The only thing that you might should have covered would be the seating. It's something I've had problems with because of my being tall: the maximum height of the seats was too low and my knees were constantly hitting the keyboard as they were resting at an upwards angle, and raising the keyboard through the stand would have meant then that the keyboard would have been sitting too high with respect to me and that I would have been reaching it at an improper/harmful angle of attack.
Lots of great info here. This may be a bit more than a beginner/first keyboard point, but I'll mention it anyway. Connectivity ports. Some beginner keyboards have 2 headphone ports for the teacher and student. Also USB, Midi, Bluetooth connectivity. If you're starting out then you may want/need connection to a computer or iOS device for practice/instruction. There are a lot of apps that are great to teach chords, finger positions, and so on. Also probably something worth discussing with a teacher if you have one. Cheers..
Great video, and you got all the things right. I first bought a 37 key Arturia Keystep 37 which has tiny, unweighted keys but with a couple of extra functions like chords, strum and key selector, that was perfect for starting with synths. Now I got a semi-weighted, 61 key Nord Wave 2 with full-sized keys which is a WORLD of difference as it responds better and does more than just "on/off/aftertouch". But I didn't need that keyboard upgrade as a synth beginner, I had to evolve first and become "worthy of the Nord" 😅
Yamaha YC-61 is the only keyboard a beginner should buy. If you need weighted then the 88 version. NOBODY can beat the value for price for either Yamaha YC. The YC has Nord Stage 4 type setup, ease of use - user manual not required, easy, inspirational, durable, battery operated, portable, bluetooth plus it has INPUTS!!
could you help me? i bought a yamaha modx8+, but i sent it again to the shop because it has a problem with the black keys, when you play the black keys fast and hard, decreases the intensity or volume of the sound, so i was thinking about to buy the modx6 and use its sounds with a MIDI. could you tell me the best midi with 88 keys to use with yamaha modx6?
Aaaahh. I can't believe you forgot the main one. Buy theeeee mOst EXPEEEENSIVE you can afford short of selling a kidney. Why??? eBay is full of instruments that 'little Johny' doesn't want anymore. Also, like a gym membership. You feel nothing if you have a cheap membership. On the other hand, you'll think twice about not going if you have an expensive one
What keyboard do you want ? Uh.... The RED ONE ! Right ! NORD ! Love it !
Jack ur great, thanks for ur enthusiasm and sharing ur skills and knowledge!
Very helpful, thank you!

"Biggest piano ever made, 88 keys." Bösendorfer would like to disagree!
But in all seriousness, this was a nice and useful video.
Lol came here to comment this. Nobody tell Bösendorfer!
Um actually 🤓

I would love to visit someday
Very good tips, thx ! 😃
It will be great to see video where you just quickly show different pianos from design point and maybe mention prices? Thank you

There are actually pianos with more than 88 keys. Some Bosendorfers have extra keys. Stuart and sons apparently do a 108 key piano.
This was very helpful thank you. Sub
Nice👍
We all want an upright but we are living in smaller houses and rooms

Crikey! Get that outside wall fixed. Looks like it could topple any moment.
