My friend has this gamepad and complained about the dongle being limited to 250Hz at first, but yesterday PXN announced a firmware update for the dongle to fix that problem on their PXN official youtube channel under the community section. He tried the update and can confirm now that the polling rate has indeed change to 1000Hz on the dongle.
Thank you very much for this valuable information, how I wish I made my review a day or two later ahahah! I'm sure it'll help someone though, pinning it!
Thank you for your review. But as I said before under your previous videos. For its price it is a killing machine without competitors. After one month of using it, I can say his durability is on a high level. And about materials it is really subjective, because I very like how it feels in hand, and don't want any changes in this case.
So did I make a mistake by ordering a Cyclone 2 instead of this? Aside from 1000Hz polling rate with the dongle and TMR sticks, they seem to be pretty similar and a Cyclone 2 is almost double the price of this one. I'm just wondering if it's worth it for the higher price.
Yeah I'm with @Psychotoxic86 the Cyclone 2 is a superior product about all around except for 2 buttons instead of 4 but that doesn't stop the PXN P5 from being a great value deal too. They are essentially peak options at different price points.
For 20-25$ you should try fantech eos pro. It has hall effect on trigger, analog, anti friction ring, changeable analog, macro, turbo, led, and triple mode. Connection
I did review it, it wasn't as low when I did though, it is effectively a potential contender at 20-25USD. I'd have to retest them both to find a winner!
You cannot, it comes pre-cooked and what is there is there. I'm hoping they continue to update their app to allow modification down the road but for now, it's quite useable, but sadly not adjustable or if it is, it's not made obvious, I couldn't find anything to do so.
@@GameTechTalk Thanks, if you have contact with them, let them know that having full tweaking (sens, dead zone, outer zone, and curves, AKA dynamic sens ) of the mouse emulation function, would help them differentiate, and have an unique controller.
Unfortunately not, I think the app is off to a great start but I hope they'll keep developing the features to eventually include keyboard keybinds for example.
I do not have the 2C Wukong Edition but I have the regular one. Between the P5 and regular 2C, I prefer the P5 because it works with more devices and is about as good with more features.
Using in Mac. The controller works good in Switch but in Bluetooth mode it turns off after few minutes IDK why. The (RT) travel doesn't work even if I press slightly it shows input of 1.
Is that "GTT" logo illuminated sign on the wall behind you a new addition to your studio? It looks great. How much does custom lighting like that cost? As far as the PXN controller is concerned, I like the looks of the unit. I like everything I've heard about it so far. I really like the price too. It's very nice. I'm looking forward to the PXN wheel review. When you mentioned the wheel in a prior video I commented that PXN was a relatively unknown brand to me and that I was looking forward to seeing you try to handle lapping Circuit Gilles Villeneuve with it. Someone replied to me saying that PXN wheels don't have a good reputation in the sim racing hobby. If this controller is any indication, hopefully PXN has turned a corner.
I had the logo before, removed it when I changed my set up and it was sitting out of commission, it's been brought back, thanks for noticing. I'm also excited to test the PXN wheel, that controller gave me hope. I'm also not very knowledgeable about them so it might offer an interesting perspective to someone that is not a simulation gaming veteran.
I know that you'll offer useful insight into this wheel. I know this because I see how seriously you take each review, regardless of what the product being reviewed is. You may not be an expert on wheels now; but, by the time you finish filming you'll likely know a lot more about them than me. I'm only familiar-ish with Logitech, ThrustMaster, and - to an even lesser extent - Fanatec wheels.
They cannot no, I haven't opened the controller either but buttons always have a specific layout to each buttons that prevent them from being swapped to a different location.
Somebody needs to make a controller with tiny backlit A,B,X,Y on the side of the buttons. Like Xbox style on the left, and Nintendo style on the right, and just lit one or the other. Simple and cheap solution.
It's subjective but I'd say that it is yes. Especially since the Cyclone 2 manages to outshine pretty much every controller on the market when it comes to its sticks.
Make sure to download the app on your phone and connect the controller to the phone as per the app instructions. That's, as far as I know, the way to make firmware updates if any are available.
@@DA-qv7vf If it didn't work, it's best to assume that it's for the non-8K and the firmware looks for device ID to prevent bricking the wrong controller.
I did nothing special, just booted the controller in the Switch mode, it should be in the manual on how to do it, from there I held the button to put it in pairing and I connect it in the bluetooth menu of the Steam Deck. Cheers!
They do not, you'd have to open up the controller entirely to change them. Once you do however, I'm pretty sure they use aftermarket ones, eXtremeRate is a brand that offers a lot of various colors and caps.
The Cyclone 2 would definitely feel like an upgrade over the K10, for software solution, extra buttons placements and useability, hair trigger and the quality of the sticks overall.

The Vader 4 Pro feels more premium but I would say the P5 also feels higher overall than it's price point. I just have a preference for something a bit more gritty which the P5 is not a whole lot of.
Here's a thought, would it be more realistic if people said it was bad for the sake of having a review that stands out? I don't think anyone out there is trying to say this beats a Dualsense Edge but when considering the price, quailty and features? I would question the integrity of the person that said it's a bad controller, especially with what I know from having reviewed it. Hopefully, that statement provides perspective.
Well that's definitely good publicity for them that you have, I'll be paying attention to mine but the build quality does feel nice so I'm not too concerned, thanks for adding your inputs as well, I'm even less now!

The Cyclone 2 will be far superior for everything else but from a mobile-only point of view, the D9 wins by default as it's just better suited for that specifically.
I'd go PXN P5 over the Direwolf 3, it's a tight battle mind you but I think the P5 takes the advantage overall. That said, if keyboard+mouse mapping is a feature you want/need, the Direwolf 3 still has an edge over the P5.
