search function like windows search? I'm very used to just hitting windows key and typing 3 letters to open up an app or a program. Does it support windows/apple-like shortcuts like alt+tab to switch between windows? I've heard that there is multi window support between different apps, but no multi window support for single apps, so you can't open two or more windows of the same app next to each other. is there a plan to change that anytime soon?
I wanted to ask about docking stations. If you use one - Aren't you worried about overcharging the battery/shortening its life? Since it's charging constantly. Or about connecting your phone to an external monitor (on daily basis). I found no workaround for this issue saldy and want to use an external monitor that has OLED touchscreen. Couldn't find anything that had a battery (monitors with batteries), OLED and a price that is not something bad completely. I was thinking about Magedok 13,3 fullhd OLED touchscreen. Close enough to Asus zenscreen OLED 13,3 (can't get the later in my country for a long time from now still). I have some questions, maybe you can help. 1. I watched reviews, but all they say is that plugging the monitor I can just boost the brightness. So I'm worried it would still consume my phone's battery even when I connect my monitor to energy source (using it's charger). 2. Then I could simply drain the battery to the moment where charging is okay once more (and connect monitor to its charger again). 4. Here I'm worried that 4k OLED could have a bigger energy consumption and won't run with my phone without plugging the monitor into its charger, as I'm interested in either their fullhd or 4k option (I use it pretty close to my face and do very detilaed work so even with small screen it still matters to me). To make your task easier - My phone is Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. It has battery 4500 mAh (if this info helps you with anything).
@@sonicsnake44 Thanks for this idea. Looks nice. Although I would be worried about pixel density, based on my experience with VR and displays. I think this technology is going to improve, so I'm going to try them at some point. This one I wouldn't buy now as the price is not yet optimal.
Hi there is no clarity on whether it can run 4K 60 hz, if your country supports goodlock you can enable high resolution feature on Multi star plug in, however it only says high resolution
You must be talking about the play pause notification on the phones notification panel while the UA-cam is playing on your TV rt, That has nothing to do with Dex,
Very Good Review! I mean probably no POP YTer mentions/reminds quality of cable (for ESPECIALLY monitor resolution) pls make similar one for ready for. TYVM
Oh i wish Apple would announce something like that for their PRO models. I like the iCloud interface but a full blown up version…😮💨 that would be great too.
DEX is amazing but I've been experimenting and it's not perfect. I disagree with the idea Google apps work well. Google documents on Dex is not great. In fact apps by Samsung, Adobe and Microsoft work better. However UA-cam is fine. So far as browsers it may be that the Samsung browser works best. There are a few issues using Chrome and Edge. Thank you.
One thing to point out that i found today is that if you click photos by holding camera upside down. It still clicks normally. But when shooting video it doesn't. Lens try to do something you can notice while recording.
I hope I can do this on my S7 I want to use my Samsung Gear VR as a passthrough on my laser so I don't burn my eyes out I'll emulate the light so I can focus the beam and not hurt myself. And I can also use the web browser on my monitor at the same time with HDMI to USBC on the VR. So I can control my laser and 3d printers through octoprint on 4 different raspberry pi4's. I hope it works..
i am too using it as my pc but the only issue i faced so far is Ms office exprerience is of not that good. samsung should partner with microsoft so they can devloped a full scale ms office with all features for dex. then i guess it can completely replace a pc for an average user.
Hey, I would want to know how to use phone as a track pad when Dex is connected with a wire. I see this option only when it is wireless. Secondly, wireless connection gives me a rather different interface as opposed to a wired connection.
Hi, on both wired and wireless you will see a notification to open the track pad, I havent see a difference in interface with my devices.. Not sure why u r facing it
@@SidJ8300 - Are you sure it's DeX you're using, hahahaha. I mean, the two things you said is not the experience i've had nor have i seen anyone else discuss it. The track pad is the same whether it's wired or wireless and the interface is also the same. You have me very curious as to what it is exactly that you see/experience
@@SidJ8300 i think he meant maybe you're accidentally just using the cast feature instead of Dex since you don't have the mouse option and an entirely different interface.
If you have LG Ultragear 4K Monitor, then You don't need anything extra. Ultragear comes with 3 dedicated cables and USB-C is one of those. Just connect USB-C of LG and Samsung. Both devices will auto-detect each other, and you will see DEX welcome screen.
Smart Things screen sharing and DeX doesn't work on my S22 Ultra or any of my older Samsung phones. I guess it is purposely done to force users to buy Samsung TVs. My TV's are Sony and LG. I did countless bug reports about it to Samsung support, but no any difference update after update. Maybe it's time for me to switch to different brand.

This feature is very helpful and Apple doesn't have
apple does kinda
How to use wireless dex with laptop cursor.? Not using the phone as cursor..
What monitor are you using? Pls suggest monitor with usb c port in India
Hi this is lenovo think vision series 2k monitor 27 inches.. bought it at 34k
1:41 all my notification tiles don't show, only wifi, sound, bluetooth, mobile data and dark mode, how come???
Can work with android studio IDE in coding??
DEX is the reason i use Samsung and it's enviroment.
how is the experience with Ms Office?
Decent enough
Is this only exclusive to note/ultra? or does the base and plus models have this too?
All S series get this feature
Which latest Samsung UI got the best DEX update pls ?
I have VU Cinema 43 inch TV but I can't connect Samsung Dex to it. Give solution.
Check if the TV has built in Miracast feature.
Hey boss, i won't able to watch Netflix or Amazon video with the help of Dex. Could you please help me with that?
Hi if I am not wrong, these apps deliberately do not allow us to use them on large screens..
DRM rights or something
Wouldn't this wear out the mobile phone battery way fast etc.
May be to some extent
Very Good Review!
I mean probably no POP YTer mentions/reminds quality of cable (for ESPECIALLY monitor resolution)
pls make similar one for ready for. TYVM
Thanks, will do!
The Dex mode is the big difference when i bought the Tab s8+ instead the iPad pro.
Awesome! Especially for photo/video editing and dumping!
Any working link to the wallpaper?
Any possibility to bring samsung dex on samsung f62?
Nope not possible
A yt Video showed DEX on Mi10/11(one with SD870) custom ROMed to samsung UI.
Proves some sort of possibility.
This is really a helpful feature that Samsung offers!❤
Is there a way to get the chromium browser on the tab S8 ultra /dex?
Not sure, will explore it and see
Brave browser is based on chronium. I use it only with samsung dex. Otherwise i use samsung internet
I believe the Kiwi browser is also based on Chromium
What ab Google Chrome itself?
didn't work?
Great video sir. Could you please provide link of the wallpaper of your phone in the video at 1m 4 seconds. (Colorful square boxes).
Hi thanks, that particular few seconds clip is from an old video and I don't have that wallpaper on the current phone, sorry
@@ThePhoneFuel no problem sir. Hope Samsung collaborates with app developers to make their apps optimised on Dex.
Does chromcast work for mirror functions
For just screen mirroring through google apps you can use chrome cast but for Dex you need miracast
Good q
Thnx for the video. I'm unable to get audio on the TV while on dex mode. Any suggestions??
Hey thanks, No I am not sure about that issue...
Hit audio output in the bottom right corner of Dex and you can decide where the audio comes from .
Heard both simultaneously possible
Nice one brother, good job for the updating
I enjoyed your video. Thank you.
Welcome 🙏
This is honestly better than a chromebook
Wish something similar would be on iPad. Great job Samsung!
Try duet
💔 i wish if Xiaomi made similar DEX that frustrating to me ..
-any ideas about that issue with xiaomi ?!?!
hi, could you pleeeeease try the nitho drive pro v16 conected to the smartphone in dex mode?
Hi let me see.. 👍
wtf is that 😂
@@cravatenoire3269 it's a steering wheel bro
Oh i wish Apple would announce something like that for their PRO models. I like the iCloud interface but a full blown up version…😮💨 that would be great too.
How many more slaves would Apple need to contract through the CCP to do it?
@@mitch_the_-itch Don´t know. Five?
@@TheChrischkula Not the hero you think you are.
@@mitch_the_-itch I´m absolutly not. And i don´t think so. You´re right. I throw my phone out. Thank u!
will the monitor reach to 120hz while using deX
I don't think so.. But haven't checked it
DEX is amazing but I've been experimenting and it's not perfect. I disagree with the idea Google apps work well. Google documents on Dex is not great. In fact apps by Samsung, Adobe and Microsoft work better. However UA-cam is fine. So far as browsers it may be that the Samsung browser works best. There are a few issues using Chrome and Edge. Thank you.
how is it working so smoothly
Hi, I have an issue connecting dex via cable from my galaxy s22 & tab s8. The cable works fine on galaxy s10 & s10 tho
Anyone have same issue?
This should not happen generally.. may be the cable is not compatible with the latest phones... 🤔 strange
@@ThePhoneFuel guess I'll just buy a new cable 😮💨
👍
hope to see some evolution for web development features.
One thing to point out that i found today is that if you click photos by holding camera upside down.
It still clicks normally.
But when shooting video it doesn't.
Lens try to do something you can notice while recording.
On my phone it takes videos normally when held upside down
@@ThePhoneFuel normally as in output result is also upside down or normal?
Try clicking photos upside down. Result won't be upside down.
Ok, shooting and clicking in upside-down is giving normal results
Yes that's what I meant to say, even if it's taken upside down, the videos and photos are recoded and played in the right/nomal mode.
Your UI version pls?
What about using the online 365 solutions through chrome?
Can you show how to connect a Samsung Tab 8 to the PC in the same way as the phone?
Hi it should work the same way as it works with phone. I don't have have a tab to demo it
@@ThePhoneFuel unfortunately when I plug in my Tab, it only opens file explorer, have tried running dex on the PC in hope it'll get the tab to start 😒
Have you installed Dex software on the PC?
@@ThePhoneFuel of course that's how I use my Fold 3 on the PC. I presumed that the Tab S8 would work the same
Oh okay..
Hey, I would want to know how to use phone as a track pad when Dex is connected with a wire. I see this option only when it is wireless.
Secondly, wireless connection gives me a rather different interface as opposed to a wired connection.
Hi, on both wired and wireless you will see a notification to open the track pad,
I havent see a difference in interface with my devices.. Not sure why u r facing it
@@ThePhoneFuel Samsung is cheating me .. 😂
@@Gpinney1224 I don't know of any other mobile phone that offers this feature so it has to be Dex .. 😅😅
@@SidJ8300 i think he meant maybe you're accidentally just using the cast feature instead of Dex since you don't have the mouse option and an entirely different interface.
Do Tell Me How You Have 6 Icons On Home Screen I Can Only Add 5
You can increase the grid using a Good lock module called Home Up
Thanks Alot...Saved Me From Hustle
Didn't know the restriction.
Monitor name
Lenovo ThinkVision P27h-20
Awesome video to informative
Brilliant 👏
