A native son of Wyoming, Ian Munsick is painting a stampeding, spirited portrait of the American West with his sophomore album White Buffalo, due April 7. This song reminds me of a friend I used to have, Carla. We used to ride together for fun. She loved her horse, which anyone would have discarded for being 'ugly, worthless and good for nothing.'
She was rare, literally one in a million. Never in my life had I met someone her age with the same flexibility and big heart. I used to say that the only sin she committed in her life was studying law 😂
She passed away a year ago due to a brain tumor at 19 years old.
We were quite different: while I was the youngest wild one who seeked for adrenaline, she was the nice, admirably patient one
Sometimes I like to imagine her with her young white horse walking around. When she got sick she asked her parents that if necessary, they should sell her car but not her horse.
