IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is not described correctly in the video. Correct version is: Setting material sets appearance unless a custom appearance has already been applied. It should show in the appearance UI which it doesn't in version 1.0.
Good video, this is the part that I find the most complicated with this new version I was so used to changing the ‘colour’ of my parts with the ctrl+d keyboard shortcut, without really worrying about the material... you've said the word "material" so many times that I've got Madona's song stuck in my head 😆 🎼We are living in a material world, 🎶 and I am a material girl 🎶
The Madonna reference made me laugh 😅. The changing the basic color of an object with Shift+D will confuse many users in 1.0 I guess. But as you can see, it is not that complicated to get used to the new system.
