This has a few amazing ideas for kenessos, however i have some notes specifically for budget players that think they cant afford this: - Cyclonic Rift is optional here. We already get access to engulf the shore, whelming wave and crush of tentacles. Dropping 40 bucks for rift is a bit overkill if it doesnt fit your budget. - Yavimaya cradle is amazing but also really not that necessary here since so much of your deck cares more about your blue mana anyway. Run a few more of the cheaper untap dual lands if you cant afford this one and it wont be that much of a downgrade. - Divining Top at this current moment is available from 10$ up if youre ok with HP condition and foreign language text. - The Fetchlands are great but like he already mentioned in the video, evolving wilds, terramorphic and even stuff like myriad landscape are more than suitable replacements, since the shuffling and deckthinning are what you care about, not the fact that the fetchers can get you your dual lands. Hope this helps in case the budget seems intimidating at first ^^
Additionally, the expensive counter spells can also be replaced with the scry counter spells for a bit of extra synergy and lower price point. These are a very definitive downgrade tho
Yup, which is why I don't do budget content. NonRL cards always have the potential of being reprinted. Hopefully always into the ground. Thanks to finally getting reprinted, you can swap out Heartstone for it.
I just switched Aesi Seamonster to Kenessos Seamonster and am tweaking rn. A consideration: Wildernes Reclamation. Either tap the mana to scry to your hearts content, or put something big onto the table - potentially on every turn. Edit: Maybe Thran Turbine to reduce some activation costs during your upkeep?
Cream of the Crop can help you chain lots of hits if you have enough mana Hua Tuo, Honoured Physican is great ‘reanimation’ here to put something on top of your deck then put it into play with your commander
What do you mean that some of the big sea monster creatures, like Leviathan, have to harsh of a downside to play? The deck is playing plenty of islands right?! 🙃
Think of it this way: there are currently over 4600 possible commander decks to build. So even if you were to have 40 decks, that's still 0.86% of all the decks you could have. So less than 1% isn't crowded 😜
@@TheCommanderTavern it's too limited to requiring the top card. You need so many under the sea creatures just to hit the ability 50% of the time. I'm trying to build it also but I still don't think there's enough drop creatures to support it.

Exactly right on all points! I am 100% pinning this comment. Thanks so much!
@@TheCommanderTavern No problem ^^
The decktech and list are really great, got a lot of inspiration from it for my own kenessos list ^^
@@YodasMessenger Awesome! Glad it was helpful :)
This is a great deck you brewed. Definitely going on my list of potential decks to build this year.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
1:35 After being reprinted in MoM Aftermath, Training Grounds is now about $3-5

Ooh! Both amazing suggestions! Thanks!
Another two cards I was interested in for this deck are thran turbine and mirri's guile
Yup! Great suggestions!
brainstorm and jace mind sculptor would be great in this deck
100% yes! Amazing suggestions! Jace is a repeatable Brainstorm which is like a one-time-use-only mini Scroll Rack effect.
Cream of the Crop can help you chain lots of hits if you have enough mana

Plenty enough to sacrifice each upkeep, right? 🤣
Stop having me order new decks. My place is getting crowded! >:(

No slinvoda?
Slinvoda?
Slinn Voda, the Rising Deep
@@TheCommanderTavern slinn Voda the riding deep.
I want the budget for this 😭
Don't we all...
Average cmc is too high in this deck.
Kenessos cheats those casting costs with his ability.

@@TheSpiritombsableye That's fine. It's all a matter of hitting that sweet spot. That makes for a pretty fun and relatively casual deck.
