+Alex S LOL, man I actually bust out laughing after reading this... good stuff. I have them on my recently acquired Ninja 250 and I've taken them to the edge on parking lot drills, so definitely okay grip for stock tires.
you can get one for less than 100 bucks a month, dude. go get one. i would like to point out that suzuki has extraordinarily low interest rates. if you're tier 1 or tier 2, you get 0 percent fixed rate for the entire loan. it's not a limited time thing, it's the entire freaking loan and it's their normal rates. the maximum rate if you have the worst credit possible is still less than tier 1 rate from kawasaki. i know because i just bought a bike from a kawa/suzuki dealer. i would have gotten 14% interest from a kawa, but i got 0% from suzuki.
I bought a used 2016 Goldwing with the expectation of new tires before I took ownership. I thought I’d get the OEM tire but they put the Shinko touring tire on it. I didn’t go 50 miles before I put new tires on it. They would have killed me. I thought the shop installed the wrong Shinko as the sidewall couldn’t handle the weight. I was wrong as their website called out that tire for the Goldwing. I’ll never use anything but Dunlop again.
Great review. I own a 1988 VTR250 and there has always just been but a few choices available. Now manufacturers have found a new rider category and the tire folks have come through.
The Michelin Pilot Streets are really let down by that rear tire. The problem gets even worse when it gets a little wet. The rear has AWFULL grip in the rain. It feels really good and planted untill you give it just a smidge of lean angle. At that point the rear end completely loses grip and you have to do a big correction to not lose it. If they can find a way to fix the weird grip levels in the tire I think it would probably be the best "around town tire" for small cc sport/naked bikes. Wet weather riding becomes really scary when 80% of the intersections in your town are roundabouts.
I've got the Michelin Pilot Street radial and as you said, they're really good in the rain and last a good 15'000km (a bit under 10k miles), you can still use them on twisty roads if you don't put crazy angles which you shouldn't on open roads ;)
I just saw the video! and I'm surprise that IRC RoadWinner price there was over 200$, here in Indonesia (its manufactured here I believe) only cost 80$-90$ per sets, and yep all 250cc bikes comes with that tires!
I use Kenda Challenger tire's on my bike. They were one of the only tire's I could find for my bike that weren't ridiculously expensive. I paid $40 a tire and it's extremely solid for commuting.
They were actually one of the few tires I could find for my rim sizes. I have had 0 problem's with them, and I've taken them out when it was 55+ degrees, wet, and taken sharp corners faster than needed. They grip really well and will not hesitate to stop the bike quickly. I really don't understand the hate.
Schleberger I never said I was cutting any corners. They were out of only a few tires to choose from, and the rest were $200 a tire, I'm not putting on tires that are worth as much as my bike.
+almass a khan damn true.. Super grippy but less life time.. R u from India? We get metzelar as stock tire for the 390.. Like I said nice grip but it'll last for around 10k to 12k kms
i went to the dealer in my country (peru) for a 2015 rc 390, i saw one (older) with metzelers and the one i bought came with pirelli diablo rosso, that was kind of weird, are metzellers more expensive or something maybe they changed them before delivering the bike to me ...
running a 160/60-r17 on the back of my 2016 r3 and the stock 110/70-r17 on the front, Both are Michelin pilot power 2CT tires i had to ditch the 140 rear as they do not make this tire that small, Bike is day and night compared to the stock pilot streets and even the two sets of pilot street radials i had, Definitely worth it to get the good tires.
howcome you didn't test the Metzeler sportec M5s? They come stock with the bike here in India and I personally feel that they are great tyres however since I am new to bikes and this is my first bike, I haven't tested any other tyres in the category. I'd love to know what Ari has to say about them he's kinda like an idol for me :P
After hearing spacepods review on the rosso 2 being a new rider, I bought them and loved them as I have a lot more experience on bikes and have tried different tires. Hands down the bstone s20 evo is king. Grips better and lasted me 3 months rear compared to 1 month with the rossos. I am a track oriented guy and love the s20 evos and now the s21 for my 750. Pirellis wear extremely unevenly. If you buy the rossos once you pass 1500 miles check your tire, pref when cleaning your chain to spin the tire and check it out. The pirelli will look fine until you get to the other side and see where your cords are about to pop through. Looks like the middle of the tire is splitting open for those who don't know.
I'm getting Rosso III's. Do you reccommend 140/70 or 150/60? I only care about feel/grip/handling (disregard wear, price, strightline stability or looks) Thx!
Dunlop is the exclusive tire for all Motoamerica classes including the smaller displacement junior cup series. They also are exclusive providers for the Moto3 and Moto 2 classes in Moto GP... not sure why they got zero entires into a lightweight sport bike tire shootout?
No Pirelli Supercorsa SC? or Dunlop Alpha-13? I swapped the stock Metzeler M5's on my RC390 with the Alpha-13's and the Alpha-13's were much better, the M5's feel like a reasonably sticky road tyre, where the Alpha-13's feel like a road legal track tire. If grip is your primary concern then I would get either one of these two tires.
I've got the S20's on my wr250x and am thinking about getting an RC390 for the weekend/track and I'd not hesitate for a second to put the new S21's on that bad boy.
you defenitly want the best tyres for a bike iff u are going to lean over and play at the limit! thanks for great review guys :) il recomend brigdestones s20 evo tires to my shop ;) and friends :)
Could someone please do a test run with Metzeler, Pirelli and MRF in the future? Just eager to know how will they perform as compared to the other mainstream brands out there...
nice subiective test but whers telemtric ? i want now how much diffrence in time is bettwen this tire on track best test be also with braking data and with speed and time around circle let say 46 m diameter .
What about the Metzeler's M5 Sportec tyres? The Indian bike comes equipped with them. I was wondering how they'll perform against the Bridgestones and the Pirellis.
***** Please oh please do a tire comparo with the best DOT tires on a 600 or liter bike. Really curious about Evos on bigger bike and also the new RS10 in comparison to like q3's or supercorsa's. Great Video, friend just bought a 390 and we were just discussing tire choices for the smaller bikes. Thanks
Ari, are you considering to test those tires on streets or rainy conditions? If you did already, what was your experiments? In Turkey, we always choosing to use most soft tires like Rosso II and Pilot Street and avoiding to use IRC's
Ah, good. I changed to Metzeler M7 RR's and the ride is better on the street. Leaning into turns feels better, maybe due to the old rear starting to develop a flat area.
Good review as always. I'm rocking the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IIs on the Ninja 300. I suppose it would be safe to try the Bridgestones despite going up a size from 110/140 front and rear? I'll have to research it. I wasn't too fond of the IRC Roadwinners, and the IRC is 3.1 lbs. heavier than the Pirelli Diablo Rosso rear and don't warm up as quickly. To me, that's reason-enough to upgrade without wearing-out the IRCs first.
***** The Bridgestone S20 EVO is offered in stock sizes. You will want to move the rear up to a 150 though, I am running a 140 rear and you have enough grip that you can lean beyond the edge of the tire. I just ordered a 150 that should be at my door in the next hour or two, and it is cheaper than the 140 somehow.
+Riley Keehr: Hey can you tell me how the 150 will handle against the 140?? Personally I think the Center wears down JUST a TAD too fast. My hope is the added rubber to the road will last longer up center and have more available Traction at the edges of the tire.
+spacep0d Yeah Bro the Editor is right. After Riding the 2013 ZX-6R636 for a 1.5/2yrs 3 months as my First bike then just Hoping on to the Ninja 300 after 5 months of experience (last September) I was scrapping the pegs. Not to be bragging..... But in all Seriousness the "Chicken strips" where gone and the Front tire you can barely see them. That was After riding the bike for 1-2 months once it finally broke in.( about May) So yes Truly they Are Amazing Tires!!! If you also do a lot of Twisties or Flowing long turns the wear characteristics are Pretty Good! True I do think the center wears a little fast. But rightfully so I"m not the only riding that particular 300 since my Wife does more Straight line riding considering the routes of Last year. But yes Amazing Tire and Great all around everything Street to Track.
It doesn't effect the center wear at all. I did swap to a 150 and it is much better at max lean angle, I still have a hair of untouched rubber on the edge so it made a huge difference of corner contact patch compared to the 140.
+spacep0d I run the Pirelli on my RC390. Best tire I have ever used haha. I am considering the Bridgestones... but they aren't that much more affordable, and I already know I like the Pirelli.
i'm using a pair of Dunlop Alpha 13 and even now in Winter the perform quite good, but still i don't have the full experience of riding in awful conditions in the highway! I was planning to use the GPR300 for this conditions but i think i'm gonna wait with this 2... also very useful for the "amateur race" in trackdays and race tracks
I have a question, the most premium tyres i can get at my country are: Corsa R93 (indonesian brand), Pirelli Diablo Rosso II or Sportdragon and Michelin Pilot Street. Should i be going by the Rosso II then?
Sebastián Núñez Peña Corsa R93 is definitely the best from that group.. have personally used it myself. you won't get too many mileage out of it though.. since it's a bit softer
You forgot to mention the Metzeler's M5 Sportec tyres.... I have them on my RC390 and they're simply outstanding in terms of high speed cornering grip levels....
it will be good if you try IRC iz-s. I am using it with my cb300. the price is about $200. and it work so well. you have to try it and and you will believe me that it is good! please try it.
Ari, how about a comparison between small bike track tires? I would love to hear your opinion of the Bridge-stones VS Alpha 13's Vs Pirelli Super Corsas. Also, why doesn't bridge stone have the r10 in small bike sizes in the states?
I tried to finish off IRC road winners with a burn out once.. I ran out of gas.
+Alex S LOL, man I actually bust out laughing after reading this... good stuff. I have them on my recently acquired Ninja 250 and I've taken them to the edge on parking lot drills, so definitely okay grip for stock tires.
I'm surprised you did t run out of top end first...
Got a 8 year old set on my CBR250R; definitely need to be replaced by now but I'll replace them with more IRC's.
Need an updated version of this test with todays tyres and newer ktm 2017-2021 or ninja 400 !
I'm pretty sure the new RC390 uses the same sized tire still
Very informative, good tire reviews are rare.
This episode is brought to you by Bridgestone tires. Performance on the edge.
why am i watching this, i dont even have a bike
WELL...U R NOT ALONE

Ludwig Honauer hahaha
Honestly i could watch you review tires all day
this is a fantastic review, honest informative , and just cool , great idea testing smaller tyres, well done lads keep it up
How about comparing the Dunlop Sportmax GPR-300....maybe a little update to this video??
Shinko tires are the #1 tire I sell at my shop. Best bang for your buck for the everyday street rider!
Zig Ray I hate those tires on my RC-51
I bought a used 2016 Goldwing with the expectation of new tires before I took ownership. I thought I’d get the OEM tire but they put the Shinko touring tire on it. faisal ramadhan iya bro, di US trnyata IRC roadwinner seharga battlax wkwkwk
seharga battlax tp rasanya jauh :v
Guess I will not be changing my roadwinner
Itu radial, di Indonesia banyaknya yang bias
COOL! Just bought the S-20 Evos and didnt really get any reviews.. .but this is GREAT!
Honda really needs to do something with the baby CBR to make it competitive with the Ninja and R3. Tires alone aren't enough to save it.
+GT6SuzukaTimeTrials Rumors say 2017 CBR250RR to start production in August. But still, rumors.
Oh I hope that happens. I love the CBR250R with Repsol paint. I just want more power and/or less weight without having to modify.
Death666wish they're available atleast on asian market and they look brilliant!
Need to update this video comparing the new Michelin Power RS and the Dunlop GPR-300.
Cant wait to try out the S20 EVO! thanks for the review!
Good no bull dust comparison, thanks.
I use Kenda Challenger tire's on my bike. They were one of the only tire's I could find for my bike that weren't ridiculously expensive. I paid $40 a tire and it's extremely solid for commuting.
Dan Silva Tyres really are to wrong place to save money on a motorcycle.
Kenda tyres are the reason why I had slipped out my front end two or three times and messed up my bike. I will never use them again.
Once in a right hand corner at 100kmh. Luckily I tumbled instead of sliding. Road rash still occurred.
They were actually one of the few tires I could find for my rim sizes. Ishaan Aggarwal m7's are best
M7's are best used on tracks. Waste of money if using for daily commute
I use Michelin pilot street as a daily driver and believe me when i say this, they are better than stock metzeler H rated!
Suck up my Michelin power rs is better
This is the best video for KTM/Kawasaki tyre choice!

Did he crash? At the last few second you can see his suit is worn out.
+Kevin Chow Ari didn't crash during that test, but that is his "testing" suit and it has definitely kissed the pavement a few times!
+Motorcyclist Magazine thanks for the reply!
Motorcyclist Magazine what about metzeler m5 interact that are stock on indian rc390's
New michelin road 5 is a good option too
Hard to find though and very expensive when you do track them down.

what about the Metzeler spotec m5??
They haven't included that as the sponsor was not available
RIDER SOLO which one is the best according to you
raghav fazer Michelin any day
Never heard of that brand.. Maybe in india only..
@@pikapikacool you never heard about metzeler and michllin
That's strange.
Good informative video. An overview (image) of all five at the end would help though.
Thanks.

I personally recommend Bridgestone they are doing great
Great upload guys. Am planning on buying RC soon. So this was useful for me
Could someone please do a test run with Metzeler, Pirelli and MRF in the future? Just eager to know how will they perform as compared to the other mainstream brands out there...
The RC's comes with metzeler tire in India by default. Any idea where it stands in comparison ??
I wish you included some dunlops also. I got my ninja with gpr 300
plz can you make a new video about new tyres which is best for 2022
Y las de Pirelli diablo rosso 2 vs metzeler m5 cual es mejor?
What about an updated review? Since now there are new competitors such as dunlop alpha 13 and Michelin power rs
why didnt you try the metzeler's ? they are worth a shot, they come stock on ktm 390 in my country.
What about braking performance, on road sudden emergency breaking is a big factor between stopping or falling
The ktm 390's comes stock with Metzeler types in my country which are pretty awesome.
How about this years Small Sportblike Tire Comparison?
Thanks for this very useful video!
nice subiective test but whers telemtric ? i want now how much diffrence in time is bettwen this tire on track best test be also with braking data and with speed and time around circle let say 46 m diameter .
Can you do a separate video comparison of the Bridgestone S20 Evo's to the Dunlop Alpha 13's?????!!!!
alright, im getting a set f s20evo for my r3 to replace the numb feeling street pilot
are the rosso ii 140 's different than the 150's or its the same deal all around?
where do the Metzler sport tech m7rr fall on the list ? just curious cause the come stock on the rc 390.
What about the Metzeler's M5 Sportec tyres? The Indian bike comes equipped with them. I was wondering how they'll perform against the Bridgestones and the Pirellis.
They are probably better than all of these. MCN did a test with them.
***** Thanks a ton.
BTW the new M7 RR's are supposed to be way better than the M5's so you could've used them in this test. Just a suggestion :)
*****
Please oh please do a tire comparo with the best DOT tires on a 600 or liter bike.
Really curious about Evos on bigger bike and also the new RS10 in comparison to like q3's or supercorsa's.
Great Video, friend just bought a 390 and we were just discussing tire choices for the smaller bikes.
Thanks
In India the RC 390 comes with the Metzler, I think you should compare Metzler also.
I had irc road winners on my 2022 honda cbr300r and I got 5k before hitting wear bar and 7k before one spot on the tire hits flush
So does a rounder profile allow more grip at leans? Or is a flatter profile better?
which one is good for suzuki gixxer sf 155cc?
whats ur take on metzellers... as they are being standard with rc 390 in India??
Ari, are you considering to test those tires on streets or rainy conditions? If you did already, what was your experiments? In Turkey, we always choosing to use most soft tires like Rosso II and Pilot Street and avoiding to use IRC's
What about Metzeler's fantastic MC tires for smaller sports bikes ...?
I wonder why Bridgestone battle-axe isn't more popular in supermoto. It's my favorite tire on a sport bike.
Suggest me for Ktm RC 390 tyre for street ? Which is best ???
which one is very suitable for cornering
How are the Bridgestone tires in the wet?
Good 1, was really helpful :)
I weared my IRC's out on my ninja and but the S20's on it, what a world of difference :)
+Sean Van Vaerenbergh How are they one wet surfaces and cold weather? My stock IRC's scare me. heh
+Sean Van Vaerenbergh How are they one wet surfaces and cold weather? My stock IRC's scare me. heh

Ah, good. I changed to Metzeler M7 RR's and the ride is better on the street. Leaning into turns feels better, maybe due to the old rear starting to develop a flat area.
what abt the stock metzeler tyres on rc n duke 390???? i heard they r the best don't change them.... is the Bridgestone better than metzeler???
What about the metzellers?
They come here standard with the rc390 and duke390 in India

All R-series are good even the R26
thanks for the information I have bridgestone tires only for my ktm rc390 they are awesome
Which is the best rear tire for Ktm 390?suggest!
When to change tyres
Please tell us you'll be doing a medium and large sport bike tire comparison tooooo!!
As I see in the video, isn't the Bridgestone S20 Evo using 140 rear?
The top 2 tyres are not available in my country so will go with Diablo rosso 2.
When are you guys gonna do an updated tire comparison? Got the Rossi 3s, Alpha 13s, and a few others.
where does the Metzeler Sportec M5 interact stand among these tires? rather which is better metzeler or pirelli diablo rosso 2???
A bit hard to believe the Perelli came in 3rd.
Is the pirelli diablo rosso ii 140 grippier than the 150?
Are the diablo rosso 2 better than the stock metzellers on 390 ??
You forgot to mention the Metzeler's M5 Sportec tyres.... I have them on my RC390 and they're simply outstanding in terms of high speed cornering grip levels....
More tire choices for my supermoto! 😍
It’s been years since this post! Anything new?
Im using IRC road winner
where are Metzellers..???
+DeceptionInDisguise In the trash! No, I'm kidding. I am curious too.
Man In Disguise never ever mention that brand here. the sponsor will get upset.
Never heard of that brand.. Maybe in india only..
Could you please review Michelin Pilot Power 3 and Metzeller M7RR?
Ari - I know Dunlops were not included in this review. Would you still stick with the S20 EVOs over the new Dunlop GPR 300 or ALPHA 13s?
does metzler sportec m7rr suitable for rc 390 & rc200????
it will be good if you try IRC iz-s. I am using it with my cb300. the price is about $200. and it work so well. you have to try it and and you will believe me that it is good! please try it.
Where did you end up buying the S20s from? I couldn't find any S20s in 150 rear! I ended up buying Pilot Power 2 CTs.
Which tyre give great performance?
PIRELLI DIABLO ROSSO 2
MICHELIN PILOT SPORT RADIAL
IRC ROAD WINNER
need your opinion 🧐
Michelin Pilots is what I use cus of their life. Diablo Rosso 2 is the best I've used but they last 8k - 10k Kms only. I have a Yamaha R3
Ari, how about a comparison between small bike track tires? I would love to hear your opinion of the Bridge-stones VS Alpha 13's Vs Pirelli Super Corsas. Also, why doesn't bridge stone have the r10 in small bike sizes in the states?
Any idea on how they would compare with Metzeler Sportex M5 which are the standard fitment in India and, I believe, in Europe as well?
Awesome review. Thank you!!
I take it that this info also applies to supermoto as well?
