There's an interesting story behind the two pictures - according to the blog post, they are among the earliest surviving commercial photographic portraits made in England: talbot.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/2017/06/02/coal-merchants-and-talbot-richard-beard/
How remarkable that such effective animations can be generated from images never conceived for that purpose. The daguerreotype portraits of Talbot were new to me, adding invaluably to the iconography of that major historical figure, and I also was especially interested to see the likenesses of the Archbishop of York, photographs of identifiable subjects born prior to the reign of George III being rare. Lastly, I found the musical accompaniment apposite and haunting, surprised to read that it is by Aphex Twin, quite unlike other tracks I've encountered from that artist.

This is a wonderful resource. I've seldom been that effectively assisted in my endeavor to perceive the past as real.
I'd never seen the pair of Talbot photos - and I'm a fan of his! So, thank you. 😸
Best wishes from Vermont 🍁
